Lunch times drinks trying to butter up a client? After work drinks, with your boss? More-drunk-than-hungover mornings? Office birthdays? There a surprising number of alcohol related office situations.
For the lightweights out there, sometimes you mistakenly end up tipsy at work. Or those of you who are partial to a messy Monday or thirsty Thursday occasionally turn up to work only to realise you're still drunk. You know the horrendous hangover will hit but you're currently more stressed about trying to be as inconspicuous as possible.
But there ARE ways of limiting the damage you can cause when tipsy/still drunk at work....
1. Smell nice.
Make sure no-one can smell the booze on you. If you have to do a boots pitstop before work, then so be it. Bring a toothbrush to work, gum, deodorant, perfume and dry shampoo.
2. Dress up.
If you are dressed a lot sloppier that usual it'll be obvious that you're hungover/drunk. Put in the effort, pull out your favourite outfit and add a red lip. Everyone will be thinking about how lovely you look and not the fact that your eyes are blurry. Positive reinforcement people, it's the way forward.
3. Eat healthy.
If you're eating cheesy chips at 10am people will know something's up. Go for a Pret breakfast and then at lunch sneak out for a McDonalds fix.
4. Keep your bloody mouth shut.
Don't chatter incessantly to your co-workers, don't speak up in the meeting (your idea won't sound so good when you sober up) and just stay quiet in general. Slurring your words ain't funny at work.
5. Drink all the water.
Just drink litres of water. Literally just hydrate until you enter the hangover stage. You can do it, we believe in you.
