Having bagged 11 nominations
, Kendrick Lamar walked out of the 58th Grammy Awards last night with a whopping five of them in tow including those for Best Rap Song, Best Rap Album and Best Music Video.
Undoubtedly the star of the night, Kendrick's live performance of The Blacker the Berry and Alright from his album To Pimp A Butterfly was praised by news outlets as the highlight of the evening.
Winning several a Grammy herself as predicted, Taylor Swift emerged victorious in the face of Kanye West's "misogynistic" lyrics in Famous
. Accepting her award for Album of the Year, Tay Tay told the crowd: "I want to say to all the young women out there - there are going to be people along the way who are going to try and undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame."
Rightly or wrongly, rival nominee Tori Kelly appeared angered at Taylor's claiming of the award for the second time and had a serious case of sour grapes as she stared on at the leggy star as she gave her acceptance speech.
Lady Gaga's tribute to David Bowie was also a treat; the performance (lasting over six minutes long) may have been effects heavy but was dubbed "experimental" and "multisensory." The Bad Romance singer performed a medley of Changes, Ziggy Stardust, Suffragette City and Rebel Rebel.
