Classic Black Tea Collection
Beautifully presented in a bespoke Whittard box, we've created a selection of our best loved blends to give you a choice when it comes to teatime. We've been blending teas since our founder Walter Whittard opened his very first shop back in 1886, and this box is likely to keep you going for some time: there's four different teas to choose from and 32 teabags in total, individually wrapped for perfect freshness. Our English Breakfast has been a morning staple since the time of Queen Victoria, and our Earl Grey and special Afternoon Blend are ideal for serving with scones and clotted cream. Our vanilla flavoured Regal Blend is a bit of an homage to British tradition - you know what to serve when the queen comes to tea.

English Breakfast Alice in Wonderland Mini Caddy

English Breakfast Alice in Wonderland Mini Caddy
We love English eccentricity so weve created three mini caddies for our most quintessentially English teas, decorated with the original illustrations from Alice in Wonderland. English Breakfast is a popular favourite, and we cant think of a better tea to serve at a mad tea party down the rabbit-holeEnglish Breakfast tea became something of a national drink when word got out that Queen Victoria was a fan; Walter Whittard was quick to follow suit, creating his own distinctive blend from a selection of different tea gardens in the West Java region. A Whittard firm favourite for well over a century now, our English Breakfast tea is smooth, versatile and invigorating with a robust malty richness particularly delicious served with a splash of milk to accompany a hearty 'full English'.

Earl Grey Alice in Wonderland Mini Caddy
We love English eccentricity so weve created three mini caddies for our most quintessentially English teas, decorated with the original illustrations from Alice in Wonderland. With its unusual bergamot flavouring, Earl Grey is a quirky classic fit for the Mad Hatter himselfOur take on the quintessential British blend of fine Chinese and Ceylon black tea is perfectly balanced with flavours of citrusy bergamot we've even added a scattering of blue cornflower petals for an elegant final flourish.Renowned for its wonderful bergamot aroma, Earl Grey tea has become firmly ensconced as an afternoon tea classic. The story goes that the iconic blend was specially created for Charles Grey, 2nd Earl Grey, in reward for saving the son of a Chinese mandarin from drowning. When his supplies of the tea had run out, the earl commissioned British tea blenders to recreate the taste. A few decades later, Walter Whittard devised his own signature version which took the tea auctions by storm. Have a taste, and find out what all the fuss was about.

English Rose Alice in Wonderland Mini Caddy

English Rose Alice in Wonderland Mini Caddy
We love English eccentricity so weve created three mini caddies for our most quintessentially English teas, decorated with the original illustrations from Alice in Wonderland. The rose has symbolised love and royalty for centuries, so who better to grace our English Rose mini caddy than the Queen of Hearts herself? It was during China's Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644) that tea artisans first experimented with buds and blossoms, imbuing the leaves with essential oils. Roses were among the very first flowers they tried and osmanthus, orchids and jasmine also proved popular. We've recreated the taste of a classic 'Meigui Gongfu' rose tea by using a Chinese black tea for the base, imbued with subtle floral flavours and scattered with rose petals. The tea might be authentically Chinese, but those wonderfully aromatic notes of rose are forever England. Deliciously delicate and seductively sweet, a single sip brings to mind rolling hills, church bells and country gardens: perfect for a picnic on the village green.

Cuba might be known for cigars, cars and communism, but we think it deserves to be known for its coffee. Farmer Manuel Ribeiro grows his beans high on the islands mountain slopes, shaded by the forest canopy: the result is a smooth-as-silk roast with a chocolatey aftertaste that lingers and lingers. The Caribbeans largest island has been growing coffee for over 250 years, but its surprisingly difficult to find a really good batch.
