Durham, County Durham:: A Diggerland experience for four in Country Durham is a fantastic family fun day out. Offering something for all ages, kids and adults alike will love learning about these amazing digging machines. The park at Diggerland is well equipped with dumper trucks, mini diggers and giant diggers and plenty of rides to keep everyone amused and enthused. There are loads of different rides and because you have paid for the day, you can ride again and again on your favourite. Choose from classics such as Skittles, Dippy Ducks, Dirt Diggers and Sky Shuttle. Availability: The park is open at weekends and bank holidays from February to the end of October and seven days a week during local school holidays. It closes during November, December and January. Weather: Diggerland is predominantly an outdoor experience but, although rare, they may restrict some rides in the event of very poor weather. Duration: The park opens at 10am and guests are free to stay until 5pm (or 4pm in February). Numbers On Day: Spectators: Any additional adults or children (aged 3 and over) can pay on the day to enter Diggerland. The parks do not allow entry of dogs, with the exception of guide dogs. Why not take your own picnic? Dress Code: Please dress for comfort and wear suitable footwear such as trainers or wellies. There is a chance that you may get a little muddy, so bringing a change of footwear is a good idea. Guidelines: Exit the A1(M) at junction 62 and head west on the A690 into Durham, then follow the A691 signs to Consett. After six miles, turn left at the roundabout, signposted to Langley Park then turn right into Riverside Industrial Estate at Langley Park. Restrictions: Children (under 13) must be accompanied and supervised by their guardian(s). Height restrictions apply on all rides/drives and those under 90cm are too small. Some children may also need to be accompanied on some rides/drives by an adult. Other Info: Diggerland does not permit the use of bbqs. Although not included in the price, empty tummies can be refuelled at The Dig Inn, with a selection of snacks, burgers, salads etc (be aware credit cards are not accepted in the food area).

Golf isn't a sport that a beginner should best try without any coaching first, so head to a Marriott Golf Academy for the perfect introduction. Start off with a coffee before going to the academy or the driving range and spend the first hour on the basics of what is called the long game (long refers to the length of the shot, not the length of the game), including how to swing the club and strike the ball. During the second hour, learn some of the basics of the short game, including chipping and putting. A ten pound voucher towards lunch at the Marriott restaurant is included, along with a copy of the specially-produced 'Learn to Play Golf' programme. Location: Morley, Derbyshire; Edinburgh, Scotland; Meriden, Warwickshire; Manchester, Greater Manchester; Shipley, West Yorkshire; Ware, Hertfordshire; Chepstow, Monmouthshire; Maidstone, Kent; Southampton, Hampshire; Norwich, Norfolk; Availability: Saturdays (most venues), Sundays (Hertfordshire only) or weekday dates from May to October.
