Today is International Women’s Day, where the message being championed is #PressforProgress

The official campaign website states “Individually, we're one drop but together we're an ocean. Commit to a "gender parity mindset" via progressive action. Let's all collaborate to accelerate gender parity, so our collective action powers equality worldwide.”

This past year has been particularly marked by women speaking up. From Women’s March in the United States and all over the world as a protest against Donald Trump’s presidency, the 100th anniversary of women getting the vote in the UK, to the Time’s Up movement against sexual harassment, voices are rising to call for gender equality.

To celebrate this day, we've collated our favourite empowering quotes from inspiring, famous women. Scroll the gallery above to read them.

This is not a drill: new Mansur Gavriel styles have just landed on Mytheresa.com fresh off the runway. ‘See it, love it, buy it’ is usually how it goes with the New York based brand’s It bags and shoes but, as this is the first time their ready-to-wear will be stocked as well, we expect this drop to sell out pronto. There’s no doubt about it anymore, MG is taking over your wardrobe one colourfully minimal piece at a time, and has captured the hearts and wardrobes of stylish women worldwide. From a colour-blocked bucket bag to a full- blown offering of essential knitwear, boardroom-to-bar dresses and more, the now-cult brand’s clean and sophisticated aesthetic stays the same. Everything’s free from surface embellishment, bar their discrete logo, so the impeccable materials and craftsmanship can be admired in all their glory.

We can’t think of a better way to sample 2018’s sweet pastel trend than with Mansur Gavriel’s chic lemon, candy floss pink and lavender basics. Think smooth silk shirts and tops and you definitely won’t be missed in an elegantly sheer layered midi dress, which comes in traffic-stopping red as well as this delicious pink. And why buy another iconic leather bucket alone, available here in new colourways and sizes, when you could broaden your collection with a tote, circle crossbody or even a roomy travel bag in classic and contemporary tones. Let the array of suede, shearling lined, and heeled boots put the spring in your step and you’ll be itching to show off your pedicure in the open-toed mules and sandals as soon as the weather permits.

Check out the collection highlights in the gallery above then shop your favourite styles in the exciting edit below.

The countdown to Valentine’s Day is on so whether you want to reveal your feelings to your crush, spoil your partner-in-crime, or make things more permanent with an unforgettable proposal, Jewel Street should be your first port of call. You won’t find any generic designs, only exceptional, one-of-a-kind pieces hand-picked from over 600 independent brands worldwide. From classic diamonds to contemporary metal, stunning settings to meaningful words, rose gold to silver, you’re bound to find a ring, pair of earrings, necklace or bracelet the person you have in mind will love. Heart embellishments are anything but cliche and boring here and better yet, you’ll spring to mind whenever they wear it. Forget flowers and/or chocolate- no matter how expensive or hard-to-source, they are ultimately temporary tokens that die or get eaten whereas a special piece of jewellery lasts forever.

It’s best to start small and manage expectations if this is a newish relationship or you’re hoping your gift will lead to one. You can save, spend or splurge and we’d recommend a vintage-looking bracelet or an on-trend pair of earrings- say chandeliers or hoops- that reflects their taste so they’ll show their piece off at every opportunity. Colour is very important too as they’re unlikely to wear silver if all their other jewellery is yellow gold. The more time you’ve been with your partner, the more they deserve to be spoiled don’t you think? A decorative necklace will more than fit the bill, especially if it’s bold but understated enough to wear everyday and never take off.

If you’re going to propose, make sure you’ve done the groundwork by sizing up their ring finger, speaking to their friends, and asking their father if you’re being traditional about it. There’s a wow-factor selection of engagement rings with stones of various sides and shades, along with promise rings if you’re not ready or simply want to reaffirm your love. And for goodness sake: keep the actual ‘Will you marry me’ simple; don’t risk losing or damaging the ring by slipping it into a dessert or champagne glass for effect. It’s not unheard of to have two rings when you do it either, the additional one can be smaller but no less stunning for knocking about.

Buy nothing until you’ve seen Reiss’ new collections. Because the British brand, favoured by stylish influential women and men worldwide, is particularly adept at refining the current fashion mood, noteworthy trends and the demands of modern life into timeless-with-a twist styles that you’ll reach for time and time again. So the newest pieces will slot effortlessly into your new year wardrobe refresh with captivating new narratives. Reiss’ reputation for exemplary quality and a discerning attention to detail is well-known, and a testament to the in-house design team, which ensures the ageless, authentic designs can flatter all shapes and sizes.

Being present and in the moment is a common new year’s resolution that extends and expands rather chicly into the new #10;https://www.shopcade.com/click/000000000000000000000001/509bb3a6646fcbd63a000003?bp=1">womenswear options. Inspired by American photographer Slim Aarons, who dreamily captured well-dressed jet-setters in idyllic settings, Picasso’s line drawings and other complementary cultural references: romantic silhouettes and sophisticated prints that transition from day to night and from winter well into spring start the season off. Clothes-wise, that means #10;https://www.shopcade.com/click/4ee60fdd3a67ae2126000000/5a6b4aba66a92fed078b4588?bp=1">soft tailoring, silk shirts and oversized #10;https://www.shopcade.com/click/4ee60fdd3a67ae2126000000/5a6b4ad7458719505b8b45a9?bp=1">knits, ideally styled together to radiate laid-back luxury, and stripes of varying sizes are the key pattern. Come March, vintage hand-drawn prints arrive as artful accents, along with draping and delicate pleating. The sculptural silhouettes and forward-thinking fabrications of the occasionwear mean you’ll be all set for the wedding season ahead.

For men, the message is ‘the sublime is now” which is certainly the case when you break down the collection. Lake Como’s stunning landscape and Italy’s love of racing sports inform the deconstructed tailoring, thematic tones like Goodwood Green and Grand Prix White, and the bold prints designed to create an evolving sense of effortless cool throughout the season. Stripes also crossover here on the Finnie and Grange #10;https://www.shopcade.com/click/4ee60fdd3a67ae2126000000/5a6b4b20458719265b8b4653?bp=1">shirts, while perforated #10;https://www.shopcade.com/click/4ee60fdd3a67ae2126000000/5a6b4b3666a92fec078b4629?bp=1">leather jackets and accessories practically heighten the impact. A great example of the new modern-fit tailoring is the Wonder double-breasted pinstripe #10;https://www.shopcade.com/click/4ee60fdd3a67ae2126000000/5a6b4b5f66a92fca078b4665?bp=1">suit, and there are plenty of trophy tops and genius jackets to choose from.

The search for the ultimate winter boots is over thanks to Dear Frances. Designer Jane Frances launched her luxury footwear brand in London in 2014 with a timeless-with-a-twist ethos and exquisite craftsmanship at its heart and it’s generating quite the buzz. Chances are you’ve seen the now cult Spirit boots, a classic, heeled ankle style, on the likes of Kendall Jenner, Bella Hadid and Amal Clooney in various colours, highlighting their cross-generational appeal and unparalleled versatility. And there are the Float boots, Dear Frances’ take on the Chelsea boot, which have lucite accenting the wooden heel- a genius identifiable detail that is fast becoming a signature. Every elegant style has been designed with comfort in mind, to be easily worn all day, every day for years to come.

Dear Frances also deserves credit for its ethical production processes and partnerships with non-profit organisations. The boots are expertly crafted by artisans in Italy, at the same family-owned factory where London College of Fashion graduate Frances previously interned, and with only the finest sustainable materials- from supple leather and suede to decadent velvet are used. The theory is that by creating the highest quality boots possible at an accessible price point, waste and over-production will be minimised as they’ll endure. Clearly these are boots worth stockpiling and investing in, even more so when you realise that the brand sends a pair of shoes to a person in need for every pair sold. It’s part of Dear Frances’ mission to help people worldwide while creating shoes that make you look and feel amazing.

Anything Phoebe Philo does at Celine turns to gold, or ends up in wardrobes worldwide in some iteration. For once, though, we weren’t looking at the intelligently visionary clothing of the Resort ’18 collection, rather the gold hoops hanging from the models’ ears. Chunky and twisted, they add a flash of showy glamour to the covetable sense of refinement that feels very of-the-moment. And we’d very much like to impulse buy everything in shot, but the earrings or a similar style are a much cheaper way to get the look.

What’s funny, though, is that you probably already own a pair of gold hoops but never previously put them into this context. They’re worn by teenagers, rude girls, “chavs” and señoritas with slicked down baby hairs and Croydon facelift ponytails, not necessarily stylish women. We’re stereotyping of course, because gold hoops now have jewellery box essential status due to their incredible ability to elevate any look with instant and undeniable sex appeal. Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez and Beyonce are gold hoop icons and they’ve been spotted on many a streetstyle star. Thin or chunky, plain or detailed, tiny or shoulder- skimming: they’re also in line with the geometric mood in jewellery but are arguably most classic. Don’t bother mismatching your gold hoops or wearing them one by one as it ruins the effect; and if you buy yours in multipacks, you’ll always have back-up pairs.

It’s Nanushka’s time to shine now that Eastern European fashion is in the spotlight. Head designer Sandra Sandor, a London College of Fashion graduate, was inspired to launch her Budapest based label in 2005 by her mother who sold children’s clothes in the 1970s. Mixing intuitive design with playful cuts and sumptuous fabrics, Nanushka offers subtly feminine styles with unexpected details that create a sophisticated sense of urban escapism and an informal beauty.

Delivering a high fashion point of view at affordable prices, Nanushka became an instant hit with plenty of It items. Fashion influencers like Camille Charrière and Danielle Bernstein picked up the cult HIDE puffer jacket; while the '90s belt bags, the SORAYA silk dress, the PALOMA bodysuit and babouche inspired shoes have helped make the Hungarian brand all the more popular both on social media and in over 30 countries worldwide. As Sandra puts it: "Nanushka is for the urban nomad, for those who are on the move but always at home."

Nanushka is definitely one of our favourite brands to watch, so shop your favourite pieces from our expert edit below before they sell out!
