statement shoes can be a outfit breaker is you don't style them properly. A one color piece like a black or white jumpsuit or a cool leather mini skirt and t-shirt can lead all the main focus on the jewels that you are wearing in your feet. A good statement shoe, always start a great conversation. What are your thoughts on this? photo credit Battlegrounds19.com #shoes #statementshoes17 #fashion #trend #hadid

Yes statement socks are now a thing. Ever since Vetements, fetishised athletic tube socks giving them a higher price tag, socks have become not just a practicality but an item that you actually want to show off.

The fashion pack took notice and contributed in absentia in the creation of multiple variations. Statement socks can be athletic think Vetements, Fila, Nike, they can look eye-poppingly patterned like Marni or Prada. They can be absolutely plain like the ones Rei Kawakubo employs against intricate designs for Comme des Garcons. Ricaardo Tisci goes for knee legth black or white socks for Givenchy. The street style stars have took this statement sock trend to heart - though for years it was considered a major faux pas.

The stylistic options are truly endless: Combine them with a classic white trainer, or a bright red sandal hel, try a very trendy boot with built-in sock (the sock boot). Try a sheer mesh ankle sock and pair it with stileto heels or mules like blogger Leandra Medine, or go for the full fishnet sock look and leave them peaking from a pair of ankle boots.

Catwalk shows and street style always has something new to look at. There are plenty of trends emerging yet some manage to persist for seasons. White boots are certainly a thing in fashion. Initially considered the 'ugly shoe' white booties are now the trendiest item in stores. They can be worn as statement pieces, just like black boots they go with everything yet making you stand out more!

We don't necessarily associate white detailing and frills with winter which is why we absolutely love this trend: The white statement top has started appearing gradually more often on our feeds and the fashion pack is finding more creative ways to style it. Take model/ actress Emily Ratajkowski for one, who can't get enough of this look.

The beautiful actress pairs the top with high-waisted denim and bold coloured heels following the more chic and classic approach. Other fashion bloggers and editors opt for a more eccentric styling for example by layering it over skinny jeans like Yasmin Sewell and Pandora Sykes or clashing it with statement skirts and kitten heels or white trainers.

It's 80's appealed paired, with the current girlboss movement and a styling imagination it's the perpect piece of garment to spice up literally any wardrobe.

Check blazers are our absolute Instacrush as one of the most prominent insta and street style trends. For bloggers Leandra Medine, Pandora Sykes, to editor Sarah Harris, to Yasmin Sewell and .. it will be difficult to spot a member of the fashion pack without it. It's been another great Fashion month and now with PFW drawing the curtain we can round up the best moments and predict the trends that will inform the next Spring/ Summer season!

OVERALL TONE: GLAMOUR MEETS GLITTER!

We've seen a shift from blunt norm core to glitz and frivolity and after fashion month it's evident that this trend is here to stay. Designers want to celebrate the joy of life during darker times. Dries van Noten dedicated her collection to "The Optimist", who knows how to break the rules. The sneaker gave way to its more glamorous version of the Manolo - as a nod both to the glitz and glam but also to the Carrie Bradshaw look that defined the early 00's resurgence that we're experiencing now. We also saw puffed hemline dresses at Saint Laurent, as director Anthony Vaccarello paid a tribute to Pierre Berge, Yves Saint Lauren't long time business and life partner. The end result was a beautiful show of feathers, frills, shimmer and satin. Alessandro Del' Acqua's creations emphasized on big satin separates and glittery dresses full of bold patterns and colours. At Maison Margiela, John Galliano's version of glitz was crystals, feathers and mirror embellishments on coats and dresses. Makes you want to party no matter what.

PANTSUITS AT CELINE

Tennis Club de Paris: Phoebe Philo showcases a stunning collection at a giant-tent bubble structure while Mary J. Blige's rendition of "You're All I Need", blasted through the speakers. The runway was flocked with extra wearable garments for example oversized suits with large trench coats reminiscent of an 80's power businesswoman. The colour palette was equally 80s scrumptious meaning pistachio pastel pink and fair yellow. Another element introduced by CELINE was extreme fringing on the hem of flapper-style dresses. When it came to accessories the theme was volume: oversize totes, balloon like clutches, big gold buckle belts, and chunky white lace oxfords.

HELEN MIRREN & JANE FONDA at L'Oreal x Balmain

The location was Paris Champs de Elysees and the occasion was the L' Oreal x Balmain fall 2017 collaboration. The show starred an array of stunning models like Doutzeb Kroues and Liya Kebede and two movie icons Helen Mirren and Jane Fonda. Mirren was dresses in a suit a la garconne while whipping her cane around with prolific elegance and confidence. Jane Fonda on the other hand, threw peace signs and really owned the long runway. A true inspiration seeing two ladies well into their 70s (Jane Fonda turns 80 at the end of 2017) strutting their stuff with pride.

VIRGIL ABLOH RECREATES ICONIC DIANA SUITS

More specifically, Abloh took the people's princess most wearable looks as an inspiration board just four weeks after the 20th anniversary of her death. The challenge was to re-invent those items without sacrifising them and coming up with a collection that would be in line with the current fashion climate. The result was briliiantly made tartan suits, graphic prints, prim coctail suits, polished whites, polka dot suits, and pastel coloured numbers.

We know you may be experiencing street style fatigue as we're finally on the last 'instalment' of Fashion week month, but the fashion pack has truly saved the best for last. Inside PFW, Saint Laurent is causing shockwaves over his dismissal of covering genitalia, Yeezy's season 6 unpredicted appearance on the PFW calendar, and the fashion gliteratti that range from Carlie Kloss and Bella Hadid to Jennifer Lawrence and Katrine Deneuve are adding their sparkle.

The focus though was also on the street style trends that emerged and made our jaws dropped and our hands ready to click buy. We still have a few days to go until Paris Fashion Week 2018 draws to a close we rounded-up our favourite trends every street style photographer was dying to snap all week!

BERETS

Black leather berets have been trending for a while now, and though many French women might cringe at the accessory item for being overly associated to their style culture, most fashion influencers, street style stars and fashion editors made a serious nod to it by sporting it on most events. Only this time the styling was quite differentiated. A manly beret cap was often juxtaposed to a ball gown see Carlie Kloss for example or worn as part of a masculine khaki dungarees.

ROMANTIC DRESSES

There's always bound to be a bit of quintessentially Parisian trends during PFW. Apart from the beret styled in unexpected ways, the myriads of fashionistas also paid homage to the city of lights by going for extremely romantic ladylike dresses. The street style crowd didn't shy away from goinf full on Carrie Bradshaw at times (see Chiara Ferragni's pattern collision for example). Other street style stars going for the romantic dress look included Olivia Palermo, Roberta Benteler, and Carlie Kloss.

MOTOCROSS

This trend has resurfaced from the early 00's that are having a moment. Think Pink (literally) back in the day in her top-to-bottom white leather moto cross ensemble as she threw a motorbike through her ex-boyfriends window quite dramatically in one of her videos. Christina Aguilera also went simirarly bike crazy in Dirrty. Two weeks ago Rihanna made the resurgence official by dedicating her entire Fenty x Puma collection to the infamous naughts trend. Fashion influencers obviously took notice and sported the trend during PFW.

Browse though our gallery for more street style inspiration and buy all the essentials from our exclusive PFW edit below!
