Now that we're seeing the back of yet another season of London Fashion Week, let's take a moment to reflect on which shows over the years have captured the hearts and imaginations of everyone around the globe!

Scroll through our gallery above to see videos and imagery from shows of yesteryear.

From Alexander McQueen's Voss show in which Kate Moss and fellow models performed within a giant glass box (the finale is also quite spectacular!) to the time Prince performed on the catwalk at Matthew Williamson's SS08 show, take a peak at which designers did what to carve their mark on LFW...

Today Britain voted to leave the EU, after the Leave campaign won 52% of the vote. The vote has, understandably, caused a massive reaction from the public. With David Cameron stepping down in October, the uncertainty of what the consequences will be for the economy/NHS/everything.

It is a momentous decision, and while Britain's opinion has been divided, the majority of the fashion industry were strongly hoping for the remain campaign to win. A survey conducted by the British Fashion Council pre-vote showed that 90% of UK designers wanted to remain in the European Union over fears of an end to free trade, a weakening in the value of the pound and restrictions on foreign talent being able to attend British fashion institutions.

Vivienne Westwood, Alexa Chung, Lily Allen and many more have all passionately reacted. Scroll through our gallery above to read some of the fashion industry's reactions as seen on social media...

Three days gone, two to go. It's funny how we call it London Fashion Week, when it's only five days long, compared to NY's 10. Could we spread it out more evenly over a few more days? Well, the blisters on my feet wholeheartedly think so!

Many of the big hitters showed today, which goes some way to explain why 'Mad Monday' hasn't been as impactful in recent years; Sunday, it would seem, is the new Monday.

Topshop Unique, Alexander McQueen, Anya Hindmarch, Mary Katrantzou, Vivienne Westwood and Mulberry were just a few of the 'must-see' shows.

Topshop's FROW was definitely lacking the star pulling power its had in previous years in my view, although Karlie Kloss was a nice addition to the regulars- Jourdan, Suki and Lara.

Alexander McQueen's return to London was a huge triumph- inspired by butterflies, the intricate collection was so beautiful and delicate you would probably have a hard time wearing it unless you were a waif. BUT, undeniably it was stunning. Go Sarah, its your birthday.

Mulberry too was the focus of much whispers, as it made its return to the LFW runway three years after its genius CD stepped down and the brand began its decline. Did this collection under Johnny Coca go some way to saving its rep?

Yes and no in my view- there's definitely some Celine-esque touches in the new range of bags, but to me it still lacks the signature Mulberry style we all came to love. Perhaps it will take a season or two to convince me of Coca's worth.

Other highlights for us included being a mere two feet away from Liv Tyler (yes, really) at the Belstaff presentation.

Her capsule collection for the label was stunning- fur lined parkas, military inspired capes and lashings of leather all inspired by the 1920s aviator Amelia Earhart, who also happened to be a Belstaff beaut back in the day.

Well, that's it from me for now. Time to chill before the madness kicks off again tomorrow with Burberry, Christopher Kane & Erdem all taking centre stage...

Tartan! Reminiscent of kilts and punk rock attire, tartan's an iconic enough pattern that it's still going strong both on and off the runway.

A wardrobe essential if we ever saw one, any tartan item - dress, shirt, mini skirt and scarf - is a welcome addition to any women's winter wardrobe.

Not sure where to start looking for the perfect tartan piece for your clothes rack? Shop our edit below with items from Alexander McQueen, Vivienne Westwood, New Look, River Island, Burberry and more...
