Brows, they have transformed from the least important facial feature to the main focus in the last few years. Brows can frame your face, but be careful, depending on your face shape you may need to go for a different brow. When reshaping your brows, make sure not to over pluck.

For oval faces

Oval face shapes suit most looks, but a classic well balanced brow is best. Go for a soft angle, with a slight arch. Because an oval face is already well balanced, you don't need a strong brow to frame.

For heart-shaped faces

Sorry heart shaped ladies, but the bushy brow trend donned by the likes of Cara Delevingne and Emilia Calrke isn't for you. Your small jaw means that you want to emphasise the upper half of your face, therefore a well groomed brow is a must for you. Thin brows are never cute, but overgrown ones aren't for you either- you need to find the perfect balance.

For long faces

Most brow experts will tell you that the brow should end parallel to the corner of your eye, which is true for every other face shape, but not for you long ladies. You want to extend your features horizontally because naturally they are vertically stretched. Therefore, extend the brow past the corner of your eye, and go for for a flatter eyebrow shape.

For square faces

Your strong jawline should be matched by a strong brow. The stronger the jaw, the greater the angle. Angelina Jolie is a good woman to look to for inspiration, her brows make her features (even more) striking.

For round faces

In order to counteract the roundness of your face, you want your brows to give your face more definition. Thus, an angled brow, with a higher arch is best suited to you!

For diamond-shaped faces

You gals want to go for a soft, curved brow because your temple is the widest part of your face and you don't want to accentuate that by having an angular shape. With all this brow knowledge, you can now go forth and conquer the eyebrow game.

Whether you're a fan or not unicorn makeup is having a serious moment. Long associated with music festival culture it describes anything pastel or holographic applied with some elementary school enthusiasm. The key theme here is fantasy and creativity and the freedom to interpret it as you wish. Today we have one more reason to sport this uncanny makeup as it's National Unicorn Day which is celebrated in the US and the UK, so it's the perfect day to get out the glitter and immerse in anything rainbow.

Many brands and beauty companies are taking their piece of the pie by releasing countless unicorn products from brushes to palettes and colours. If you simply search Unicorn Beauty you'll come across a series of iridescent, and fantasy-inspired goodies.

UNICORN MAKEUP TUTORIAL

Everything starts with a great blank canvas, so begin by applying a base to smooth and clear your complexion. Next, take that concealer to cover dark circles and treat blemishes. Use your fingers so it's absorbed better from the skin. Now it's time to throw on some shades. Don't be colour shy. Using a blue pencil apply it to the back of your hand and transfer to the corner of your eye towards the middle of your lid. To set it, go over each colour with the same shade of powder with a fluffy blush.

Take an iridescent shadow to draw along the inner corner using an eyeliner brush. Now take a pink eyeliner pencil and draw along the bottom waterline. Define your eyes with a swipe of black mascara on top lashes and use a bold blue for your bottom lashes. Now that you're done with your eye makeup put it all together with a candy pink lipstick that works well with most complexions and also with whichever hue you may choose for your eyes.

Brows define more than your face turning women into icons. For the past few years, the bigger the better: thanks to the likes of Cara Delevingne, Lily Collins and Kaia Gerber, thick eyebrows have never been more in vogue than they are right now.

A throwback to the era of Audrey Hepburn and Elizabeth Taylor, thick brows give you a strong, sexy look and steal the show when paired with smokey eyes and a nude lip.

However, for those of us who weren't blessed with such genes, this is where the problem starts. But thanks to the magic of make up, you can fake it till you make it! Here is a small brow guide to help you through finding your perfect shape:

Natural brow

Following Kaia Gerber, her big brow-spiritual sister Cara, we are up for this trend. Embrace your natural shape and enhance it.Trim it or live it unplucked, it’s up to you! You can use some brow gel to style it a bit.

Curved

Far away from the '90s over-plucked version, this brow version has been popular on Youtube for a full glam look or a more natural one. Perfect for diamond shaped faces, the brows have a soft curve upward and taper at the end. To style it, go for a brow pencil featuring a squared off stiff.

Straight

Naturally arched or not, you can achieve this look. Great for oval face shapes, or thick brows, this shape is the Instagram one we have seen everywhere. Head for a brow pomade to get the look.

Soft arch

Great on everyone, this is probably the safest choice when it comes to picking a shape. With a thin tip pencil, you will have more control on your styling.

High arch

This shape will be the perfect choice for round faces, giving definition both to your face and thick eyebrows. Use some concealer to define the brow shape to its best.

While there are plenty of “how to” videos, we picked the Alexis Kaymor's step by step tutorial in the video above. A reference in the brow game, she will give you serious brow envy!

Over the past two rounds of fashion month, one recurring beauty trend we've spotted on the runways are graphic manicures; whether they've been bold and colourful or slick and monochromatic, there's a myriad of ways in which graphic and minimalist nails can be done.

From a dot to a line, a simple detail, this manicure was on every show: Opening Ceremony, Kate Spade, 3.1 Phillip Lim... you name it. Every colour is yours to play with, but our favour goes to black and metallic designs. And no need for a professional, you can try it yourself with a hair pin or pencil point dipped into nail polish before applying it to your nails. This minimal manicure won't let people indifferent.

If you're more into plain colours, this season trend is all about lilac, following the colour of the year Ultra Violet. From head to toes, you can embrace this soft, pastel colour, for a smooth entry into Spring.

And last but not least, metallic and glitter nail polishes are always there to bring some sparkle in your outfit. Shiny and glamorous make-up and outfits should not be limited to Christmas and Red Carpet, everyday should be a party, and that small fantasy will be the trick. And if you don't feel confident enough to rock a full sparkly manicure, an accent nail is an original way to embrace the trend.

We haven't forgotten about nail care either so check out what nail strengtheners and cuticle oils from OPI, Butter London, Nails Inc. and Deborah Lippmann we've lined up too... Shop our edit below!

Backstage at New York Fashion Week, amongst the clicking of heels, swirls of hairspray and flicks of mascara, hairstylist Anthony Turner said 'the blow-dry is back'. It's time to turn of the hair straighteners and give the tongs a miss too. The only styling tool you need this season is your hairdryer. Sleek, glossy hair is where it's at. I am loving this look. A blow-dry always manages to look glam even if it's a done yourself. I've recently started to get more into haircare and my top two products for keeping it healthy are coconut oil and a heat protection spray. To get that perfect at home blow-dry head over to YouTube to find your ideal style, there is a tutorial for everyone. Image: Rex Features

Look at your hands: how you decorate your nails is pretty telling. A polish or manicure every few weeks suggests you’re pretty into your beauty, whether it’s a standard couple of coats or an elaborate nail art design; while a lack of funds/patience to DIY, or having a job where you use your hands a lot are conclusions that could be drawn from completely au natural nails. But are you stuck in rut, (whisper it) bored with your go-to style, or do you want your nails to be different to everyone else’s?

Enter the new minimal nails we’ve spotted doing the rounds on social media. These nails are as pared back as they come with just a dot, line or simple shape for detail below a shiny clear topcoat. Technically any colour goes but we’re loving the black and metallic designs the most and the best thing about them is how easy and quick they are to actually do. And there’s no need to pay a professional if you don’t want to because you can literally dip a hair pin or pencil point into a nail polish and apply the dot in less than a minute for each finger. It’s minimum effort for maximum impact so there’s no excuse not to try this designs out for yourself. Think of the compliments you’ll get when you finally get your hands out of those gloves.

Non-touring, it kinda does what it says on the tin. Contouring took the beauty world by storm a few years back, but now there's a movement against it and the millions of ways to contour...let me introduce you to non-touring. Instead of a heavy contour, non-touring is very light. It's the perfect balance between contouring and strobing.

Use Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid as your inspiration, as they've got non-touring down.

The 3 Steps

1) Start with a primer that has a luminous finish, like Tom Fords, and apply an even layer over your skin.

2) Rather than using a full-coverage foundation, go for a BB cream or tinted moisturiser, and add concealer where needed.

3) Now this is the important step. Apply your highlighter of choice, one that matches your skin tone (read this if you're unsure) to above the cheekbones, under the brow bone, down the bridge of your nose and on the cupids bow. Essentially, this technique will give the illusion of contour through the way the highlight contrasts with your natural skin tone.
