The lingerie as outerwear trend is certainly nothing new, but there’s one trend that seems to roll back around every single summer. The slinky slip dress is always on-trend and the likes of Kendall Jenner, Bella Hadid and Selena Gomez always seem to be rocking the sexy throwback look.

The great thing about a slip dress is just how versatile it can be. An ivory-toned floor-length slip can make for a wondrous wedding dress, a red slip dress can look amazing on a night out while a black slip worn with a white tee and a pair of sneakers is your ultimate daywear go-to.

When it comes to styling, layering a plain white t-shirt, blouse or statement shirt is not only chic but very practical too. Ideal from the office to the bar or just for brunch with friends, a slip-style dress over cool contemporary layers is an effortless look.

Simply team your slip with a pair of mules, a messy bun and an IT-bag and whatever the occasion, you’re good to go.

The reality is you don't need a whole lot to make a jumpsuit work and that’s the beauty of rocking one. Want to know ow to wear a jumpsuit this summer? We’ve put together a few simple tips on how to style yours. After all, less is more…

For daytime, opt for a cool boxy or slouchy style and put it on with a pair of sneakers, a drawstring bag and a cool denim jacket.

For work, go for a pussy bow blouse or a slogan tee under your jumpsuit. Add a blazer for an office-appropriate look, or a kimono for a more casual approach. For after dark, wear a check number over a black tee, just like Fashion Director Lisa Aiken, or pair a black jumpsuit with strappy heels for a fail-safe look.

Remember, there are numerous ways to style one jumpsuit so you can wear it from the office to the club.

One of the hottest pieces to own right now is a kimono. Dating back to 14th century Japan, the robe-style jacket has been a street style favorite in recent years and shows no signs of letting up. Although there are  a wide array of lengths, patterns and fabrics ranging from casual to luxe printed silk, a kimono has the power to  instantly jazz up your outfit without much effort.

Our Editors have agreed on the four ways you’ll want to wear your kimono this summer so take note, fashion fans...

Go simple

Choose a pair of high-waisted jeans, a basic tee and throw on your kimono of choice. Pair your outfit with mules or Greek-style sandals for undeniable summer wow factor.

Go tonal

Don your favorite shade of cover-up and opt for a  tonal color from head to toe. No denim necessary, just rock your go-to hue. For the beach

For a great holiday look simply wear your kimono over a one-piece swimsuit and pair it with slides, an XXL beach bag and your signature sunnies.

Do stripes

Don't be afraid to experiment with different prints and patterns. A striped cover-up is your go-to as an alternative office jacket. Pair it with slim fit pants, a blouse, a wicker bag and sunnies for an effortlessly cool look.

Even though band tees are nothing new, they're always on trend. Worn originally for no other purpose than to show your love for the music, now they've become a certified status symbol, with a ton of designers creating their own iterations.

Band T-shirts are an off-duty staple for celebs and influencers from Kendall Jenner's AC/DC and Slasher tees, to Gigi Hadid rocking a Metallica design, stars love an excuse to give their favourite acts a nod.

Now you might think a band tee should be strictly reserved for your off-duty line-up, but that’s where you’re wrong. We happen to think you can rock one for every occasion, so here’s how to style yours according to our Editors…

For off-duty

Pair your band tee with a pair of high-waisted jeans for an effortlessly cool look. Add ankle boots, vintage sunnies and a fedora hat for major rock 'n’ roll vibes. Or, in warmer weather, throw on your slides and distressed denim shorts in a pale wash or bright white hue.

For brunch

Opt for a relaxed look by wearing your T-shirt with a long summer skirt, espadrilles, a straw hat and an XXL bag containing all your day-to-day essentials.

For the gym

Rock your band tee over yoga-ready leggings, trainers and have your music up loud. Well, blasting your favourite band's tunes is optional, but we recommend it.

For travelling

For true rockstar feels work your band tee into your travel line-up. Wear it with a pair of relaxed culottes, comfy slides, sunnies and a snuggly scarf for those long-haul flights.

For the office

Finally, make a statement in a T-shirt with wide-leg, high-waisted trousers and heels. A cool block-heeled mule will elevate your look so all you’ll need to do is add an elegant shoulder bag and a chunky watch for keeping track of your meetings.

There's no doubt that with balmy temperatures arriving there'll be a slew of outdoor events in our calendars and the obvious winner is brunch. Nothing quite beats sitting outside a café sipping rose and munching on pancakes in summer, does it?

This is a pretty casual event, so what should one wear for a brunch date? Half lazy, late breakfast with friends, half excuse to dress up like a lady who lunches, we want something that's a mix between comfortable and chic. We looked to our Editors to select four outfits to help you nail dressing for brunch with ease…

Keep things flirty with a crochet dress, strappy sandals and a straw hat. Add a long scarf or denim jacket for those chilly mornings.

Go for a casual look by donning a pair of cut-off jeans, a cool slogan tee and a cardigan. Chanel some sass by throwing a pair of mules to the mix and complete the ensemble with an XXL bag.

Opt for muted, neutral tones with a pair of white straight-leg jeans, a relaxed tee, espadrilles and a basket bag that you'll be wearing all summer long.

Polka dot dresses are everywhere this season. Style yours with a pair of cute ankle boots, a pair of vintage sunnies and a round-handle bag.

Now that summer’s here, it’s time to give your warm-weather wardrobe an overhaul. There are a few rules stylish men swear by when it comes to building a half-decent summer capsule and they are as follows…

Go tonal

Shades of blue will always complement one another and the same goes for bright summer tones like red, pink and yellow too. With a few options at your disposal, there’ll always be an opportunity to switch up your look with minimal fuss.

Statement piece

Every summer line-up should boast a healthy dose of print. Opt for cool patterned shorts and a few printed shirts and pair both with pared-down pieces in complementary tones.

Double up

A classic white tee or light shirt is the foundation of a holiday wardrobe, and they come in pretty handy when the sun decides to shine at home too. Invest in a few identical styles to mix and match with your tonal and statement pieces and you’ll always be prepared for a sunny day.

Cool off

Swap your leather shoes for a pair of breezy canvas trainers – ideal for kicking it on a city break, roaming the wilderness or just straight chilling. Our go-to is Superga, who offer up a ton of cotton canvas styles that were basically invented for summer.

Elevate it

Lend your look a little polish with a tan leather belt, low-key sunnies and a statement watch – just make sure it’s waterproof before you hit the pool.

Warmer weather, brighter days and longer nights mean after-work drinks and dinners are now high on the agenda. There’s nothing quite like enjoying a little afternoon sun on a Friday after a long week at work.

Regrettably, going from boardroom to bar can pose a number of outfit-related conundrums, but don’t fret. We’ve put together a few tips and a helpful edit to ensure you rock your way through Friday and into the weekend via your favourite haunts in style.

Colour pop

A little colour never hurt anybody and if you’re planning on heading out after work, a statement flash of colour or print works a charm. Elevate your office-ready look with a colourful jacket, printed skirt, bright shoes or some next-level statement earrings in pink, neon yellow or coral orange.

Layer up

You won’t be able to get away with a bralette and high-waisted shorts in your daily meetings – that goes without saying – however, you can rock an off-duty summer look at work if you opt for light layers. Team a leather mini with block-heeled sandals and a lacy cami, then layer a smart shirt or cool tee, add pared-down accessories and you’re good to go.

Well heeled

Desk to dark shoes are a great investment. A classic court is always office appropriate so don’t be afraid to don those Louboutins. If it’s a warm day, opt for a heeled sandal or a platform for a more low-key approach.

Accessorise

A few statement accessories can transform any outfit. Lend your pared-down look a little flair with oversized earrings, a luxe designer bag, gold-toned bangles and delicate layered necklaces to offset your décolletage.

Dakota Johnson belongs to Hollywood royalty but made her own name, starring in Fifty Shades of Grey and later becoming a Gucci muse. Now the actress is set to star in the much-anticipated adaptation of the horror film Suspiria.

She'll be heading up the cast of the 1977 classic alongside Chloe Grace Moretz, Mia Goth and an unrecognizable Tilda Swinton. The Fifty Shades of Grey star is known for her role choices as well as her understated style.

For red carpet she opts for long silhouettes, like the white Proenza Schouler number she rocked at a screening of Call Me By Your Name, in New York. Usually you'll find her in Gucci, whether it's the Met Gala, Fashion Week or the Oscars, where she donned a show-stopping gold gown…

For her off-duty looks you'll find her sporting a simple pair of denim cut-offs with a plain shirt, or slogan tee,  a fedora hat, sunnies and an indie scarf. Her hack for remaining chic at all times is adding designer accessories such as an oversized Gucci tote, a velvet duster coat and Gucci brogues.

Bella Thorne is known for her unique fashion sense. Despite fashion's tantrums and changes of heart Bella stays true to her niche sense of style. The actress who became popular from her roles in TV shows such as Shake it up and Famous in love, knows how to put her own touch on any outfit.

She hit  the carpet at the age of ten in 2008. Now just before her 20th birthday her style has evolved dramatically. Glitter, mesh and bold make-up are among her go-to choices when stepping out on the red carpet.

To emulate her red carpet style opt for a long dress  in burgundy with mesh detailing. Choose minimal silver jewelllery and heavy make up including a bold lip and a cat eye with thick eyelashes.

To infuse some of Bella's off-duty wisdom go for slogan tee, denim cut-offs, designers sneakers and oversized shirt.

Today is Star Wars day and across the world, people are celebrating the retro movie franchise that first hit our screens in 1977 – whether by rocking a vintage tee or sharing their favourite quotes from the many films created by George Lucas.
