With so many gorgeous pieces dropping with the onset of each new season it can be tricky trying to figure out which pieces are worth investing in. Cue the rise of the designer rental market. Brands like Rent The Runway make it easy to rock the latest IT-bag or designer dress for a fraction of the cost.

So whether you've a one-off occasion coming up or you want to try out every fall trend without splurging, here are the pieces you might want to consider renting instead of making a full investment in this season...

A party dress

Sequins and statement prints are going to be huge this fall, but realistically, how much wear are you going to get out of an embellished party dress? Save your money for staple pieces and try out the trend without the commitment.

A statement coat

While it’s always worth investing in a classic coat – think camel, black and navy – this season’s statement styles may not be still be so cool in a couple of years. Tartan, houndstooth and bright colors are all key looks for fall, so grab them now.

A bold bag

Logo prints and neon hues are big on the street style scene, but they don’t exactly scream timeless. If you’re still not sure if it’s worth splashing the cash on this season’s bold bag trends, play it safe and rent one instead.

A printed jacket

Probably the easiest way to refresh your wardrobe, a printed jacket will make your go-to jeans and sweater feel completely new. Animal prints and military styles are the ones to look out for right now.

Retro sunglasses

Sunglasses aren’t just for summer – they’re the easiest way to work this season’s retro trend, and they’ll look so good with a faux-fur coat. Look for an oversized cat-eye pair in a bright color or tortoiseshell print.

It’s official: corduroy is cool again. First seen on the Fall ‘18 runway, we’re now spotting the trend on some of our favorite influencers. Here’s how to work the trend into your seasonal wardrobe.

If you’re looking to try this season’s ‘70s trend, this is the perfect way to do it. Try wide-leg pants in tan or camel and keep the look modern with a simple gray sweater or a silk shirt.

Show-goers at Fashion Week were snapped wearing cord head to toe, which looked especially cool in fresh, bright hues. Try an an oversized jacket and a skirt for a contemporary feel and finish the look with a simple white T-shirt.

If in doubt, keep it simple. A classic corduroy jacket will look effortlessly cool with a pair of jeans. Any shape goes: blazers, trench coats and quilted styles were all spotted on the runway, so take your pick.

The army jacket is back and it's cooler than ever. An off-duty staple made essential by the likes of Kate Moss, Olivia Palermo and Alexa Chung, the olive-toned military jacket is a fall must-have once again.

Cool, grungy and incredibly versatile, team yours with anything from distressed denim and boots to a belted midi dress and spike heels. Take cues from Anine Bing and rock yours with skinny leather pants and a neckerchief or opt for a simple Breton tee and pleated skirt combo.

Perfect layered over a cozy sweater or thrown over a shift dress, the styling possibilities are endless. Plus, when the weather gets colder, simply team yours with knitted accessories and biker boots.

If you’re the sort of person who’d rather rock a pared-down tote and tee than an IT-bag and a sweater with logos plastered all over it, just hear us out…

While we’re not making a case for logo overkill, there are some pretty chic ways to rock a designer logo – see ‘90s-inspired Calvin Klein tees and iconic Gucci bags.

Plus, plenty of our favourite brands have put a contemporary twist on the trend too – see Off-WhiteTM and Moschino.

The phrase ‘less is more’ is a good one to bear in mind here so consider pairing your bold logo-adorned pieces with neutral separates for the weekend and smart tailoring for on-duty.

Want to try the effortlessly cool logo look for yourself? Browse our edit below and shop our favourite pieces from the likes of Balenciaga, Karl Lagerfeld and Givenchy…

As Fall 2018 seems not so far away, we should start to check out the trend of the upcoming season. If you’re about going all the way with fashion trends, here is something you will love to try; extreme layering! As winter is colder and summer is hotter these past few years, I’d never say no to layering. Wear your hoodie over a sweater, then wear a jacket, then wear a vest on top… If you think you will look ridiculous think again… Because now it is a trend! #layering #layer #trend #autumn #fall #winter #streetstyle #style #fashion

If the boho style is your thing, ponchos are the key to keeping you warm this season. Wear them with jeans and a shirt or a high-collared top, for a comfortable but less expected look than a simple sweater. Do not misunderstand me, I love sweaters, but there is no way to use a garment that goes outside the norm and also is like being-literally- wrapped in a blanket. Credits: Pinterest
