Hands up if you only watch the Super Bowl for the American national anthem and the halftime show? Us too, and also for an annual real life sighting of the supermodel Gisele as she supports her husband, the record-breaking star New England Patriots quarterback, Tom Brady with their family. Although this year the 5 time world champions didn’t retain their trophy in Super Bowl LII as the so-called ‘underdogs’ Philadelphia Eagles beat them 41-33, with Brandon Graham's incredible strip-sack knocking the ball out of Brady’s hands. That’s a very rough summary of the actual American football played because we were most excited to see Justin Timberlake in his comeback gig, to crown the release of his new album 'Man of the Woods.' P!nk had wowed belting out ’The Star-Spangled Banner’ with the flu earlier on.

Timberlake had a tough task following Lady Gaga’s epic performance last year and Beyonce’s stunning politically-charged rendition of ‘Formation’ the year before, and the talented singer-dancer didn’t quite reach the same heights. His mandate seemed to be family friendly rather than forward-thinking and so Timberlake dutifully delivered: slickly dancing his way through a medley of his greatest hits including ‘Rock your Body’ (which he did at his 2003 Super Bowl show with Janet Jackson that lead to #nipplegate), ‘Señorita’, ‘My Love’, ‘Sexy Back’, 'Cry me a River', ‘Suit and Tie’, ‘End of Time’ at a piano and ‘Can’t Stop The Feeling’ to close.

There were no NSYNC, Janet Jackson or ‘Filthy’ robot appearances but plenty of backing dancers, a live brass band and a few sound issues; and Timberlake did pay tribute to the late Prince, as the game was being staged in his hometown Minnesota, by covering ‘I Would Die 4 U’. The late legendary artist was projected next to him as a video rather than a ‘demonic’ hologram and his fans weren’t happy as Prince reportedly didn’t like Timberlake. Unlike longterm Timberlake’s fans from his NSYNC and ‘Justified' days who voiced their approval on social media, but the whole thing did little to inspire a new generation, as the young man who got a selfie with Timberlake hinted by his actions.

What Timberlake wore also sparked plenty of debate and memes. Fresh out of Stella McCartney’s AW18 menswear collection (so not in stores yet) and in line with his new ‘country with R’n’b roots’ sound, he sported a deer scene shirt with a cameo splatter print and Prince of Wales check suit, a red bandana around his neck, a fringed leather jacket and chunky white Nike sneakers which looked like custom Jordans. GQ has full details/sketches and it was the most progressive thing about the performance- a fresh way to pull off clashing prints for men.

So if you want to, or you’d like your boyfriend to dress like Timberlake, admire his instagram shots in the gallery above, watch the halftime show here and then shop our edit of similar styles below.

The Super Bowl has long been associated with being more than just a game. It's a US national holiday that celebrates everything truly American: football, TV and advertising. It's a super showcase that sets advertisers back $5 million per second. On football's biggest night, the New England Patriots faced off the Philadelphia Eagles on one of the coldest games in history. The Eagles were able to defeat the Patriots with a final score of 41-33 winning their first ever Super Bowl championship.

During the much-anticipated halftime show, Pink sang the "Star Spangled Banner" before her favourite team, the Eagles, flooded the stage. Then Timberlake took to the stage for the first time after the controversial performance with Janet Jackson in 2004. He began in a basement of a nightclub which turned out to be the foundations of the stage. After making a few grimaces to his dancers he emerged off the ground with a medley of his 00's hits: Rock Your Body, Seniorita, SexyBack and many more.

JT then covered "I Would Die 4 U" as a tribute to the Purple Rain singer alongside a video of the late singer. The visual wasn't exactly a hologram and for good reason. Back in 1998, Prince had compared the idea of him being presented on stage as a hologram "demonic". Sheila E. had confirmed via Twitter that Timberlake would avoid performing with a hologram. The projected image though of Prince performing in the back caused a Twitter uproar. From comments to jokes, it was a Twitter rampage. One user pointed out that they preferred "Odell Beckham and Eli Manning covering Dirty Dancing" to JT's performance.

His outfit was head-to-toe Stella McCartney, in keeping with his latest Americana rebrand. And he's not the only one. The Western Americana styling has been making the rounds as one of the biggest trends of the season. Kendall Jenner, Bella Hadid and sister Gigi have been spotted many Americana items from pearl embellished denim jackets to western style boots, distressed jeans or leather biker jackets.

It's widely known that queen Adele, singer/songwriter extraordinaire, shuns big performances - although fans were excited that she did headline the big Glastonbury festival this year. Now, she's making headlines for turning down an offer to perform in the half-time show for next year's Superbowl!

Playing the Superbowl would be a dream for thousands of musicians, putting them on tier with past half-time stars like Paul McCartney, Beyonce, and Katy Perry. So why would Adele turn it down? Because she's a purist, all about the music! She reportedly said that the Superbowl is "not about music" at all, which we can't really deny.

She also said that she was not interested in dancing around and putting on a show. And why should she? With a voice like that, that's all she needs! The NFL of course denied making Adele an offer, since they want to keep the headliner a surprise until their own announcement.

If you're sad about missing out on Adele during the big game in February, just grab a ticket to one of her concerts, and you'll get to hear her perform "Hello" and "Rolling In The Deep" in person!

If you can't make it, at least you'll always have her online performances! Enjoy this above video in which Adele sings Hello on The Tonight Show!

If you haven't seen Beyonce's new video, "Formation", yet, stop what you're doing right now and watch it! She dropped it the day before the Super Bowl, then went on to perform her new work at halftime, sending the media world into a tizzy.

Queen Bey highlighted black issues in her video & performance by using imagery borrowed from Hurricane Katrina, police terror, and the Black Panthers. Saturday Night Live just had to do a piece on it, naturally!

They don't call her Queen B for nothing, as Chris Martin found out to his cost sharing the stage with her at the Super Bowl this weekend!

Fans collectively agreed on social that Beyonce owned the show, with Bruno Mars coming a close second and then, bless them Coldplay got a mention.

To further rub salt into the wounds, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin has revealed to Rolling Stone Magazine that Bey's reaction to one of their new tracks  called ‘Hook Up’ was less than positive, with the Formation singer commenting: “I really like you - but this is awful.”

OUCH. Apparently it's all in good spirits however, as the two have a very good working relationship and by all accounts looked mighty chummy at the weekend. No hard feelings, eh Chris?!

One of the most watched show in American television just finished and it's time to celebrate the win of Denver Broncos, NFL's Super Bowl 50 champions! With a final score of 24 - 10 against underdogs Carolina Panthers, Broncos earned their 3rd NFL Super Bowl championship.

But you know you're here to get all the deets about the celebrity sightings, appearances, and of course performances at the Super Bowl, well here's the rundown:

1. There were 4 performers at this year's Super Bowl: Lady Gaga, Coldplay, Bruno Mars and Beyonce.

2. Lady Gaga's National Anthem performance was well-applauded as the singer gave a great rendition of the song and of course, plus points for her super patriotic look- red gown and eyes, blonde hair, and blue nails, how can you go wrong?!

3. The Halftime Performance - a medley of songs to celebrate the past, present, and future started off with Coldplay performing their hit songs "Viva La Vida" and "Yellow", transitioning to Bruno Mars' "Uptown Funk" that got the crowd going wild, and of course slays it with a grand entrance from Queen Bey in a Michael Jackson inspired outfit and her girl squad performing her newest single, "Formation". The trio ended their performance with a tribute to all the Super Bowl halftime performers such as Stevie Wonder, Rolling Stones, etc.

While this jam-packed, 15 minute halftime show was a thrill to watch, of course fandoms have made sure their favorite artist gets the most praise, with Bey leading the throne, Bruno as second, and Coldplay, well.. they kinda disappeared from the headlines. It was mostly Bey and Bruno that got all the well deserved woo-hoo after their performances.

Celebrities spotted such as Alicia Keys (who had a performance in San Francisco as well), Gwyneth Paltrow, Derek & Julianne Hough, Kate Hudson, Brooklyn and David Beckham, Alessandra Ambrosio, Ryan Reynolds, among many others supporting their chosen teams playing on the field.

Watch the Superbowl performances by scrolling right, and check out our edit of Super Bowl performers style and Broncos gear you can rock to work this week!
