Monotone dressing was quite popular this fall and winter. As we’re getting closer and closer to 2018 the streetstyle trends are signalling us that monotone is out and colourblocking is in. Monotone dressing is a way to be bold and it is great to make a statement. Yet, colourblocking is even better since it makes an even bolder statement in dressing. The most popular trend is colourblocking red and pink since it is the best way to show off the trend. The clash of the two colours make your outfit look bold and bright. With this trend you’ll definitely be turning heads. #monotone #monochrome #colourblocking #streetstyle #trend #fashion #spring #summer

Vinyl is everywhere. Especially red vinyl and black vinyl trousersç Yet Spring Summer 2018 is getting an update about this shiny fabric. Now it’s transparent and sparkly. Chanel’s Spring Summer 2018 show was literally an overload of transparent PVC raincoats, hats and accessories. This trend is perfect to show off what you’re wearing while protecting yourself from the rain. Remember the transparent thigh high boots trend? Now its not just the boots, it is every single item that you can get your hands on. #PVC #vinyl #trend #transparent #streetstyle #chanel #spring #summer

Chainmail made its latest epic comeback in the finale of the Versace Spring Summer 18 show back in September. Carla Bruni, Claudia Schiffer, Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford and Helena Christensen, five of the original supermodels, dazzled in shimmering gold chainmail gowns and strutted down the runaway hand-in-hand with Donatella Versace in tribute to the designer’s late brother Gianni. Besides breaking the internet as the most instagrammed moment of fashion month, gold or ‘goddess’ chainmail entered the spotlight.

It was Paco Rabanne who helped popularise the fierce, futuristic fabric in the ’60s as part of the Space Age movement, although none of his dresses were as naked as Paris Hilton’s at her 21st birthday party in 2002. The heiress’ cowl neck silver chainmail mini dress was previously pop culture’s most enduring image of chainmail, chicly recreated by Kendall Jenner at her own 21st birthday celebrations last year. Defined as a flexible armour of small metal rings linked together, allowing tantalising peeks of skin, it’s the perfect attention-seeking material for a New Year Eve’s party outfit. No-one will be able to tear their eyes away from you as you shimmer your way around the room. Now that the age-defying supers have proved that chainmail doesn’t have to be silver or only worn by pretty young things, try it out. It’s a much cooler way to do metallics, glittering without actual glitter specks, and there’s a rainbow of shades now available.

Check out our inspiration gallery above and then pick your most flattering cut or piece from our ready-to-shop edit below.

You’ll bring in the new year with a bang!

In our never-ending search for the ultimate party accessory, we stumbled upon a bag that's making waves across social media as the new style of it-bags. Although this would be one of the chicest ways to rock Christmas evening attire, this specific accessory is completely wearable with a pair of jeans and a blazer. The design and embellishments amp the level up to a true decorative piece that can elevate any outfit - daywear or evening wear. If the summer past was an ode to rustic totes, bamboo style creations (thanks, CULT GAIA) and mini velvet bodybags (see Gucci) this time it's time to bring out the pearl tote.

You may not see it as the most practical of the bunch but it's definitely got the retro aesthetic down to a T. The beaded bag was inspired by Shrimps Antonia bag, as well as the pink-faux-fur Graham clutch with beaded embellishments. Sasah Alexandra's multicolour version, as well as Vanina's cult Camelia crossbody, are adorned by the fashion elite: From Leandra Medine to Pandora Sykes, Camille Chariere Maria Bernard and Laura Jackson, it seems that everyone wants a piece of the vintage trend.

Want it too? Scroll down below for our exclusive selection of beaded bags.

If you packed away your '90s slip dress at the first hint of cold, you’re seriously missing a trick. This wardrobe hero was made for layering so, after putting a t-shirt underneath it during the summer, why don’t you add a top or body with longer sleeves and a higher neck? The benefit is obvious- extra warmth- plus there’s way more fabric space to embellish and play with. Think ribbed turtlenecks, buttoned-up collars and extra-long shirt cuffs, and even a sequinned sleeve to make this throw-on-and-go look very NYE.

What these slips do create is a slinky silhouette so stay clear of bulky base layers and anything that will ruin the lines. Paring these two pieces together is also a great opportunity to boldly colour block with bright accessories or keep things monochrome and tonal. Clashing textures and patterns is another way to keep this partnership fresh, along with a statement earring or bag slung over one shoulder.

Check out the gallery above for styling inspiration and shop our favourite slip + long sleeve top pairings below.

So pointy. So sexy! ‘Buy them immediately’ was our instant reaction to the vampy mule. And by ‘vampy’, we mean the sensibly heeled mules’ latest makeover- a V-shaped slit in the vamp, mirroring the sharp toe. Some of them even allow a tantalising flash of toe cleavage. They are streetstyle stars turned designers Giorgia Tordini and Gilda Ambrosio’s signature shoe don’t you know, for their contemporary party-perfect Italian brand Attico. Available in a range of materials and finishes, these trendsetters style them with a rainbow of chic ankle buckles.

Vampy mules aren’t completely new, though, because Balenciaga’s knife point satin mules- bowed and in Quality Street wrapper shades- were the streetstyle hit of the summer, with editors waxing lyrical about their polarising-but-amazing qualities. Then Finery London released their Cudworth style in patent black which might just be the ultimate 18 hour shoe. If you’ve been looking for a pair of heels to take you from desk to disco, without packing flats in your bag for the journey home, these are they. Use them to add an enticing edge to dresses, tailoring and off-duty dressing and let the compliments roll in.
