Loving this comfy looking jumpsuit worn by @georgiamayheath. Despite being cold-shoulder it certainly looks warm and would be perfect to wear during the New Year! Find this particular style @rebelliousfashion or shop around! Credit: Georgia May Heath Instagram

There's no better time to update your lighting and set your space aglow with a floor lamp or ceiling light! Black Friday is that perfect time of the year to make the necessary investments without breaking the bank. You’ll be amazed at the difference lighting can make to the overall decor of your home. From sleek shapes to glistening wall lamps, find the perfect style for your living space.

Lumens is illuminating the lighting scene with stunning pieces and trendy styles. Get a modern makeover and elevate your living space with floor lamps, table lamps, shades, wall lamps and designer lighting.

If you want to make a bold statement, go for a bow lamp, or for an utterly decadent option, choose a globe chandelier in frosted glass. For industrial urban elegance, opt for a discoco pendant that consists of a series of lacquered discs that float around a chromed semi-sphere. The result is a distinct and unique light which fills and enriches any space.
Get on trend with metallics or marry vintage with modern and go for a Marimba LED pendant.

If you want to restructure your bedroom go for a Worth Bed - a Japanese-inspired style with a low profile hardwood frame. This dreamy look is complimented with a split headboard containing a center seam amplifying its elegance and harmony.

For a modern design your choice ought to be the Copeland Furniture Astrid Bedroom Collection! The design is an engineering feat, with improbable deep splayed legs creating a particularly dramatic cantilevered effect. The angular base and solid hardwood construction are featured in all of the Astrid beds, nightstands, and dressers.

Revamp your interior today with the flip of a switch and don’t miss out on our beautiful selection of lighting and bedroom design ideas below.

Save up to 75% on over 140+ brands during the Black Friday Sale. Use code: GIFT for a free gift with any qualifying $300 purchase. Sale runs 11/20-11/26.

NYC born, Carolyn Compres is the author and Founder the C Statement and a contributor to Taste The Style. She's a Fashion Merchandising student, wife and mama of two who feeds on chocolate and vino. She's an amazing example of a young mum with an exquisite sense of style and our Influencer Focus this week! We caught up with Carolyn and talked about current go-to items, her personal style and all that behind-the-scenes-work that goes in maintaining a blog today.

What compelled you to start a blog?#500050">

I had always wanted to do it but it wasn’t until I gave birth to my first daughter and had to spend a lot of my time at home that I did it. I didn’t feel like I could be at an office from 9-5 because my daughter was too young and I just couldn’t do leave her (first baby problems). Doing this really made me think of things I could do from home and that I was still passionate about, and it occurred to me that I had always wanted to blog. I had a lot of fears, especially the fear of being judged but I got passed them and did it. I am extremely glad I did because I couldn’t be happier with what I have accomplished in a year.#500050">

What's your relationship with fashion? How did it start and what motivates you to keep at it?

Ever since I was a little girl I was extremely passionate about dressing up. I guess it started by seeing my mom and looking at her dress up, it just made me really interested in fashion. I used to collect Vogue Magazines back when I lived in the Dominican Republic and I knew I wanted to dress like those people I saw on the magazines. It’s not hard to keep motivated at it because I feel it comes naturally but sometimes I get a ‘fashion block’ just like writers do and that’s when it becomes a little harder.#500050">

How would you define your personal style? Do you have any icons people accounts that you follow?#500050">

I don’t have a definition for my personal style. I would like to think I am a chameleon, I am willing to try anything at all and I guess that what makes my style. When it comes to inspiration, my biggest inspiration is everyone and everything I see on the streets of NY. Instagram accounts that inspire me are @alwaysjudging and @mirandamakaroff. Both very different styles, but they inspire me in so many ways on a daily basis.#500050">

What do you enjoy most about mixing and matching high street with high end clothing i.e. from YOOX?#500050">

To me, it has always been about the clothing. It doesn’t matter what brands I am shopping or how much does it cost, all that matters is that I like it and I think that’s what I love about it. Using clothes that you are genuinely proud of wearing and not because someone is paying you or because it is socially acceptable to wear it.#500050">

Can you give us 3 styling rules that you abide by?#500050">

I don’t think there are any rules in fashion and that’s what I love about it. You should wear whatever you feel like wearing and forget about the rules.#500050">

What are your current go-to items when getting ready in the morning?#500050">

My current go-to items in the morning are my white Mango boots, my Gucci belt, and my Tory Burch sweater (Its freezing in NY).#500050">

What's the biggest misconception about having your own blog?#500050">

I think the biggest misconception about having a blog is that you need to wear certain items, or that you need to follow certain rules. Be yourself, be confident, and don’t give a shit about what others think.#500050">

What's your morning routine? (makeup beauty styling breakfast)#500050">

I love skin care, and it’s something I want to talk a lot more about with my audience. Although it might sound vain, but your face is so important because everything you do with it people will see. There is no covering up, although makeup helps it isn’t magic. That’s why having a good beauty routine is important, I am still learning about my face therefor not claiming to know anything about it but the most important thing about my morning routine is my skincare routine, I wash my face with AvĂšne : Cleanance Gel, then I tone with Caudalie: Beauty Elixir, then I essence with SK-II: Facial Treatment Essence, then I use a serum from the Glossier 3 pack and then moisturize with AvĂšne: Cleanance Expert, and finish with Milk Makeup’s: Cooling Water for under eye puffiness and  Sunshine Skin Tint which contains both SPF and a little bit of preservative free foundation. I am not a breakfast person but I always have a Starbucks Grande Nonfat Capuccino to go!

What projects are you working on now?#500050">

There are many exciting projects on the works. A lot of brand collaborations coming at the end of the month and then there are other personal projects I am little too superstitious to tell just yet.

#EmilyRatajkowski has just launched her swimwear line #Inamorata. The collection encompasses three bikinis and three one-pieces. I love the balance of retro and contemporary. The off the shoulder style looks chic and the bows make for pretty detailing. Polka dots, leopard print and block colours are all sleek and fun. Prices start at $75 so I might be sticking to the high street brands for now but if I could splurge I'd be packing this in my suitcase next summer.

It was already behind that to go with any t-shirt and pants to walk around the gym. New collections of sportswear arrive. Because more and more we try to follow a proper diet and exercise routine. So, we will always have time to wear these types of garments. A sportswear that we love and that at the same time, is at a high price. No need to pay a lot for some leggings and tops that we can comfortably wear every day. Head to our gallery for more inspiration! Credits: Pinterest

Sometimes they are a tendency during some seasons, and others disappear until making us forget their existence. Stripes are occasionally tricky to combine, but they are always a beautiful alternative that never goes unnoticed. Shirts, dresses, skirts, all striped shirt style this season. You like?
