A face without freckles really is like 'a sky without stars' (Natasha Bedingfield was right!), and now your face can sparkle just like the night sky with the best beauty trend to come out of festivals. Glitter. Any decent Boots will carry reasonably priced pots of Barry M body glitter to carry your Year 6 school-disco staple into 2018 festival season, and no self-respecting tipsy girl will be dancing in a field without it this spring/summer. For a few years now the trend has been going strong, but new styles are always emerging to revive it. Application to cheekbones and under-eye areas are popular methods to boost highlighter brightness, but all-over speckled looks like the one above can be ethereal in their charmingly hap-dash appearance, perfect for weekends spent in woodland retreats. Experiment on big nights out to find your favourite glitter look before festival season kicks into gear. PS. A warning: you'll be finding glitter in places where glitter has never been before, months after the tents are packed up and empty cider bottles recycled, but the sparkle is worth it. Go forth and shine bright! [Photo cred.: Pinterest]

Ice cream chic is a now thing and well before gelato season. Fashion's affinity for the pastel pile-up from the cones to the runway took the form of head-to-toe violet at Victoria Beckham, lemon sorbet at Hermés and pistachio hues at Sies Marjan.

At Helmut Lang, Shayne Oliver took blushing pink and morphed it into its adversary: fetishwear, while Raf Simons at Calvin Klein took baby blue babydolls and turned them into a Rosemary's Baby sinister version. This playfulness aesthetic came about at a year that yearns for aggressive celebration. Winter's metallics, feathers, glitter, rainbows and all round sparkle surrounding a Buz Luhrmann movie set, is the perfect testament to the celebratory moto.

Feel good fashion also was translated into pencil skirts and sheer layers that we can wiggle and shimmy in. Our staples like our trench coats, faux fur coats slip dresses and boots are receiving the joyful reincarnation of their own. Embellishments, diamonds, broaches, and lavish bandanas that would make any fashion girl sigh.

Stockholm Fashion Editor and street style extraordinaire Jeanette Madsen is an ice cream hue aficionado. She has the engaging ability to effortlessly combine pastel shades and evading the baby connotations at the same time.

Purchasing an engagement ring is a very personal experience. It can take up to several months of research, observations and how intently you know your partner to come up with the perfect ring option. In order to avoid research burnout, focus on researching the designs you think your partner might like. Take a snoop in their jewellery box if you have any doubts or discreetly ask their closest friends.

With all the engagements for the past season, we've been noticing a wide array of ring silhouettes and sizes. Most of those precious stones have been showcased on multiple celebrities and influencers and range from petite to quite large proportions. But don't worry so much about size. There is a correlation between dress size, height and ring size. You can get it right by simply ensuring that the ring goes over the knuckle.

When opting for a ring check that it was certified by the GIA, in other words, the world's most popular grading laboratory. To make things easier just check that there is a laser inscription of its own unique certification number.

Get more for your money by opting for the most amount of sparkle that is affordable. If you go for a smaller diamond just make sure that it's perfectly calibrated for cut, colour, clarity and size.

Get creative. This season specifically, you can also add the just recently growing trend of the sideways-oval trend. Allow us to elaborate. In an attempt to make the ring more unique and less traditional there is a tendency for classic solitaire or pavé setting employes to infuse a cool edge to the ring and make it feel less bridal.

With Valentine's day around the corner, we're sure that you have planned something special with your chosen one. He's picked the restaurant, he's made the reservations, you've planned your outfit including an expensive new dress and your favourite metallic clutch that goes with your metallic ankle boots. But what about Beauty? We have you covered, find out below our 6 Step Beauty Guide to Nail Valentine's Day.

1. Brow to Perfection

It is said that brows introduce you before you speak because they frame your face. So you don't want to leave it to chance. Go for a eye brow pencil, or shadow and a pair of tweezers and get to work!

2. Time to De-Puff

There's nothing wrong than prepping for your big date and dealing with huge puffy eyes - due to water retention or lack of sleep (you are a busy woman after all). You call a reliable concealer to the rescue, but even that alone cannot do its job. This time opt for a great under eye patch and relax for 15 minutes. It really works wonders!

3. Prep your pins

There's no better time to show off your legs than on a V Day date. So post bath, lather your legs in a nourishing body cream with a light scent like raspberry or coconut that will leave your skin smooth and silky.

4. Makeup Wonder

When it comes to makeup, it's always best to find everything in one place. A tonal rouge or eye shadows can ensure that you use the best shades that compliment each other. Add a thick eyeliner and you're ready to steal the show!

5. Shimmer n Glow

Speaking of make up we couldn't leave behind a little sparkle. Backstage at Paris Couture Fashion Week it was all about the blush, so it's time to embellish on that healthy sparkly glow!

6. Nail Perfection.

Some women suggest that if you have mastered your manicure you can easily leave the house with no make up and look elegant. Spend a little more time on those cuticles, apply one or two coats of your favourite shade and finish it off with a coat of lacquer. Now you're ready to meet your beau!

Who said that you had to leave the denim items in your wardrobe only for casual occasions? Just like the early naughties, the party jeans are gaining back their reputation as capable LBD alternatives. Emily Ratajkowski certainly thinks so. She sported a pair of straight legged denim jeans with ripped hems with an ethereal silky embroidered kimono by The Kooples to add a bit of glam to the outfit.

She wanted to add a bit more definition and sparkle to her evening look so she placed a pearl and crystal belt around her waist. She put her hair in a half - up Bardot-esque do for the ultimate effortless sexy result. She finished off the look with a pair of black heeled sandals and a leopard print bag.

For a more comprehensive evening look go for a sequinned black top, and pair it with a belt over the knee black boots and a bright coloured tote bag.

Let the top speak for itself and go for a statement off the shoulder ruffled top and pair it with mules and a cute leather clutch.

Channel your inner Victorian vibe and go for the appropriate volume sleeved shirt, soft leather mules and an embroidered drawstring bag. Ready to sport your denim this weekend?

The Critics Choice Awards are just another excuse for us to look at more mesmerising red carpet gowns. This year the award ceremony's red carpet exceed expectations because of its predecessor, the Golden Globes, featuring only black gowns. So you can understand our yearning for colour, patterns and bold silhouettes. And after careful consideration, we have to admit that the CCA did not disappoint!

The stars turned up on the carpet decked in a rainbow of colours and lots of sparkle! For example, Wonder Woman Gal Gadot opted for glitz in a sparkly Prada silver dress, Yara Shahidi and Octavia Spencer went for royal purple, while Mary Elizabeth Winsted from Fargo, opted for a dreamy colourful chiffon dress. Nicole Kidman's pink see-though was an absolute showstopper while Olivia Munn dazzled in a red dress embellished with precious stones.
