We love those rare moments of pure fashion optimism, like the one we're seeing now: designers are presenting bold colourful rainbow patterns in defiance of all-black everything. From '70s - inspired T-shirts and hoodies to technicolor skirts and show-stopping striped dresses. So during your spring clean this season, consider an influx of rainbow-patterned pieces to update your look and put a smile on your face.

Wondering what rainbow-inspired items to buy?

We've compiled a comprehensive checklist with all the colourful pieces to shop now...

Straight from the runway

Take cues from Peter Pilotto and Dolce & Gabbana SS18 and adopt a bold, bright rainbow-hued wardrobe full of statement dresses, T-shirts and accessories.

The knit

Invest in a rainbow knit that will take you from the colder temperatures into spring and summer with ease.

The pants

Go for a sporty iteration with a pair of white trousers with flattering rainbow-hued stripes – a cool twist on the trending tuxedo pant of last year.

The technicolor skirt

For an extra dose of swag go for a sparkly version of a rainbow shaded skirt. We agree the with Alice + Olivia's motto that The World Needs More Sparkle, indeed.

That '70s tee

Opt for a rainbow striped t-shirt or a bright patterned piece for colourful retro vibes.

The unapologetic bag

Who says a handbag has to be monochrome? Instead, use your bag as a decorative accessory featuring rainbow stripes – the bolder the better.

A spectrum of hues

Heading off on an early summer vacay? Invest in a colourful striped one-piece swimsuit and make it pop by adding white accessories.

Editor's choice: Hesitant to try the trend? Then go for some rainbow-inspired accessories – earrings, pendants, bracelets and rings that will infuse your look with playful attitude.

Head to our gallery for more inspiration and shop your fave pieces from our exclusive edit below...

Temperatures may be hitting new lows and making us reach for the blanket scarf before reaching for our toothbrush in the morning but, sunglasses are a year-long staple that can really make an outfit or at least give it character. If you're skIing then you know sunglasses in winter are a necessity as the UV rays are most harmful in those climates.

With Spring break underway you may also be planning a quick getaway at an exotic and warm destination so we couldn't think of a better time to indulge in a new pair of sunnies that you'll wear throughout your entire trip. Lately, our Insta feeds have been buzzing with a new set of sunnies that instantly make us smile and add an undeniable 50's vibe to our entire look. We're talking about the heart-shaped sunglasses that are both chic and have a distinct vintage aesthetic.

Influenced by the surge of the YSL heart-shaped numbers many brands have created great alternative versions that are more affordable. Leandra Medine, clearly a fan of the sunnies selfie shot has at least a dozen images sporting this look.

The YSL Loulou sunglasses are nothing but fun and you can sport them now by shopping your favourite style from our exclusive edit below!#000000; background-color: transparent">

Red lips on Valentine’s day seems like the perfect beauty tradition. Not only can you leave cute kiss marks everywhere from your lover’s face to a note and on the mirror; they’re also bold and self-empowering. Slick on your most flattering shade (you might need professional help to find it), and your eyes are brighter, your smile wider and your pout is all the more enticing. It’s no coincidence that some of the biggest bombshells like Marilyn Monroe and cartoon Jessica Rabbit have made red lipstick their signature. And even though red is the tried-and tested colour of seduction, often used to uplift a LBD for unprecedented glamour after dark, it has plenty of daytime mileage with denim and neutrals as well.

But you can’t deny how high maintenance red lips are. And not really suitable for actual kissing either because one unintentional facial smudge or teeth smear kills the magic. There’s a lot of prep involved too: lips need to be exfoliated, then outlined and contoured before filling in (Kylie Jenner popularised over-lining: where you draw beyond your lip line to create the illusion of fuller lips). Matte, gloss or stain is the key question and determines the impact. Matte is dramatic but gloss will catch the light more and a stain is the most natural of the bunch with just a hint of colour. Keep last season’s just-kissed lipstick trend in mind as well because the slightly smudged application is gorgeous and adds an air of nonchalance.

For the past few seasons, we have noticed the charcoal appearing just about everywhere. From our healthcare routines to our dental care, facecare even as a detergent for our dishes. There have been numerous studies and articles anyway about the unequivocal benefits of using charcoal in our everyday routines. So where can you use charcoal and which are the individual benefits? Don't worry we have you covered. Just read on below for more tips:

PERFECT SMILE

Charcoal has amazing whitening properties for teeth. It can really accelerate the process by removing persistent stains and discolourations. But be careful you cannot use it more than a few times per week. Also, if you choose to use it don't be taken aback the first time when you apply it as it will make your entire mouth black. Just rinse thoroughly after brushing and it should leave you with a white sparkling smile.

DISHWEAR

Just like with dental care, charcoal has amazing benefits for cleaning dishes. Just add a small spoonful of raw charcoal in your regular detergent and you'll notice instant amazing results. Works great not only for removing stains but also for making stainless steel look extra shiny! Double whammy, more for your money!

FOOD & DRINKS

You may have noticed this trend emerging last year of adding a bit of charcoal to our nutrition. And for good reason. Activated charcoal prevents cellular damage to kidneys and liver. It also helps the body flush out the toxins and chemicals that cause the damage. Expect charcoal lemonades, charcoal lattes even pitch black charcoal pancakes!

FACIAL ROUTINE

Probably the most popular lifestyle use of activated charcoal is for our facial routines. Opt for a charcoal-infused face cleanser or scrub to remove impurities from your face. Add a charcoal mask which works wonders on black spots and age discolourations. Just make sure to moisturize thoroughly after application for the best results!

Are you ready to add a bit of charcoal in your everyday routine? Check out our expert edit below!

We're almost in time for Valentine's Day and our thoughts are immediately turning to finding the perfect gift for our loved one. Even though not all of us like Valentine's day, yet there's bound to be a person in our life that we want to show our love to. And what better way to do it than during cupid's  holiday? Whether you're a hopeless romantic or an irreverent sceptic and consider this a holiday for capitalism, it shouldn't bother you because a day spent celebrating love is never a waste. Even if you're a singleton or die-hard lovebirds this is the time to find the perfect gift from our edit of VDay themed items perfect for your best mate, boyfriend or girlfriend.

RED ALERT

We have long associated the holiday with this colour of passion (no need to cringe) so you can opt for a present from lingerie to a t-shirt a decorative piece or even a piece of funky jewellery in tomato red.

SLOGAN TEES

Speaking of T-shirts browse through a variety of slogan tees that are in the VDay theme. The simpler the better. If you're in a relationship for a while why not wear his name up your sleeve. Do you think that's borderline groupie? As Gigi Hadid proved, sporting an uber cool Zayn top, groupie never looked as fashionable. Choose laughs. If there's a novelty VDay gift that will make your beau smile then, by all means, go for it. There's no better medicine than laughter after all.

PERSONALISE

Knowing what your loved one wants and also going as far as inscribing a gift and giving it a personal touch is probably your best bet when opting for your loved ones present. Just do your research beforehand as personalised gifts can't be returned.

Ready to share your love with the world? Scroll down and opt for your favourite gift from our expert edit.

We always knew Rita Ora was at least a triple threat and the singer/actress/model (she’s a designer and presenter too) proved it with three on-point outfits in one night as she worked the pre-Grammy party circuit. Which sounds a bit excessive unless you’ve got the world’s most exciting brands at your disposal and fans watching your every move. First up was Ora’s take on the Canadian tuxedo- a denim jacket with denim jeans- which was unbuttoned enough to reveal a lacy black bra underneath. Besides breathing new life into the exposed underwear trend, the white heels she wore with it gave this cool, streetstyle worthy look a ladylike twist. A quick change later and Ora entered full bombshell mode, posing up a storm in a black figure-hugging dress with signature red lips and her blonde locks swept up into a tousled up-do. For her performance and final look, she went for a ruffled pink playsuit and sky high heels as she belted out her songs. Only blingy silver jewellery featured in all three looks.

Kudos to Ora for expressing three different sides of her sartorial personality like a pro and proving that the trick to looking good and feeling great is confidence. It’s good to switch up your look once in a while and she’s clearly comfortable in everything she’s wearing. We can’t wait to see her final turn as Mia Grey in Fifty Shades Freed which is out next month.

Smile and follow her lead by shopping these looks in the gallery above in the expert edits below.

You probably heard about the controversy surrounding one of H&M’s kids slogan hoodies earlier this month by now. Which got us thinking about the perils of wearing a seemingly innocent slogan without considering the repercussions. Because as that story showed, you might not be offended by the message spelled out but other people who see you in real life and/or on social media in it might be and they could aggressively confront you about it. Swear words (disguised or not) and double entendres are most problematic as you have no idea of knowing what meaning individuals place of different words or phrases. On the other hand, why should you and your clothing be censored? One of fashion’s fundamental principles is freedom of expression and we are lucky enough to live in a country where we can wear what we want. While there are lines that shouldn’t be crossed (nothing discriminatory, racist, homophobic, sexist etc), you should be able to wear your sense of humour or thoughtfully share your opinion should you wish.

As a general rule of thumb, though, we’d say if you’re in doubt, don’t wear it out. Stick to the positive, easy-to-laugh at, empowering and motivational phrases that are sure to spark a smile or provoke conversation. Also be sure that you believe in and stand by what your hoodie says as you will be judged by it. Dior arguably sparked the new wave of slogan clothing with their ‘We should all be feminists’ t-shirt, inspired by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s powerful Ted talk and essay, and printing or embroidering words on a warmer hoodie is a winter-perfect upgrade.

We’ve rounded up our favourite slogan hoodies for women, men and children for you to shop in our edit below.

There's no need to forget about the holiday spirit just after Christmas day. Many people suffer from post-holiday blues because of all that hype leading to one day alone. But in reality, even if there are no more presents under the Christmas tree there's no reason you can't extend the celebration period.

Invest in cosy statement knitwear that makes you smile. Winter clothing is by definition less colourful unless we're talking about Christmas sweaters. So why not take the chance and invest in a few warmers that make you feel all "Christmasy" inside?

Speaking of warmers there's nothing like having friends over and catching up over a cup of hot cocoa with marshmallows. Put a little more effort into it by making the house seem cosier. Add lighting and decorations.

Finally, there's nothing like cooking with friends. Open up a new recipe book and have a stay-at-home dinner with your best friends, family or loved ones. Just make sure you know who is responsible for the dishes.

This week Shopcade profiles Giorgina Clavarino, the influencer with the very poignant blog name entitled “Giorgina With an Eye”. The former Business school student talks to us about her dream closet, her collab with the playful Mira Mikati brand as she takes us through her morning routine and the elements that define her eclectic sense of personal style.

What compelled you to start a blog? I’m a hyperactive person, so unless I have 100 things to do I am not satisfied with what I have accomplished at the end of the day. The search for new challenges is what made me start my Fashion blog. In 2014, I was finishing my studies at Cass Business School in London and had lots of spare time, so I decided I would actively fill it up with something I was passionate about. I knew my studies at Cass were important because I’ve always dreamed of starting a business of my own one day. I also missed being more creative and having an outlet where I could just share what I loved, which is what my blog became. I had been following The Sartorialist for quite some time, and I loved how he shared photographs of street style in NY and loved how inspirational it was. I think this is what gave me the inspiration and the courage to test myself by starting a blog of my own, to share what I loved too!
#222222">
#222222">What's your relationship with fashion? How did it start and what motivates you to keep at it? I grew up in Milan, so fashion flows in everyone’s blood there. When you grow up in a city which is one of the world’s fashion capitals, you are indoctrinated with fashion from a young age. This probably explains why I was so into fashion since I was about 5. There is always the expectation to be flawless and up to speed with trends all the time. #222222">I think that the person that influenced my style the most however, has been my mother. She has always been a bit of a hippie, which is why since I was 10 I’ve loved wearing Minnetonka, boot cut jeans and have messy beachy hair. #222222">I remember my mother always used to buy stacks of magazines we would flick through together and rip off everything we loved and then make huge collages that I still have hanging in my bedroom in Milan. This then led to me creating my own scrap books, which I considered to be my own bespoke ‘Vogue’ editions, that my friends loved flicking through. The blog was then the evolution #222222">of the scrap book – a virtual version that I could share with more people. What keeps me going is my love for fashion. I know it sounds cheesy but it’s the truth. The creativity, the work, the influences that go behind the fashion industry, the way that you brand your products, the packaging, how you photograph it, the visions of the designers, the styling of the stylists, all the processes from beginning to end inspire me daily and are what motivates me to turn on my blog for a couple of hours a day and write something personal that made me think, laugh, smile, inspired that I want to share with other people.
#222222">
#222222">How would you define your personal style? Do you have any icons people accounts that you follow? When I moved to London my style changed a lot. I love Italian style, but it’s often too timeless and never too daring. Exactly the opposite of what I am, I always love wearing flamboyant clothes, whether it’s wearing a funky hat, a colourful pair of trousers, glittery shoes, or socks. In London you are more liberal, you can experiment with styles and are constantly influenced by different street styles, which in fact are my major influence. I love what people are wearing in the streets, I look at photographs and often attempt to recreate with my twist on what they are wearing. I love doing lots of stuff myself too, whether #222222">its dissembling an old pair of Levi’s, or sewing things onto jackets, designing my own jewellery. My other influences are Frida Kahlo, because I loved how colourful and exuberant her style was. She wasn’t afraid of being different, or better, of being herself. Jane Birkin, as she taught me how to look effortlessly cool with a simple pair of jeans and blouse. Kate Moss, because she always risked and wore the sickest clothes, from leather pants to colourful coats. And finally, to be more contemporary, #222222">I love ‘The Man Repeller’ and Leandra Medine. It’s an account I closely follow on Instagram, as I love how she combines clothes and never takes herself too seriously.
#222222">
#222222">What do you enjoy most about mixing and matching high street with high-end clothing?Proving that style goes beyond the brands you are wearing.
#222222">
#222222">How did the collab with Mira Mikati come about in Winter Wonderland? What are your favourite items from the latest collection and how would you style them? When I saw the collection I immediately imagined them to be captured in Winter Wonderland. Her clothes are so colourful that I wanted to put them in a fun and #222222">cool environment, that I could camouflage myself in. Every piece of Mira Mikati is very exuberant and colourful, so I would style them as I did on Instagram, with a simple pair of jeans to make the coats and jumpers stand out. I love colours in winter, but you must find a balance, so that the focus goes on the hero piece you are wearing e.g. the faux rainbow coat, or a yellow coat.
#222222">
#222222">Can you give us 3 styling rules that you abide by?
#222222">
#222222">1. Mom jeans

2. A pair of ‘70s converse that will go with almost everything

3. A lipstick that lifts every outfit
#222222">
#222222">Whose closet would you raid if you had the chance? Probably Leandra Medine.
#222222">
#222222">What's the biggest misconception about having your own blog? That it’s easy!
#222222">
#222222">What's your morning routine? I never wear lots of make-up, as I am too lazy and always too late to spend too much time on it. When I wake up though I always wash my face with Clinique Anti-Blemish Solution face wash, then clean my face with Kiehl’s Cucumber Herbal Toner and apply Clinique Anti-Blemish hydrant visage. I then add a very thin layer of Light Wonder by Charlotte Tilbury to give that fresh glow for the day and a bit of waterproof mascara by Eyeko. To finish I spray a bit of Twilly d’Hermes to be perfumed all day. I usually then have breakfast at work, which is either salmon on toast and a cappuccino or bread and Nutella. Life is too short to eat healthy all the time, especially in the mornings!
#222222">
#222222">What projects are you working on now? Big projects are still TBC! So stay tuned to discover more in 2018!
