It's very easy to get a bit blue just before Christmas. It gets darker quickly especially on the 21st of December. So it's understandable that you might need a bit of pick me up wardrobe to put a halt on those winter blues.

You can start by amping up that colour palette. For example trade in those black and deep browns for a pastel pink, a bright yellow, a sumptuous violet (great for 2018) or a luscious tomato red. If colour doesn't do it then turn to one of the most prominent trends of the year: sequins. Opt for a sparkly blazer, a skirt with studs or a flapper dress with tassels - it's party season after all so a bit of glitz and glam is in order.

Finally if all else fails, turn to gold and high stiletto heels - combine them for double the effect! And if you've been particularly good this year and expect a treat why not go all out? A designer splurge is the ultimate mood lifter after all - and what better way to celebrate than with a velvet Gucci belt bag one of our biggest lust-haves of the year!

In case you somehow missed it, tomorrow Friday December 15th we're sporting our Christmas Sweaters with pride. Launched in 2011 the annual celebration of Christmas Sweater Day is not as silly as you may think. Actually there is a reason in wearing that colourful, brash and slightly embarrassing jumper. There is more to wearing those seasonal knits featuring Rudolph, Christmas puddings and Frosty the Snowman. It’s the fundraising event with a serious aim in aid of Save the Children. It’s an umbrella that helps to drive charity funds for organisations that help children on a global scale.

As the trend has being going on for some years many retailers have put a more stylish spin into the historically awkward Christmas sweater. From Boohoo and Forever21, Nasty Gal, Lord & Taylor as well as SAKS Fifth Avenue, you’ll definitely discover a style that doesn’t make you cringe. This year try to style it with a cool leather jacket, a vinyl skirt and ankle boots and blend that overtly Christmas spirit into a more cohesive party outfit! Have a look at our gallery for more inspo on how to wear the Christmas Jumper and shop you’re favourite style from our edit below!

Yes, double denim is back. The classic Canadian tuxedo comprising of a denim shirt and pair of trousers is making a comeback but this time it's getting a very European facelift. Although the combination still relies on the mix of trousers and shirt but this time that shirt is getting an update. The simple button-down shirt is replaced by a mis-buttoned denim jacket or the denim of the jacket and pair of trousers is briefly interrupted by a chunky roll-neck sweater or a frilly long dress.

Go for the ultimate Canadian tuxedo moment by pairing the denim jacket blankly with a pair of denim trousers or try a denim skirt or culottes for effect. This platitudinous trend's re-emergence is attributed to Creative Director of Vetements Demna Gvasalia who first ignited the idea during the SS17 menswear collection.

With the latest Star Wars film The Last Jedi due for UK release this week, Daisy Ridley has stepped back into the spotlight in glorious style. The English actress, who reprised her role as Rey, wowed at the LA premiere this past weekend in a star-spangled Monse midi covered in glittering sequins. A stylish nod to the film, the setting and her star tattoo, Ridley twirled down the red carpet showing off the fringed skirt, which took her look further out of this world.

Ridley, 25, scored American Vogue and UK ELLE covers this year but it’s her red carpet looks that have cemented her status as a chic newcomer. With stylist Petra Flannery’s help, she’s really mixed it up- stepping out in and making memorable Dior, Mary Katrantzou and Chanel looks her own. There’s a little hint of Keira Knightley about the actress as well and she’s definitely catching up with the Pirates of the Caribbean star in the fashion stakes.

This time, the impressive stage that has served as the framework for the Chanel show has been the Hamburg concert hall. With the orchestra playing classical music, Karl Lagerfeld presented a feminine and elegant collection for the 2018 prefall collection. Of course, the traditional jacket and tweed skirt suits have been the main protagonists of the collection. Credits: hypebeast

The ever growing demands of work and life require frequent flyers, frequent train hoppers and definitely a few frequent roadtrippers so it comes as no surprise that this is a gift guide that had to be done. The jetset troupe is no longer an elite few of wealthy groups setting off to Barbados at the drop of a hat, it's dare I say all of us? So it's about time we got the perfect attire for it. You'll want to start with luggage.

A cute, compact carry on with a matching suitcase or two, a cool laptop sleeve, eye mask, sunglasses and comfy wardrobe choices. Opt for a loosely fitted pair of trousers or a skirt, ankle boots or trainers and a big saul scarf can go a long way when you're looking to protect yourself from air conditioning but also create a cosy nook for a quick on board shut eye.

As the weather gets colder it's easy to aim for comfort more than style. And it's completely understandable. Who want to wake up before the sun has had its morning coffee and brace chilly temperatures in a skirt and stiletto heels? Not us. In the search for the most optimal shoe  option to strike the comfy/ chic conundrum we concurred that flat is not always the answer. To the contrary a little bump in your height by 3.5 cm is the perfect addition to give you a few extra inches a longer silhouette and let's face it some confidence without making you scream with excruciating back pain.

I’m absolutely in love with fashion blogger, Kayla’s style! Her looks are always so well put together and this outfit is no exception. Mustard is a colour which is such a huge trend at the moment, so it’s great to see her incorporate fashionable colours into her outfits! The patches on the denim skirt also add such a quirky twist, I’m obsessed! #ootd #kaylahadlington #bloggerstyle #fashioninspo Photo Credit: @kaylahadlington on Twitter
