KIMSU is putting Berlin’s jewellery scene on the map. Launched there in October 2017 after less than a year of development, founders Sue Woo Kim and Roberto Bertinetti deliver sophisticated handcrafted jewellery but they also strive to empower women and be respectful to the environment as they do so. Every KIMSU piece works on different levels: they’re designed to be aesthetically pleasing and to help the woman wearing it find her strength and confidently get in touch with her feminine side. The original and sometimes abstract geometric forms of the earrings, necklaces and rings imitate strong symbols of strength and have an intriguing architectural air. And only recycled silver is used by the self-described ethical and socially responsible brand, along with the finest coloured gemstones and a unique and exclusive shade of gold.

KIMSU definitely plays to and expresses its founders’ strengths and passions as well. Creative Director Kim received a gold ring for her first birthday, as per Korean tradition, which sparked her personal passion for jewellery; and her interior design and architecture background is very evident in the visual aesthetic, graphics and the jewellery itself which she designs. Business and marketing is Bertinetti's forte and focus as brand CEO following years of working in digital marketing and being part of an entrepreneurial family. Based on the belief that the tiniest symbols and gestures can ignite a passion within, dynamic triangles, circles and rectangles all star in KIMSU’s standout debut collection. We’ve got our eye on one of the layered circle rings or the dramatic drop earrings we’ll be tucking our hair behind our ears to show off.

We’re predicting big things for KIMSU so shop our edit of key styles below to be able to smugly say you owned it first.

Chainmail made its latest epic comeback in the finale of the Versace Spring Summer 18 show back in September. Carla Bruni, Claudia Schiffer, Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford and Helena Christensen, five of the original supermodels, dazzled in shimmering gold chainmail gowns and strutted down the runaway hand-in-hand with Donatella Versace in tribute to the designer’s late brother Gianni. Besides breaking the internet as the most instagrammed moment of fashion month, gold or ‘goddess’ chainmail entered the spotlight.

It was Paco Rabanne who helped popularise the fierce, futuristic fabric in the ’60s as part of the Space Age movement, although none of his dresses were as naked as Paris Hilton’s at her 21st birthday party in 2002. The heiress’ cowl neck silver chainmail mini dress was previously pop culture’s most enduring image of chainmail, chicly recreated by Kendall Jenner at her own 21st birthday celebrations last year. Defined as a flexible armour of small metal rings linked together, allowing tantalising peeks of skin, it’s the perfect attention-seeking material for a New Year Eve’s party outfit. No-one will be able to tear their eyes away from you as you shimmer your way around the room. Now that the age-defying supers have proved that chainmail doesn’t have to be silver or only worn by pretty young things, try it out. It’s a much cooler way to do metallics, glittering without actual glitter specks, and there’s a rainbow of shades now available.

You’ll bring in the new year with a bang!

There's a certain personal element when buying a piece of jewellery for someone. Selecting jewellery is completely dependant on individual style and rarely adheres to any rules or current trends. Although we may be prone to buy a funky earring like a bold coloured tassel number when it comes to precious jewellery aiming for elegant and timeless is the best practice. After examining the style of the person that will wear the gift choose on modern versus classic.

Go for tassel, chandelier earrings or statement architectural earrings to be completely on trend for this season. If trends are not important then opt for a classic drop earring or a pair of classic pearl earrings. Go for a matching necklace or choose a necklace with multiple layers for a nonchalant effect that is oh-so-chic. Opt for an array of bold and colourful bracelets for your maximalist friend or conversely go for a classic silver bracelet for the minimalist. And while you're at it why not get it personalised for bonus points!

These looks dare to be bold and out there. What could be more eye-catching than double denim in two shades or shimmery silver flares? Try some unique this week, perhaps something you wouldn't normally wear and see what the reaction is. @beebeardsworth @daisymaybe #ontrend #original #outthere Credit: British Vogue Instagram

This is such a great option for party season, I'm just so hypnotized by the stunning electric blue tone in this velvet jumpsuit. This is by far that kind of outfit that everyone would stare at when you walk into a room. I would wear it with dainty jewelry and some silver pumps. And you, how would you wear this look? Interior design is one of the most satisfying things to try out, especially when you move into a new home. There's nothing better than choosing styles and furniture that suit your personality to a T. So here are a few suggestions to really get your inspiration going! • Try designing a room using only three colours. Using one colour can be boring and make a room feel quite plain and not as homely; however adding an extra colour or two can really bring that little bit more vibrancy. Obviously choose colours that match or compliment each other well. Personally, I would go for grey, a light purple/violet and silver. • Try a vintage inspired look. There are thousands of beautiful pieces of vintage furniture out there and putting them all together will add character to your house or a particular room. One feature piece that I love is an old vintage type writer! • Decide whether you want wallpaper or painted walls. This can be a tricky decision as some types of wallpaper can be a little full on when they cover an entire room. In this case, you could choose to have one wall as the feature wall, this being covered in your chosen wallpaper, and then the rest of the walls painted. Again, make sure the colour of the paint suits the wallpaper. • Pick a theme. It is always nice to have some type of theme within a room. This could be based on a colour, or the type of furniture, or even an era. You might decide that you want something quite floral, or abstract, but again it depends on the room you are designing. At the end of the day the decision is up to you so be creative! Photo credit: Pinterest

An outfit is not complete without an extra bit of sparkle, and Bulgari definitely makes a statement as an Italian brand of jewellery. Its creations capture the essence of beauty and here are just a few descriptions of their collections. The Fine Jewellery Collections include a range of necklaces, bracelets and rings all of which are styled by Roman inspiration. The B.ZERO1 necklace collection comprises mainly of various rose gold and/or silver hoops engraved with the brand name, which hang on a simple yet elegant chain. The Serpenti collection is a unique snake-inspired design, beautifully crafted into both bracelets and necklaces. Each collection is unique and special in its own way and the designs just scream elegance. For a makeup that will catch all eyes in party season, try the double glitter eyeliner look. You can choose a darker color for you upper lash line, and a lighter color for the lower. I'm thinking midnight blue, emerald green or a gunmetal for the upper color and rose gold, silver or a light copper for the lower. Or you could alternate the colors if you want to. The eyeliners of the image, are the #maybelline Master Ink Metallic Liners. Great quality and budget friendly. Photo Credit: @maybelline
