Tacos have gone from one of the most to a very notable fashion trend. It all started with the birth of the taco emoji back in 2015, a few mentions on Netflix series Girlboss and yeap on fashion design.

QUICK TACO-HISTORY

Although we don't know exactly the taco's roots, the prominent theory is that they hail from 18th century silver mines in Mexico, because in those mines the word “taco” referred to the little charges they would use to excavate the ore. The first references to the taco came from the end of the 19th century and they were described as tacos de minero—miner’s tacos.

HOW DO YOU MAKE TACOS?

This is the simplest way to make tacos:

Steps

Cook beef in a frying pan over medium heat 8 to 10 minutes, stir occasionally, until it turns brown and  then drain.

Stir ready made taco salsa (although you could make your own) into beef. Heat until it starts to boil while stirring constantly. Then you can reduce the heat to medium-low.

Finally, heat the taco shells and serve them with beef mixture, lettuce, tomato and cheese. Done!

TACO - FASHION IS NOT TACKY

At least in 2017, where the taco print is definitely more high fashion and less awkward tourist (who forgot to pack more than one t-shirt spilt sauce on the first one and now has to walk around with a taco-shirt on in museums.) Inherently keeping it's humorous nature, taco merchandising is quite fashionable and it doesn't hurt that they come in mustard. One of the biggest colour trends of 2017.

HOW TO WEAR THE TACO TREND?

Add a few pieces here and there while keeping the rest of your outfit muted. Oh! And always keep your sense of humour!

This season the jewelry edit and the earring selection, in particular, has never been more exciting. Designers are offering a wide range of wondrous creations: from revamping everyday objects into masterful treasures, adding glitz and glam on party girl earrings, or even infusing mysticism in vintage looking majestic pieces. This season Céline, Stella McCartney and Michael Kors were only a few of the designers who presented a series of showstoppers.

The main styles that dominated the catwalks were ear cuffs that have successfully made the transition from a basic punk accessory to a jewellery classic as seen at Mulberry, Oscar de la Renta, and Saint-Laurent. Chandelier earrings were another great trend of the season, especially at Céline. The great news is that a statement earring can transform both a cocktail dress and a casual jeans and T-shirt combo.

The largest trend amongst designers were golden hoops in a vast array of colours, designs and embellishments especially at Alexander McQueen, Fendi and Michael Kors. The most impressive trend though was undoubtedly the mismatched route. Picking and mixing a silver hoop with a chunky gold number was especially popular at Marc Jacobs and Maison Margiela. The best thing is that you don't have to pay the hefty price tag to nail this look as any type of earring goes!

Have a look below at our exclusive edit of the earrings you need to own this season!

Here’s what happened in this week’s resort shows.

Prada and Chanel were the first to display their resort 2018 shows on the catwalk. In true splendour, Karl Lagerfeld and Miuccia Prada presented us with some spectacular shows, both equally as impressive with hints sparkle!

In Paris, Chanel cruise 2018 set the scene in Ancient Grece…packed with drama! Stepping back into an era of draped gold and white grecian gowns, ornate headpieces ad fine jewellery as well as gladiator sandals and gloves. Karl presented true classical glamour, with a Chanel twist. Chanel girls included models Mica Arganaraz, Marjan Jonkman and Ana Ewers, and attendees Keira Knightley and Yara Shahidi.

Prada’s Instagram revealed their post: “The Shape of Things”, with the emphasis on shape and structure for this collection. They juxtaposed soft femininity with industrial structures. The overall feel of the collection was playful, mixing sportswear, luxe, lingerie and sheer layering. Pink, green and lilac pastel hues, silver sequins and feathers lined the runway. This glittering display was accompanied by a beautiful pink walled and parquet floor set. Just dreamy!

The S/S '17 shows wrapped up way back in September/October 2016, so we all need a little refresher of the hottest trends set down by the fashion gods for this season!

We've got the top 10 cutest and most wearable trends right here for you!

Metallic Fabrics
We're absolutely loving the futuristic, uber-cool trend of metallic fabrics that was all over the S/S '17 runways. Pair a metallic silver/gold skirt with a basic white button-down, a glitzy gold top with black skinny pants, or go the whole hog with a metallic dress—the world's your shiny oyster!

Tie-dye
There's nothing like a little throwback to help us fall in love with a fashion trend, so we naturally love this trend that reminds us of our craft classes back in school. If you're a fan of fun, colourful prints, this one is right up your alley.

Ruffles
Ruffles have been in and out of vogue for the past few seasons, and looks like they're planning to continue popping up every now and then! And we aren't complaining, because ruffles are super versatile. You can go super girly and cute with a ruffle-y dress, or office chic with a high-necked ruffle shirt and a pencil skirt.

Pink all over
Whether it's a dusty mauve, a fiery fuchsia, or a pleasant mid-tone pink, it's all on trend right now! Combine various shades of the same family of pink to put together the perfect pink ensemble from top to toe, and channel your inner girly girl.

Boxy/Boyfriend Shirts
Buh-bye, slim silhouettes—it's time to make room for the androgynous boxy boyfriend shirt. This shirt is perfect for casual outfits where you want to look cute without spending too much time wondering what to wear. Simply pair with a high-waisted pair of skinny jeans and some cool, basic sneakers to complete the look.

Zebra print
For those of you who love monochromatic prints, the zebra print is a good option this season for when you're feeling extra sexy. Wear a zebra print dress, or pair one zebra print piece with a plain white piece.

Gingham
It's time to go back to your school days with some classic gingham! This elegant yet cute print is perfect for office wear when you're bored of the basic neutral pieces.

Emojis
Who says that fashion trends stop at clothing and accessories? We believe in extending them to our decor too! Channel the S/S '17 emoji trend by funking up your house with a few emoji cushions.

Denim dresses
Last season, it was denim shirts. This season, they've switched it up to denim dresses! We absolutely love this trend for the simple reason that it's such a quick, no-brainer outfit to put on. No need to fuss with finding matching tops and bottoms that look trendy—just pop on a denim dress, throw on a pair of white sneakers, and you're good to go.

Kitten heels
Another trend that's great for you if you wear formals to office! Most women prefer wearing heels rather than flats, because they add a touch of glam to the outfit. But let's get real—it simply isn't practical or appealing to wear stilettos from 9 to 5! Here's where kitten heels save the day. They're cute as heck, but won't leave you craving a foot massage.

Want to make your eyes stand out? Appear bigger and brighter? Then you've come to the right place, these easy makeup tips and tricks will do the job...

1) Thin Line

A thin, dainty liquid liner flick elongates and lifts the eye. Framing the eye with a skinny strip of liner is a simple and effective way to make your eyes pop!

2) Highlight The Corners

Using a white or silver shadow in the inner corners of your eyes will brighten and make your eyes look awake. Perfect for Monday mornings! Extra top tip, add a highlight to your brow bone to make your lids appear lifted.

3) Define Your Crease

Adding a warm brown shade to the crease of your eye adds definition, work the shadow from the outer corners to the centre of your lid. Sticking to the outer third of the lid opens your peepers up, just don't bring the shadow into the inner corners because this will make them look smaller.

4) White Waterline

A dark liner in your waterline may be a sexy makeup look, but it will make your eyes look far smaller than they are. Use a white pencil to brighten and open up you eyes.

5) All The Mascara

Seems obvious, but mascara makes the world of difference. Focus on the centre of the upper lash line and use a lengthening formula!

6) Fake It

Fake lashes, if too dramatic, actually make your eyes look smaller. Go for individual lashes and apply them to the very outer corner of your lash line.

7) Curl 'Em

Curling your lashes is an instant way to widen your eyes, as straight lashes can cast a shadow over the eye area, which ain't flattering.

8) Cool it

Puffy eyes = smaller eyes. So use a cooling eye mask or pad to reduce swelling.

9) Conceal It

Dark circles will make your eyes look heavy, so use a concealer that counteracts blue and purple tones to brighten those bad boys.

While the first couple of days are great to check out the work of lesser-known talent, LFW brings out the big guns by Day 3!

On this day, we saw some big names (designers and actresses alike), and their exciting resort collections left us on a high. Here are our top 5.

Payal Singhal
This designer's collection gave us major 1930s vibes! We were dazzled by her use of fringes and beads, which, combined with a liberal use of gold accents, gave us a luxe vibe. Plus, we couldn't take our eyes off Diana Penty's old world glam that fit in perfectly with this collection.

Label by Ritu Kumar
Ritu Kumar's Maharaja Pop collection gave us major royalty vibes, along with a hint of military chic. We fell in love with the dazzling motifs, and splashes of colour on neutral bases. Her showstopper, Vaani Kapoor, looked gorgeous in a black outfit that combined appliqué with net.

Falguni Shane
Peacock The excitement was palpable for FSP's first LFW show in 6 years! The theme of their collection, titled "The Rebel", was an explosion of cool tones like silver and blue, paired with warmer tones like champagne. All pieces were finished off with a sheer robe, which added a unique touch to them. Bipasha Basu was an eye-grabbing showstopper in a nude, embellished outfit and a snatched ponytail.

SVA Couture
SVA's collection was all about chic neutrals and pastels. Think wide-legged pants and flared tops with cinched waists. We loved how the closing outfit totally popped, though—Nimrat Kaur brought the gorgeous red-and-gold lehenga to life alright!

Farah Sanjana
This collection perfectly channeled our inner little girls who loved to wear flared skirts and twirl around all day! We loved the gorgeous matching co-ord sets with flowy floral skirts and crop tops, combined with soft neutrals. And Kiara Advani was the cutest showstopper ever!

The annual People's Choice Awards had some absolutely beautiful looks on the red carpet, but there were also celebs who took their outfits a little too far. Here's who you need to know about:

Best Dressed -

1) Ruby Rose: Ruby gave her Veronica Beard suit an edgy twist, and paired it with a dark red lip for a little touch of drama. She looked classy as hell, and her look definitely stood out on the red carpet for us!

2) Jennifer Lopez: Our love for JLo's style in undying, and she did not disappoint! She wore a black Reem Acra gown, which had the most stunning bejewelled bodice. Possibly the best look of the night!

3) Blake Lively: Blake looked beautiful in a black Elie Saab tasselled dress, and her glimmering black and silver accessories completed her look perfectly. And how about them shoes?!

4) Priyanka Chopra: Simple is always the key to success, and PC embraced that motto on this ed carpet. She let her Sally LaPointe dress be the star of her look, as she opted for a neutral glam makeup look and bronzy skin to match. Radiant is too kind a word to describe how she looked!

5) Jamie Chung: Her pale yellow Martha Madeiros gown looked easy and effortless on her, and her golden tan brought out the dress even further.

Bizarre:

1) Gwen Stefani: Her ruffled blue number came across a little dated, especially when paired with black fishnet stockings. The exaggerated straps brought unnecessary attention to her shoulders, making her otherwise petite frame appear broader. But then again, blue isn't the easier colour to pull off, especially when paired with a grunge accessory like the fishnets!

2) Yara Shahidi: Yara's printed gown had ruffles in many wrong places, which didn't enhance her body shape much at all. But whatever said and done, she was all smiles walking down the runway, which was the perfect accessory!

3) Kristen Bell: The wide leg pants of her metallic jumpsuit engulfed her frame completely, and the white frilly cups came off more awkward than amazing. However, the colour of the piece was perfectly on trend, so points are given where due!

4) Ashley Greene: Keeping with the metallic outfits, Ashley Greene's metallic purple dress had a silver and green duochrome that didn't quite catch the light as one would have hoped. Instead, it made her outfit appear a little too simple, and even a little dated. Despite this, the dress hugged her fit frame perfectly, which we appreciated for sure!

5) Jodie Sweetin: Combining aesthetics is definitely on trend this season, but it seems like Jodie Sweetin went too extreme with her sartorial choices. Her gown and her leather jacket were stunning as separate pieces, but looked out of place when paired together.
