Although last season designers were trading the New York catwalks for British and Parisian shows, this year it seems that London has followed New York's example. Most notably, Topshop abandoned the runway for its traditional Unique show while Emporio Armani and  Tommy Hilfiger also forewent the shows as they were a big departure from London's experimental design team. However, LFW is all about fresh designers, innovative thinking unexpected garments, and bold statements.

THE NEWCOMERS

AV Robertson who designed for Marc Jacobs and Presented at Fashion East is one of the emerging designers to watch. Matty Bovan is a press favourite already as she made the cut of The Kids Are Alright in British Vogue's January issue. After earning the Emerging Womenswear Designer award at the Fashion Awards in September, Michael Halpern is constructing an ambitious production and a much-anticipated collection.

THE VETS

We'll witness the departure of Christopher Bailey from Burberry on Saturday after 17 years with the House. Johny Coca from Mulberry will be back on the London stage after a small detour to Paris in September, while Delpozo is bringing ball gowns to London in the place of Ralph & Russo. We're really excited to see JW Anderson whose missed the usual Men's show but is putting on his first co-ed collection.

THE REGULARS

Even though we may be missing a few names from the list, we can still count on Roksanda, Erdem and Christopher Kane to impress at LFW. Newcomer Michael Halpern will throw a soiree with Brows while Gareth Pugh is hosting a decadent party of his own. Sunday is all about Edward Enninful's British Vogue BAFTA party that will follow after the ceremony.Ready for a taste of London Fashion Week? Scroll down below and shop everything British!

New York Fashion Week runs from today until next Wednesday, February 14th following the Men's collections February 5th- 8th. However, this New York Fashion Week is different than the rest. It's following on a wave of changes that was initiated last season when Rodarte, Proenza Schouler, Altuzarra and Thom Browne moved their presentations to Paris. Tome's Ramon Martin and Ryan Lobo also joined the pack of designers leaving New York for Paris. While the controversial collaboration of Rihanna's Fenty x Puma received many accolades and the quintessential American spirit brand of Ralph Lauren hosted his show in his Bedford garage. This season more designers are striking on their own accord while two are coming out of town.

THE OUT-OF-TOWNERS

Tomas Maier is celebrating the opening of his Madison Avenue store and is visiting his Bottega Venetta show from Milan to New York for one season. Maier's move makes sense since the fresh air being infused into the collection abides by the New York edgy and youthful sensibility. Esteban Cortazar - the boy wonder from Paris, formerly creative director of Emanuel Ungaro, is moving his show from Paris to New York.

THE DEPARTURES

Ever since Alexander Wang announced that he's moving #WangFest to a June/December schedule there are more designers evading the conventional Fashion Calendar. Wand staged several street parties in September and will present his final show on the official schedule this Saturday before moving with his plans. Marchesa's Georgina Chapman after filing for divorce from Harvey Weinstein and Keren Craig cancelled their runway show in favour of a more low-key event. Delpozo and Victoria Beckham are switching New York for London, Tome traded New York for Paris while there will be no Fenty x Puma show. Many others Public School and Baja East switched to straight-to-consumer, Burberry and Mansur Gavriel wanted to a see-now-buy-now model while Rebecca Minkoff and Lela Rose opted for Instagram shows instead of IRL ones.

FASHION WEEK STAPLES

But still, it's New York fashion week Marc Jacobs whose latest collection was featured on the cover of American Vogue is closing the show. While Raf Simons is presenting both his third collection for Calvin Kein and also showcasing his own menswear brand. Tom Ford is showing two separate collections Women's and Men's. We're anticipating Coach, Michael Kors, Oscar de la Renta and of course Jeremy Scott! We're also expecting a breath of fresh air from newcomers (to the NYFW runway at least) Eckhaus Latta, the powerful subversive duo, and the American - Australian Matthew Adams Dolan, a denim aficionado and Rihanna favourite.

THE FROW

As with designers, there has been a thinning of big celebrity sightings too. This time last year Katie Holmes, Jennifer Hudson and Lucy Liu sat at Zac Posen alone, for example, and by September, the significant celeb snaps were confined to those of a pregnant Jessica Alba and Jessica Seinfeld. And all for a good reason. According to The New York Times, in the practice of pay-per-pose, an A-lister like Angelina Jolie could command close to $1 million per show. As expected Tom Ford kicked off NYFW AW18 with a guest list that included Ciara and husband Russell Wilson, Pusha T and Halsey. Jessica Alba is a Tory Burch veteran so she’ll probably be there, ditto for Zoe Kravitz at close friend Alexander Wang’s show. Rashida Jones is a fan of  Rachel Comey, actress Chloe Grace Moretz has been a COACH regular in the past and may even show up to the Victoria Beckham show (she’s currently dating Brooklyn Beckham). Olivia Culpo and her New England Patriots player boyfriend Danny Amendola are scheduled to make an appearance, according to E! Online. And from the music scene: Solange Knowles Tinashe and Teyana Taylor may all show up. As far as street style trendsetters are concerned: Yasmin Sewell, (heavily pregnant) Leandra Medine, Lisa Aiken and Linda Tol are all safe bet sightings and women to follow on Instagram if you’re not already.

New York Fashion Week starts today and will run until next Wednesday 14th February (aka Valentine’s Day) following the Men's collections held between the 5th and 8th of February. However, there are a host of changes, initiated last season when Rodarte, Proenza Schouler, Altuzarra and Thom Browne moved their presentations to Paris. Tome's Ramon Martin and Ryan Lobo crossed over to the French capital as well, and even more, designers are shaking up the fashion system.

THE OUT-OF-TOWNERS

Tomas Maier is celebrating the opening of his Madison Avenue store and is visiting his Bottega Venetta show from Milan to New York for one season. Maier's move makes sense since the fresh air being infused into the collection abides by the city’s urban edge and youthful sensibility. Esteban Cortazar, the boy wonder from Paris and formerly creative director of Emanuel Ungaro, is moving his show from Paris to New York.

Delpozo and Victoria Beckham are switching New York for London ( the former this season, the latter next), and there will be no Fenty x Puma show (making a Rihanna a little less likely). Others like Public School and Baja East have switched to a straight-to-consumer format, Burberry and Mansur Gavriel’s collections will be see-now-buy-now, while Rebecca Minkoff and Lela Rose have opted for Instagram shows instead of IRL ones.

FASHION WEEK MAINSTAYS

But one of NYFW’s biggest names Marc Jacobs, whose latest collection was featured on the cover of American Vogue, is closing the week as usual. Raf Simons is presenting both his third collection for Calvin Klein and his own menswear brand; while Tom Ford is eschewing co-ed shows by showing his new menswear and womenswear separately a few days apart. We're looking forward to seeing what Coach, Michael Kors, Oscar de la Renta and of course Jeremy Scott have come up with! And keeping a close eye on Monse, newcomers (to the NYFW runway at least) Eckhaus Latta, the powerful subversive duo, and Rihanna’s favourite denim aficionado Matthew Adams Dolan.

Rihanna has a way of making anything cool. So when she announced her make up line, Fenty Beauty, last September all eyes were eagerly awaiting her outfit for the launch. Of course she went for something only Rih would look so good in. Whilst most of us battle with the Disney princess connotations of tulle - no this is not out of my costume wardrobe - Rihanna looks incredible. The lavender fabric is utterly feminine and Rihanna looks stunning in this pastel look. Embellished with understated jewellery and a relaxed hairstyle the outfit is complete. Image: Getty

Chainmail made its latest epic comeback in the finale of the Versace Spring Summer 18 show back in September. Carla Bruni, Claudia Schiffer, Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford and Helena Christensen, five of the original supermodels, dazzled in shimmering gold chainmail gowns and strutted down the runaway hand-in-hand with Donatella Versace in tribute to the designer’s late brother Gianni. Besides breaking the internet as the most instagrammed moment of fashion month, gold or ‘goddess’ chainmail entered the spotlight.

It was Paco Rabanne who helped popularise the fierce, futuristic fabric in the ’60s as part of the Space Age movement, although none of his dresses were as naked as Paris Hilton’s at her 21st birthday party in 2002. The heiress’ cowl neck silver chainmail mini dress was previously pop culture’s most enduring image of chainmail, chicly recreated by Kendall Jenner at her own 21st birthday celebrations last year. Defined as a flexible armour of small metal rings linked together, allowing tantalising peeks of skin, it’s the perfect attention-seeking material for a New Year Eve’s party outfit. No-one will be able to tear their eyes away from you as you shimmer your way around the room. Now that the age-defying supers have proved that chainmail doesn’t have to be silver or only worn by pretty young things, try it out. It’s a much cooler way to do metallics, glittering without actual glitter specks, and there’s a rainbow of shades now available.

Check out our inspiration gallery above and then pick your most flattering cut or piece from our ready-to-shop edit below.

You’ll bring in the new year with a bang!

This season materials such as vinyl or leather are giving a lot to talk. Since the successive Fashion Weeks held last September, they have become a constant in street style images, and it is no coincidence! Fashion bloggers have embraced the vinyl pants. With the drop in temperatures, we have begun to see them on the street, mainly in black! Credits: Pinterest

With temperatures rising ever so slightly, and the sun gracing us with its presence this morning we thought of going for something lighter. And what could be more breezy, light and yet so personal than a slogan tee? Slogan t-shirts made their massive comeback last season and during the SS17 shows specifically, last September. Fashion month provided us with an array of fashionistas who layered, styled and donned those slogan tees to a T!

Here our main reasons why you should wear a slogan tee this Fall.

ICE-BREAKER

You're bound to grab attention. Whether you like it or not, clothes say a lot about how we are let alone if we spell it out on our tops. The tee could easily be an icebreaker and topic of conversation between you and the guy standing in line for your morning chai latte?

SAYS A LOT ABOUT YOU

It's personal. Although slogan tees are a trend, hence not as personal, the message can be a reflection of your individual style and mind set. Whether it's a pun on feminism, a political statement, a funny random quote or ever a rocker tee. Slogan were, are and always will be quite personal. And there's nothing wrong with that.

EASY TO STYLE

They're quite easy to style and incorporate in literally any wardrobe. You can go for a girly look and tuck it inside a floor length skirt, paired with a GG belt and mules. It's the perfect addition if you want to tone down and make a classic look edgier. If you want to spice up your business attire, don a slogan tee under your check blazer and trousers. On the other hand you can go for the rocker look, or simply keep it casual with a luxe knit cardigan, vinyl leggings and ankle boots.

TRANSITIONAL WEATHER FRIENDLY

Fits this weather. If the weather hasn't made up it's mind why should you? Tees are the perfect way to go during transitional weather as you can layer up, or layer down according to your environment and occasion. And if you are going for a t-shirt this season, why not make it personal and sport one with a slogan?

Can't wait to get your hands on a slogan t-shirt? Check out our edit of this season's best slogan tee picks!

The waist bag is having a moment and can be spotted all over the fashion week streets this September. Originally associated with the 1980s bumbag, it has recovered from its retro image and been given new luxury status.

The best thing about this bag? Its hand free and can be worn as a practical belt, and will instantly elevate your outfit. Alessandro Michele's Gucci Pre-Fall 2018 ad campaign featured that classic GG Marmont matelesse bag in Fall 2017 and finally a much anticipated belt bag for Resort 2018.

Soon influencers, fashion editors, and celebrities from Rihanna to Kendall Jenner fell in love with the luxe belt bag. We are dying to get our hands on one of these!

#18181f" face="Arimo, Helvetica Neue, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif">Yesterday, Milan Fashion#000000" face="helvetica, arial, verdana, sans-serif">#18181f" face="Arimo, Helvetica Neue, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif"> Week kicked off with the Gucci SS18 show in a parade#18181f" face="Arimo, Helvetica Neue, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif"> of sequins, Prince of Wales checks and slogan racing jackets. Their famous GG logo was displayed on everything from necklaces to prints, and of course their bags. In celebration of the show, we've selected the best of the GG belt bags below.
