Is the picture above the first real life sighting of a piece from Burberry’s AW18 celebration of LGBTQ+ communities announced earlier this week? We’re hoping so because current Burberry face Adwoa Aboah wears her technicolour dream coat magnificently and the check patch the British powerhouse shared isn’t giving anything away besides a first glimpse of the rainbow check. If you can’t wait until outgoing Chief Creative Officer Christopher Bailey’s final show tomorrow, then check out the beautiful editorial Alasdair McLellan shot for LGBTQ+ platform them. Featuring same sex couples wearing AW18 pieces, you can see the rainbow check in a baseball cap, scarf and shirt. The thinking behind the collection, Bailey explains, is that "There has never been a more important time to say that in our diversity lies our strength, and our creativity." The collection will be available to buy immediately after the show and Burberry’s complementary set of initiatives include donations to Albert Kennedy Trust, the Trevor Project and ILGA.

Apart from Burberry, the other London Fashion Week shows are still shrouded in secrecy. What we do know is that Topshop Unique won’t be showing this year, J.W.Anderson is showing his new menswear and womenswear together, and that Delpozo has decamped from New York. We can’t wait to see how rising brands Matty Bovan and Halpern progress; how Molly Goddard, Rejina Pyo and Isa Arfen harness their success; and the streetstyle will hopefully be bolder and more playful.

At NYFW Prabal Gurung presented his February 2018 collection, filled with the colours of his home country, Nepal. The runway was vibrant with thick woven knits and bright varied textures. This particular look on Gigi Hadid is absolutely gorgeous; the oversized scarf being the statement piece. Credit: Fashion Week

We reserve special praise for the bright sparks who've enlarged the humble winter scarf to blanket-sized proportions. Not only do these cosy expanses of fabric keep you warmer than the others in your collection while acting as an impromptu rain shield, they are also the grown-up equivalent of a comfort blanket. Providing that same sense of security on the go and in the face of unprecedented cold, the savviest travellers have been using them to snuggle under during long haul flights for years. Other than that, there’s no difference between a blanket (oversized, XXL whatever you’re calling it) scarf and a normal sized one apart for the ways you can wear them, the effect created and it’s no-brainer impulse buy status.

After you’ve decided whether to you'd like a fringed trim or not and picked your favourite shade or pattern: here comes the fun part. Because all the extra volume is just waiting to be wrapped, looped and knotted to taste, creating effortless drama. And if you belt one at your waist, thus incorporating into your look by hiding other elements, you’ll create the illusion of a sleeved poncho. Alternatively, this extra outer layer could just be slung over your shoulders and left alone like a shawl- especially vibrant styles that deserve to displayed.

Susan Miller. If the Aquarius in your life knows who 'fashion’s favourite astrologer' is, as Semaine dubbed her, and reads their in-depth horoscope religiously every month then they’re bound to appreciate a zodiac themed gift. Stick with a card if you're unsure and, as their birthday is between the 20th January and 19th February, you’ve got to be quick as their special day may have already been and gone. Something clear for an air sign is an abstract way to nod to the sign and tap into the 2018 plastic trend (if you’re not tackling plastic pollution). And according to Miller, Aquarians are inventive, creative, social and highly intelligent. Whether you honestly feel that’s true or not, you won’t go far wrong with a present that combines these positive qualities with their personality.

There’s a wonderful array of Aquarius jewellery to treat your loved one to, whether they’re into sparkly stones, minimalist constellations or words motifs, which can be personalised. Only Vetements could make the double wave symbol so cool on a plain t-shirt that’s perfect with jeans, while Hugo Boss turned all of the zodiac signs into an elegant scarf pattern. Some impossibly chic emblazoned raffia mules will be their new favourite summer shoes, and they can sip hot drinks from a gorgeous white, black and gold thematic mug from Liberty London. Everything we’ve found will reflect your good taste and theirs.

Check out some famous Aquarians in the gallery above then shop our exciting edit of Aquarius gifts below.

A headscarf is one of those accessories that you think only a select few may have been gifted to nail in their lifetime, but in all honesty, anyone can pull off a headscarf. It's just a matter of knowledge and individual taste. So, this week because headscarves are trending (although when were they not in fashion) we're going to show you how to wear it. And believe us when we say anyone can sport it. From the Queen to Grace Kelly, Lauryn Hill, or Gucci models there's a headscarf girl in all of us.

Boho Vibe

If you're feeling the Gucci 70's vibe then this is the look for you. Just opt for a long scarf that you'll wrap around your head and tie it securely at the back.

Queen style

For this look, you'll need a much shorter fabric preferably in a monotone colour devoid of any patterns. And voila! Classic Queen chic.

Turban

Even if you're not Linda Evangelista in the 90's you can still rock the uber elegant turban. Take an elastic scarf and tie it once in the front and once securely on the back of your neck.

 HeadBand

Go for the Upper East Manhattan Charlotte from SATC meets Blair from Gossip Girl vibe and sport a very classy headband and elevate any smart casual outfit!

We are all well versed in the LBD. The dress that hangs at the back of your wardrobe, ready for any and every occasion - because you know one day you will need it. But what about the LDD? The little denim dress. A classic day dress that everyone needs. Just like the LBD it is always ready. It needs little accessorising and can tackle any season. Thick tights, chunky boots and an even chunkier scarf in the winter, transformed with plimsoles and beach waved hair in the summer. The ultimate dress. Image: Instagram @alexachung

As temperatures drop it's very logical that we would find new ways to stay warm - especially when relentless layering isn't working and doesn't look attractive. One of the chicest ways to keep warm and cosy is by wrapping in a huge blanket scarf. We're not talking about the crazy Lenny Kravitz blanket which inspired many memes in its heyday - but an extra long chunky scarf that will keep the cold out and will look elegant in the process.

The first thing is to go with a versatile colour: black, grey, white or soft pastels like pink and baby blue. If you want to choose a print we suggest again a more demure pattern that will easily go with anything hanging from your wardrobe. For example, a check pattern, stripes or polka dots. When it comes to styling go for a classic look by wrapping it around your neck. Cosy up by putting it on your shoulders as the boho chic queens Olsen sisters would do. Finally, if you want to combine the boho and classic element you can belt the blanket scarf around your waist.

Meghan Markle has had to make quite a few adjustments after joining the royal family. And we're not only talking about closing all of her social media accounts just a few hours ago. We're very excited to see how Meghan Markle's style will evolve the next years, as she transforms from sitcom sweetheart to British royalty.

Following in the footsteps of the Duchess of York Meghan Markle has been supporting British designers. She has been spotted wearing such as a 50 dollar jumper from Marks and Spencer’s (that has now SOLD OUT), a scarf from Jigsaw, a pair of pants from Burberry and but also a very sleek coat by Canadian brand Smythe.

We're truly excited because it has never been easier to incorporate her look even on a tight budget. We have prepared a comprehensive list based on her everyday staples that you can now get for under $50.

Get more Meghan Markle style inspiration from our gallery and shop all of her favourite items from our expert edit below!
