A recent Instagram post of Kim Kardashian already has over three million likes (and counting) – while that may be to do with the fact she looks great, we think the neon-pink dress she’s wearing definitely helps.

Blame Balenciaga – the label kicked off the trend on the Paris runway – but everyone is rocking this look right now. Kim K has since been spotted in a series of more neon looks, along with her sister Kylie Jenner, Bella Hadid and Blake Lively. Convinced yet?

This micro trend is part of the ‘80s theme seen across plenty of Fall ‘18 collections, and it’s the perfect way to refresh your fall wardrobe – an antidote to a usually understated season of gray, black and navy.

So, want to know how to wear neon satin now? It’s easier than you think. For Monday to Friday, take your styling cues from the Balenciaga runway and try a fluorescent top under a tailored jacket for a subtle flash of color.

When it comes to the weekend, try neon-striped track pants or high-vis sneakers for an instant off-duty refresh. At night, anything goes: a neon satin clutch, a pair of pumps or a figure-hugging dress is all you need to make an impact.

Shop our favourite silky neon pieces below and nail the look for yourself…

Felicity Jones first appeared on our screens aged 12 before skyrocketing to fame as a badass heroine in Star Wars. Earning a nod at the Oscars for her role as Jane Hawking opposite Eddie Redmayne in The Theory of Everything, in 2016 she bagged a BAFTA Britannia Award for British Artist of the Year.

When it comes to style, Felicity’s choices are a fine mix of traditional and modern with a hint of romanticism. Alexander McQueen, Burberry and Christian Dior are among her go-to designers for the red carpet. At the 2015 Oscars, she appeared in a chic grey Alexander McQueen showstopper.

For off-duty Felicity goes for classic pieces with clean lines in neutral colours. When she decides to go for colour she opts for hues that compliment her porcelain skin such as navy, burgundy, grey and mustard yellow.

To emulate her red carpet style go for a flowing Grecian-style dress paired with sandals, a clutch and dainty pearl earrings. For a daytime look, kick back in a pair of fitted jeans with a Victorian pussy-bow blouse, blazer and pumps.

It can be very easy to invest in your summer wardrobe at the last minute but in most cases, this will result in impulse buys you may regret later. We suggest taking the time to properly prep for the upcoming months and invest in a few items that will compliment your wardrobe. This month we’ve already witnessed an array of fresh new pieces that excite us and we’ve spotted  four major trends….

What are the key style trends for summer 2018?

Big statement hats

XXL hats are great for style and for UV protection. You've probably come across the iconic Jacquemus straw hat on Insta by now. The bigger the better is your main rule.

Basket bags

Wicker bags, baskets and woven accessories are here to stay. Try a white raffia style or a woven tote with an all-white ensemble and finish your look with a pair of  Camille Charriere's Mista pumps.

Rainbow stripes

Originally emerging as a winter trend, the rainbow stripe craze is set to brighten our summer holidays too. Invest in a few key pieces – from your bikini to your crop top –  and pair with white and black for on-point juxtaposition.

Fruity prints and patterns

Bright fruit-inspired prints work perfectly with a summer tan. This year opt for lemons or banana prints and embrace the sunshine.

Ready to indulge in a few of this summer’s must-haves? Scroll down and choose your faves from our Editors’ list.

As much as we hate to admit the early 00's era of Paris Hilton in pink Juicy track suits, double denim x2 Justin and Britney, Christina Aguilera's dirty braided locks, oversized hoops and motorcross gear loving songstress Pink are all trending for 2017. Even though some of those trends especially worn in the early 00's period make us cringe slightly, incorporating a few items here with a 2017  approach will work wonders for your wardrobe this season!

Read on for the latest throwback staples of the season!

1. Velour Track Suit Ensemble

Before the rise of athleisure the velour tracksuit was a no-fail staple. Combined with an oversized bag, a Starbucks venti Latte and a miniature dog it was the celebrity uniform adorned by most starlets of the time. Many years after it's inevitable demise the velour tracksuit is having a come back. Vetement's collaboration with Juicy Couture for SS17 should have given us a hint. Kanye's YEEZY and Chloe are also adding this naughts staple into their collections. You can probably thank or cringe at Rihanna and Kylie Jenner for putting it back on the Insta Fash pack radar.

2. Trucker Cap

In the heyday of paparazzi and celebrity culture which was the early naughts they had to be accompanied by some much needed streetwear and paparazzi-proof attire. Black sunnies have always been favourable but headgear is also quite integral. For the early 00's that attire included the trucker cap. The ubiquitous accessory for every 20-something celebrity from Pharrell to Ashton Kutcher or Britney Spears. It was Hedi Slimane who resurfaced the the polarizing accessory for Saint Lauren's SS16 show. Nowadays, Gigi Hadid and Kylie and Kendall Jenner have all been spotted with the infamous cap.#2e2e2e">

3. Hot Pink

As fashion recycles every 20 years the early naughts adopted the early 80's trend of pastel pink. When it came to the early naughts Paris Hilton not only brought the flirty colour back but basically built her brand by sporting bold non apologetic fuchia-pink. Around the same time that Legally Blonde premiered by the way. And even though we have been drowning in pastel pink for the past few seasons you can attribute the rise of bold pink to Ballenciaga's SS17 collection. Just wondering when Paris Hilton's come back is due?

4. Motorcross Gear

The rise of early aughties hip-hop is undeniable and it quickly infused the fashion runways too. From Pharell Williams, to Pink, EVE, or Christina Aguilera's Dirrty video and most rappers of the time donning heavy leather tracksuits and jackets usually styled with braided hair and lots of 'bling' or 'bling-bling' if you're truly old - school. Nowadays, labels like Maison Margiela, Alyx Studio, Supreme and of course Rihanna's Fenty x Puma SS18 collection at NYFW are completely in racing-inspired gear mode.

5. Candy Coloured Sunglasses

Colorful sunglasses were everywhere in early 00's and adored by women and men equally. From Sisqo to Justin Timberlake Eve and the Olsen Twins (they've gone a long way we know), all 00's stars were sporting this trend. Nowadays you'll find the likes of Gigi Hadid and her entourage in similar rose coloured glasses.

6. Oversized Hoops

The oversized hoops are a symbol of RnB and Hip Hop music. From Lauren Hill, to Missy Elliot, and EVE it's the accessory that goes hand in hand with a bandana, baseball cap or sleek back pony tail. In the aughts the trend went more mainstream and was adored by many including Victoria Beckham. These days, you can see anyone from Kendall Jenner, to the Hadid sisters or Rihanna rocking those giant gold hoops from designers like Area or minimal ones from Lombardi and Nandi Naya.

7. Fishnets

We're not saying you should go full-on Avril Lavigne and "Hollaback Girl"-era Gwen Stefani, necessarily, but there's definitely something about this pop version of post punk fashion that us bubbling back up all over social media. Usually worn underneath low rise wide legged ripped jeans and peaking from the waist and calves. And of course, the fishnet top is a great way to add some interest under a slip dress—or just over a bandeau bra, for a fun flirty look.

8. Pointy slingback pumps

You can pinpoint this trend to the late 90's who resurfaced the super pointy kitten heel. It was in the early 00's though that the silhouette became more relaxed and transformed into a more elegant and feminine slingback pump with a mid-height lift. Doesn't Sophia Coppola's outfit look truly timeless?

There you have it! The eight 00's trends that are coming back in a major way. Which ones will you be sporting this season? Check out our exclusive edit of all the items that will give you that extra aughts edge!

There's nothing new about the allure of a white shoe. Dominating the 80's, this hue has been gaining ground as a certified new addition to footwear, since last season. After the white trainer boom (which is still going strong by the way) this shade has become popular in all shapes and sizes: Whether they're slingbacks, "ugly" trainers, ankle boots, thigh-high boots or your basic pumps white shoes are everywhere.

There's something about this particular colour that elevates each outfit to rich status especially if you keep them in a pristine condition. They've also received a lot of designer approval from Vetements to Rejina Pyo or Topshop making sure that they have evolved from their 80's version to a current aesthetic.

This season was a great example of pure sophistication when it comes to white shoes. We had the chance to feast our eyes on some pretty impressive street style photography of slouchy boots, spiky stilettos or flats including mules and loafers. Now if you want to really nail top-of-the-art glam pair them in juxtaposition with black accessories or clothing. Think of your basic LBD paired with thigh-high boots and a furry black bag for a very chic evening look.

For a smart-casual approach team a pair of white slingbacks with leggings and the uber-elegant vinyl trench. For some extra modern appeal make sure your trench is in a checked pattern and add a pair of extra slim sunnies with coloured lenses.

Practicality seems to have been a winning trend for the past two seasons. Reaching a happy medium between comfort and elegance is not that much of a stretch and our feet thank us for it. Street style is no longer about stilettos; now the cool crowd is wearing trainers, brogues, loafers and mules –  a big relief if you ask us.

Sure, heels are great for parties but we must admit, we’ve been swapping our spike heels for chunky styles from designers like Gucci –  the perfect way to add a few inches without compromising on comfort.

When it comes to cool flats, why not opt for a pair of boho moccasins, or a classic brogue? Our personal favourites? Trainers with a chunky sole for extra height. Alexa Chung and Olivia Palermo are proving the power of a well chosen flat for day and evening. Even Victoria Beckham – queen of the court shoe – has been spotted in spring brogues, sneakers and ballet flats.

How to wear flats and look cool?

Opt for an office-ready look by styling your flats with a tailored suit, a sleek leather backpack and a low bun.

Don a pair of embroidered slippers or embellished ballet pumps to put a fresh spin on your evening party dress.

Any fashionista worth her salt will know the name Emily Blunt, but did you know? The actress made her stage debut back in 2001, five years before she appeared on our screens as Miranda Priestly's assistant in The Devil Wears Prada alongside Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway.

Emily Blunt's latest endeavour features her in the leading role in unsettling thriller A Quiet Place scripted by hubby and fellow actor John Krasinski. The film is a crossover between your typical bloodthirsty horror and a take on the fears of modern parenthood.

Emily Blunt's powerful performance gave us chills and has since been added to a long list of standout roles including appearances in Hollywood hits such as the Edge of TomorrowSicario, and Young Victoria. It seemed like all anyone could talk about was Paula Hawking's psychological thriller Girl on the Train in which Emily played Rachel Watson, and now the name of everyone’s lips is Mary Poppins – tipped to be the most exciting reboot of 2018.

As an actress that made a name starring in one of the most popular fashion flicks of all time, it comes as no surprise that we’re fascinated by her unique fashion sense. She's one to make a statement on the red carpet, by employing her sartorial savviness and opting to work with a wide range of designers.

From choosing international names like Prada, Dior, Michael Kors and Elie Saab to rocking statement garments by British designers like Vivienne Westwood, Stella McCartney, and the late Alexander McQueen.

To emulate her evening look, opt for a long figure-hugging frock in a bold hue like crimson red or a metallic shade for full-on vintage flair. Complete your look with a pair of strappy heels, a sparkly clutch and a statement ring.

For daywear, adopt Emily's practical approach by pairing your black trousers with a simple pussy bow blouse and throwing on a tailored blazer. Add a pair of neutral pumps and statement jewellery to infuse your look with a touch of character.

One by one the early naughts trends are taking over the SS18 Insta feeds as well. Remember the J Lo tracksuit along with XXL gold hoops and a hair bandana more suited for the gym than the street? Well, this entire look is having a major comeback. While athleisure staples like this seem like a no-brainer for a casual shopping spree, a friendly brunch or an errands run, it turns out this outfit is red-carpet approved also.

Just look at Zendaya a great fan of trading her floor-skimming gown for a more practical and comfy outfit such as a tracksuit. Her brand of choice was Boohoo a retailer she absolutely loved especially after collaborating on The Zendaya Edit: a beautifully arranged selection of athleisure, 90's denim, jumpsuits, cropped tops, slogan tees, pastel hues and bell-bottoms that will infuse that elusive summer relaxed vibe.

Even though a polarising look it's easy to pull off if you invest in quality accessories. Go for the ghetto gold hoops and black  pumps like Zendaya, or trade your pumps with elegant heeled sandals. Add a crop top and leave your hoodie  unzipped for a bolder look and put your hair up in a messy bun. As for make up, try a fresh look, complete with highlighter, a thick brow, glossy lipstick and a bright eyeshadow. Voila! Your red carpet look is done.

One trend set to be in everyone's wardrobe this season is denim. I can hear you thinking - denim isn't a new trend, we all have a favourite pair of jeans, just trust me this time it's different. This time you need a lot of denim, way past your fave pair of jeans. Selena is a perfect example of working denim in every kind of way. A personal best, however, has to be the classic double denim. Selena matches shades in her denim jacket and ripped jeans. Paired with a white tee and pumps this is an easy denim look. It makes me think I might be brace enough to brave the double denim his year. As we're clearly in award season mode we thought it would be the best time to get inspired for the ultimate black tie looks! During this year's Golden Globes the actresses made both a political and fashion statement by sporting black on the red carpet. All guests were encouraged to go for black in solidarity with the Time's Up movement, that calls for change by 300 women in film, television and theatre against sexual assault, harassment and inequality.

The black colour was also intended to stop reporters from asking the "who are you wearing" question. And even if their "act of rebellion" lost the point in the terms that the colour doesn't define the dress, and men do get asked that question too. The end result was an array of black gowns and the race for who wore it best was still on.

If you want to play it "safe" then a black ensemble is all you need. Pair it with high stiletto pumps, a cute clutch, red lip and pulled back hair.

Go for a sleek pantsuit and leave the bra at home (just be careful of styling for a enviable and safe result). Add your fave heels a cross body bag and a great piece of jewellery for effect.

Opt a dose of romanticism by wearing a tutu skirt dress with sandals a tiny clutch bag and some sleek makeup.

For a vavavoom effect go for a long silk slip dress in a daring red, elegant black or sleek grey and pair with with sling backs a tiny 90s hand bag and a great hair piece.

This is such a great option for party season, I'm just so hypnotized by the stunning electric blue tone in this velvet jumpsuit. This is by far that kind of outfit that everyone would stare at when you walk into a room. I would wear it with dainty jewelry and some silver pumps. And you, how would you wear this look?
