They’re the kind of people who spend hours watching and sharing cute animal videos, and who'd take being described as a ‘cat lady’ (or man) as a massive compliment. Their pets are treated like their children, complete with home-cooked meals and adorable outfits; while the animal lovers that don’t have their own, due to living arrangements and lifestyle, desperately want one. Animal motifs also slide into their wardrobes, although wearing animal skin and prints is a personal preference.

Go the extra mile by gifting them something thoughtful related to their favourite animal. That might mean bespoke treats and cute toys for their pet which will lead to hours of fun, or a novelty costume to create great instagram fodder. A special trip to the zoo or animal handling to visit the more unusual species will live long the memory. And they’ll show off an gorgeous animal embellished top or accessory at every opportunity.

We all have that over the top friend or family member that is loud and after the excitement and drawn to big bold loud patterns. The important thing to remember about the maximalism lover is to aim for anything that is not basic.

So instead for a mere blazer go for a sequined blazer or a cape. Instead of a baseball cap go for a fedora hat, and instead of a parka or classic trench coat opt for a decadent faux fur coat. In terms of colour hues and patterns the bolder the better. Go for optimistic fuchsias, gold electric blue juxtaposed with white and black. Look into the patterns of Gucci for the ultimate Italian opulent maximalism mantra, or opt for a more affordable version from Ganni and Roland Mouret.

Have a look at our gallery for more maximalism inspiration and shop the perfect gift from our expert edit below!

We know that day to day may seem monotonous, but today we propose a way to break everything. Mix prints without fear, and you will see how your style gains strength with very little. Be it paintings with stripes, flowers with polka dots or geometric patterns with opposite ones, this type of experiment will work. The world of fashion has gone crazy, and the only rule is that rules do not exist. Credits: Pinterest

Winter season is beautiful and also one of the most challenging times to nail that comfortable chic outfit that will look amazingly elegant but will also let you brace the cold like a modern day heroine! In our endless quest for that elusive style combo we've come across many solutions.

One of our absolute favourites adorned by celebs in the late 90s and the fashion pack now is the dress over your pants, more specifically jeans. Scroll down your insta feed and you'll see Instagram Fashion Partnerships Director Eva Chen, Yasmin Sewell and blogger Leandra Medine in seemingly mismatched outfits of dresses over trousers that actually look great together.

Even though there are no styling rules to apply on this look try to keep items in the same colour palette so that you can result in a more cohesive outfit. (same goes for mismatched prints). Just select a long comfy dress and a pair of jeans and your ultimate Winter 2018 outfit is sorted!

Check out our gallery for more information and shop our top picks for dresses and jeans from our exclusive edit below!

I am a big fan of artwork. I think a home is complete with a few photos, a movie poster here, a painting there. There's something about it that makes our interiors much more personal and specific to us. I love this print above. I think having a statement piece, especially positioned in a focal position, such as over your bed, completes a room. This is a really cute one seen on @livpurvis' Instagram. Olivia uses it to draw in all the colours of her bedroom. This is definitely set to be a key interior trend in the new year as we see the gallery wall used less and less.

Just like our wardrobes, our #interiors fall in and out of fashion. I am waiting in anticipation to see what 2018 holds for interiors. Will we still covet #copper? And #marble? What about the gallery wall? One trend set to storm our homes is 'Wabi-sabi'. The Japanese belief expressed the art of imperfection. Not everything needs to be polished. Mis-matched #crockery, bold #clashing #prints, anything goes. This is set to be an incredibly fun trend for our homes. Image: nousdecor.com

Absolutely adore this outfit choice! The clashing metallic prints just look so cool - they surprisingly work well together as a duo! The pussybow style neck gives a slight vintage feel! This would be such a cool look for the upcoming party season! #ootd #sisterjane #fashion #outfitinspo #vintage Photo Credit: @dreamsisterjane on Twitter

#SkinnyDip wasn't always somewhere I would shop for clothes but they're definitely in the game. Their fun prints and bright colours really translate into their clothes. @kaylahadlington looks fab in this Skinny Dip faux fur. I love the pastel fur trend and this candy floss colour is perfect. Red and pink will always be one of my favourite clashes and the heart pocket details are so cute. This coat could be thrown over any winter outfit to brighten it up. Cardigans are an excellent way to elevate any casual outfit without much effort and more style than a stale hoodie or blazer. #fcfbfb">One of the oldest documented garments on record moving from the courtroom to the church, to the boxing ring and the boudoir the coverup's fluidity is not only in form but also in purpose. More specifically, over the past few seasons, robes, coverups and their comfy relative the cardigan, are being incorporated into our everyday wardrobes without the granny-chic connotation.

From Etro to a plethora of vibrant prints and colours at Roberto Cavalli to botanical garden inspiration at Alberta Ferretti pure Americana vibes at Elie Saab, the runways were filled with coverup inspiration. Looking for the classic style of cashmere? Lord & Taylor has a fantastic selection that is also quite affordable as part of their pre-Black Friday sales!

Pair them with a cool denim pair of trousers, or a skirt, or opt for the uber cool version of a floor-length velvet robe and wear it over your favourite LBD with over the knee boots for the perfect going out look!

Whatever your style this season have a look at our exclusive edit below and you'll find the perfect cover-up for you!
