A new trend on the scene is the Americana, nothing to do with the similarly named coffee. This trend borrows Aztec prints and vivid colours. Think about pairing these knits and jackets with dark colours, suedes and denims. Heavy materials and textures with chunky boots keep this trend in winter. Heading in to spring shed a few layers and this print is equally fabulous. Image: @sheerluxe Instagram

Who said that you had to leave the denim items in your wardrobe only for casual occasions? Just like the early naughties, the party jeans are gaining back their reputation as capable LBD alternatives. Emily Ratajkowski certainly thinks so. She sported a pair of straight legged denim jeans with ripped hems with an ethereal silky embroidered kimono by The Kooples to add a bit of glam to the outfit.

She wanted to add a bit more definition and sparkle to her evening look so she placed a pearl and crystal belt around her waist. She put her hair in a half - up Bardot-esque do for the ultimate effortless sexy result. She finished off the look with a pair of black heeled sandals and a leopard print bag.

For a more comprehensive evening look go for a sequinned black top, and pair it with a belt over the knee black boots and a bright coloured tote bag.

Let the top speak for itself and go for a statement off the shoulder ruffled top and pair it with mules and a cute leather clutch.

Channel your inner Victorian vibe and go for the appropriate volume sleeved shirt, soft leather mules and an embroidered drawstring bag. Ready to sport your denim this weekend?

Kate Moss turned 44 today, and for more than 20 years she has been infusing the fashion industry with her unique sense of grunge and boho style, her edge and her overall completely effortlessly elegant aesthetic. The truth is that she has had an excellent training of top designers, stylists and fellow models that have worked with her. So she has developed her unique formula of Kate Moss style that relies on a few simple style rules. Shopcade investigates.

1. Go for an edgy denim

We 've always associated denim with Kate Moss but she's always gone for the denim underdog - the styles that weren't on trend at the time. From low-cut skinny jeans to wide -legged jeans and animal print she's worn all kind of styles and it has always been ahead of their time. Kudos!

2. Quality

Moss is not a fan of the high street. Even though she has launched many successful fashion lines with Topshop she always goes for quality. One of her favourite past times is discovering second-hand clothing from Portobello market.

3. Timeless Prints

You could say that Moss is a print queen. She loves her leopard print, polka dots and a few 70s funky patterns. But she always goes for the ones with classic appeal. She would never go too crazy which explains her effortless yet edgy look.

4. Jewellery

When she wants to draw attention from the clothes she turns to jewellery and diamonds to be exact. From 19th-century drop earrings to sapphire and ruby bangles she knows how to make any dab outfit spark.

As temperatures drop it's very logical that we would find new ways to stay warm - especially when relentless layering isn't working and doesn't look attractive. One of the chicest ways to keep warm and cosy is by wrapping in a huge blanket scarf. We're not talking about the crazy Lenny Kravitz blanket which inspired many memes in its heyday - but an extra long chunky scarf that will keep the cold out and will look elegant in the process.

The first thing is to go with a versatile colour: black, grey, white or soft pastels like pink and baby blue. If you want to choose a print we suggest again a more demure pattern that will easily go with anything hanging from your wardrobe. For example, a check pattern, stripes or polka dots. When it comes to styling go for a classic look by wrapping it around your neck. Cosy up by putting it on your shoulders as the boho chic queens Olsen sisters would do. Finally, if you want to combine the boho and classic element you can belt the blanket scarf around your waist.

The holidays have gone, but we still need cute outfits to keep us warm in the winter. I love this dress over the white sweater. the print of the dress creates such a great contrast against the sweater. this is such a good way of wearing our favourite dresses even on chilly days. If the dress has a nice print, keep the colour choice of the sweater neutral. Photo Credit: @whowhatwear on twitter #winter #outfit #trend #fashion

I've shared my favourite style influencers of 2017 but what about everything we have to look forward to. 2018 is sure to be full of trends we'll be stalking the high street for - I thought I'd share my top five. The first has to be checks. There is always a print dominating the catwalks and checks are sure to be found on our coats and trousers this year. Think Clueless but a bit more grown up - definitely one to watch. Image credit: Popsugar

Take a quick breather from your Christmas dinner prep to consider what you’re going to wear for the festivities ahead. Because your trusty LBD or go-to posh top and jeans combo isn’t going to cut it here. If you’re re-reading the dress-code fine print on the invite of the Christmas Eve party you RSVPed to ages ago but kind of forgot about, just think easy glamour. Throw-on-and-go pieces that’ll ensure you’re ready in 20 minutes flat. Christmas Day is trickier because it depends on what your family traditions are.

Midnight mass means you may be hotfooting from party to church without any time to change, but it’s better to be overdressed than underdressed in that case. For a daytime service: a dreamy dress or tailored trousers and shirt will carry you elegantly through. If you don’t plan on leaving the house, some charming pyjamas are perfect to relax, eat, open presents and watch TV in. For Christmas lunch or a pub drink, we’d recommend bringing out your (roomy) Christmas jumper again for another wear but teamed with a chic skirt or chino instead to nail smart casual.

Our ready-to-shop outfit edits below will provide ample inspiration.

Phew! Christmas Day falls on a Monday this year which means you still have the whole weekend, as in three days including today, to get, wrap and give all your gifts. So if you’ve left it to the last minute, waited until pay day, been procrastinating or simply had no idea what to get certain people- no one else needs to know. Fingers crossed everything you want is still in stock, although you may have missed delivery times for online orders unless you’re willing to pay extra for next day delivery. Some retailers thankfully do click and collect and if all else fails, print off your online order and give that instead as indisputable proof you got them something. Just remember to hide/remove the price.

To help you on your gift mission, we’ve put together some quickfire jewellery, books and music edits to shop now below. And here are the rest of our gift guides for added inspiration!

With only ten days away from the New Year it's time to say goodbye not only to 2017 but to all the fashion trends we loved and welcome 2018 with open arms. Last year saw the resurgence of many brands, the return of logomania, a bloom of mid-tier designer brands, sparkles, loungewear as daywear, vinyl, reds, and who can forget millennial pink? Now a little wiser we take a look at the trends you'll want to invest for next year!

NEW TRENCHES

Take cues from Loewe SS18 and invest in a trench coat that is a bit different than your classic version. It may feature cutouts, fringing or even alternative colouring to your regular camel hues.

FRINGES ALL AROUND

Speaking of fringing, this is another trend borrowed from previous seasons that is still going strong for 2018. Get inspired by Acne Studios, Diane Von Furstenberg, Calvin Klein and Elie Saab.

CHECK, PLEASE

Yes, the check trend is not going anywhere soon, but like all things, it's growing and getting better. This year, add a few unexpected colours to your usual grey palette and don't hesitate to experiment with textures.

WHITE OUT

Probably influenced by menswear one of the biggest trends for next year will be the all-white-outfit. Think of Jennifer Lopez's outfit in the maid or a simple white blazer and trousers, as an alternative business attire. This is the perfect alternative to 2017's colour suiting.

ANIMAL LOVE

So 2017 saw a boom in animal print with leopard print taking centre stage and brushing off any previous trashy connotations. This year, the animal print expands from leopard print to include snakeskin, animal print patches and it's not only for your shoes and bags but also for trousers or jackets.
