We're all familiar with that pre-Christmas gifting feeling. We start making lists by artfully extracting information on what our loved ones would like for Christmas. With the same intention we give out information about ourselves. It's all part of the beautiful game of gifting, sharing and ultimately spending time with our favourite people.

For our mothers, sisters and best friends, COACH has a lovely selection of beautifully crafted bags, clutches, cross body bags and other intricately designed accessories that are both bold fun yet classic and chic. Go for a personal charm, a key chain, a gold bangle or a dazzling necklace.

For the men in our lives there's a wide selection of luxe leather items. Go for a practical and sleek leather jacket in a plain monochrome hue or in a bold pattern. Opt for a leather bag or business briefcase and add a personalised tag for the ultimate gifting experience. If you're looking more for a budget solution, choose winter accessories such as leather gloves and a scarf or seasonless winners like a personalised leather wallet or card holder.

Did we mention that many gift items are on sale? Shop your favourite styles below. Hurry sale ends soon.

Never mind the naysayers- they’re just jealous you’ve got a (expensive?) holiday ahead where you’ll be toning up and getting a tan by default. Ski season lasts up until April approximately and zipping down a mountain is so exhilarating you’ll feel like you’re flying. Once you get over your fear of falling and figure out how to keep your balance on skis or a snowboard of course. Expect a bruised backside if you’re a beginner- padded ski trousers will help cushion the blows.

Standing out of the slopes is essential not only for sartorial reasons but to ensure you can be easily spotted should danger arise. Put on a hat, googles, base layers, a ski coat, ski pants, ski socks, and gloves plus your ski/board boots and you’re set. Go wild with colour and prints should you wish or stick to block colours and chic monochrome. Apres ski style simply calls your normal winter go-tos with added thermal base layers, even warmer knits and snow ready boots.

Take your cue from the priests and grandpas of this world by slipping your socked feet into an open toed sandal. There. How does that feel? Toasty we’d bet. Besides hiding un-manicured toes, or not depending on how sheer your socks are, you’ll be able to walk through winter in your summer sandals doubling their cost-per-wear ratio. And give your feet a breather from boots and sneakers. Street style stars have been doing this for a while and we can’t fault this subversive styling trick.

There is an art to tastefully putting your socks and sandals together though. As a general rule of thumb, the higher the heel, the chicer the feel and what a welcome refresh a coloured pair is for a monochrome look. Match and clash colours and you’ll need to make sure sock and strap thickness is in sync. A super thin strap will only get lost with a chunky sock ruining the effect. And for goodness sake show them off with cropped trousers and calf-hitting hemlines.

I’m obsessed with this cute outfit from Missguided! Borg denim jackets are certainly all the range this season, so why not get on board with the trend with this lovely number? I personally love the contrast between the pink of the jacket and the monochrome gingham skirt! #ootd #missguided #fashion #outfitinspo Photo Credit: @Missguided on Twitter

Thankfully the Nike Air Max 97s popped up on our feed just as we were ready to move on from the still great but pretty ubiquitous Vans ‘Old Skool’ monochrome sneakers. Sleek, futuristic, and inspired by Japanese bullet trains, the sneaker style made a massive comeback in 2017 20 years on, in colourways ranging from classic black and white, to metallics, pastels and triple tones. Grime artist Skepta even dropped his own in collaboration with Nike and women have really lead the charge by styling theirs in fresh and unexpected ways we’re dying to recreate.

Model Paloma Elsesser teamed hers with trackies, WAH Nails creator Sharmadean Reid wore them with a bohemian-ish midi dress, while The Working Women’s Club founder Phoebe Lovatt paired hers with white jeans. Never mind the countless hypebaes, sneakerheads and streetstyle stars who have proved how great they look laced up with printed trousers, mini dresses and more. Proof, if you needed more, that ’90s style brought bang up to date is still going strong and these are the ultra-cool alternative to any other shoe: even on a night out. What’s even better is that these styles are still kind of semi-exclusive so not everyone is wearing them.

Monotone dressing was quite popular this fall and winter. As we’re getting closer and closer to 2018 the streetstyle trends are signalling us that monotone is out and colourblocking is in. Monotone dressing is a way to be bold and it is great to make a statement. Yet, colourblocking is even better since it makes an even bolder statement in dressing. The most popular trend is colourblocking red and pink since it is the best way to show off the trend. The clash of the two colours make your outfit look bold and bright. With this trend you’ll definitely be turning heads. #monotone #monochrome #colourblocking #streetstyle #trend #fashion #spring #summer

If you packed away your '90s slip dress at the first hint of cold, you’re seriously missing a trick. This wardrobe hero was made for layering so, after putting a t-shirt underneath it during the summer, why don’t you add a top or body with longer sleeves and a higher neck? The benefit is obvious- extra warmth- plus there’s way more fabric space to embellish and play with. Think ribbed turtlenecks, buttoned-up collars and extra-long shirt cuffs, and even a sequinned sleeve to make this throw-on-and-go look very NYE.

What these slips do create is a slinky silhouette so stay clear of bulky base layers and anything that will ruin the lines. Paring these two pieces together is also a great opportunity to boldly colour block with bright accessories or keep things monochrome and tonal. Clashing textures and patterns is another way to keep this partnership fresh, along with a statement earring or bag slung over one shoulder.

Check out the gallery above for styling inspiration and shop our favourite slip + long sleeve top pairings below.

Riverdale's Veronica Lodge, or Ronnie to friends and fans, is without a doubt the next generations Blair Waldorf. For some time I've been hoping for something to replace the Gossip Girl shaped hole in my heart and whilst Riverdale is very different (fabulous all the same) Ronnie's style and sass is definitely helping. I love her preppy look, seen here on the actress's Instagram @camimendes. She wears a lot of monochrome, big bows, white shirts and cute jackets and structures bags.

Contrary to popular belief, socks are not boring or a rubbish male Christmas present. We can see how they got a bad rep, given how practical they are and how plain they used to be, but thankfully that is no longer the case. In fact, as trouser hems have got higher, revealing more than just an ankle bone or slither of calf, they’ve got bolder and brighter. Designers and brands have been letting their imaginations run wild so men can literally dip their toes in colour and print. These new socks are one thing that’s guaranteed to upgrade a grey winter’s day and an otherwise unremarkable look.

Of the sock tribes spotted among the well-dressed men among the streetstyle set and on our morning commute, three stand out. Vivid single shade colour is the minimalist’s choice- adding interest and catching the eye when styled with neutrals and monochrome. And designers socks are a great gateway purchase- hype beasts use them to signal their love for the brand, especially the ones peppered with logos and recognisable motifs. Then there are the maximalists who dive feet first into the rainbow- clashing shades and patterns at will.

It’s simply a matter of taste so shop our edit of the socks worth gifting and adding to your collection below.

One thing we took away from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s engagement announcement yesterday, besides their infectious joy and the gorgeous ring, was a masterclass in how to wear a white coat now.

The beaming American actress teamed hers with a dark green dress, nude heels and most daringly, bare legs in the cold, completely eschewing the usual neutral or monochrome formula to make the look her own. Less lab coat, more cocktail hour, Markle’s bold move really paid off- proving just how chic a white coat can be and how one can instantly brighten up a dark winter’s day.

She’s not the only one- Gigi Hadid and Selena Gomez have both stepped out in and pulled off white coats while staying true to their enviable personal style. White's versatility, as it goes with everything, is akin to the colour black but it makes a much bigger statement as outerwear.

A word of warning, though, as any marks will ruin the effect. Which means steering clear of red wine and coffee (they’re great but those stains are the worst) when wearing yours and making friends with your local dry cleaner. There’s no denying it: a white coat is high maintenance but it’s worth it.

Browse through our gallery for styling tips then shop the looks and our white coat picks below!
