Susan Miller. If the Aquarius in your life knows who 'fashion’s favourite astrologer' is, as Semaine dubbed her, and reads their in-depth horoscope religiously every month then they’re bound to appreciate a zodiac themed gift. Stick with a card if you're unsure and, as their birthday is between the 20th January and 19th February, you’ve got to be quick as their special day may have already been and gone. Something clear for an air sign is an abstract way to nod to the sign and tap into the 2018 plastic trend (if you’re not tackling plastic pollution). And according to Miller, Aquarians are inventive, creative, social and highly intelligent. Whether you honestly feel that’s true or not, you won’t go far wrong with a present that combines these positive qualities with their personality.

There’s a wonderful array of Aquarius jewellery to treat your loved one to, whether they’re into sparkly stones, minimalist constellations or words motifs, which can be personalised. Only Vetements could make the double wave symbol so cool on a plain t-shirt that’s perfect with jeans, while Hugo Boss turned all of the zodiac signs into an elegant scarf pattern. Some impossibly chic emblazoned raffia mules will be their new favourite summer shoes, and they can sip hot drinks from a gorgeous white, black and gold thematic mug from Liberty London. Everything we’ve found will reflect your good taste and theirs.

Check out some famous Aquarians in the gallery above then shop our exciting edit of Aquarius gifts below.

Fashion’s Indie wave has brought something entrenched in history and culture back to our closets. Ladies and gentlemen, put your hands together for the enchanting piece of clothing better know as the sari.

In the era of instant gratification and fast fashion, the sari testifies or glorious history of our past, and helps us bring words like textile, handloom, block prints, and embroidery back into our vocabulary.

And then there’s the charm of drapes. The joy of wearing the same piece of clothing in a 100 different ways and the liberty of mixing and matching it with different silhouettes, ranging from the choli to your reliable crisp white shirt.

Dresses, be gone! Inspired to wrap yourself up in the whole nine-yards? Our edit below will make you want to join the Indie brigade.

Bill Cunningham, the man accredited with popularising the genre of 'street style photography', passed away on Saturday at 87 years old. Cunningham had worked at the New York Times since 1970. The fashion industry have been reflecting on what a humble, talented, dedicated and revolutionary photographer he was.

With people like Suzy Menkes of Vogue recalling that 'At age 87, Bill Cunningham was still cycling around New York, refusing my offer to share a taxi, even when it snowed. I shall miss him so. As will the fashion world which has lost an honest and true reporter worthy of the New York Times'.

What made Cunningham such a special figure in the industry was the way in which he only ever celebrated those he captured and the fashion they wore, never depicting his subjects in a negative way.

The 2010 documentary entitled Bill Cunningham New York made his name a household one not just one familiar in the industry. His vision was to never be on a publication's payroll for his work, not wanting the way he reported to be compromised. Famously Cunningham said 'Money is the cheapest thing, liberty and freedom are the most expensive'.

Unlike most street style photographers he did not purely focus on those who were attending Fashion Weeks but anyone who caught his attention. Anne Wintour once remarked that 'women who love fashion don't get dressed for men- or even other women- fashion people get dressed so they can get noticed by Bill Cunningham'.

Cunningham was a pioneer, and someone who let the fashion of the people on the streets shine. He will be missed by many in the industry and everyone who admired his work, but his approach to fashion photography will continue to be revolutionary. Scroll the gallery above to relive some of his most famous works.

Every fashionista worth her salt knows there’s no better place to establish herself as an insider than fashion week itself. Here’s how to survive the five days of the season like a pro:

Make an impression:
Fashion week gives you the liberty to put your best foot forward—to put on a garb that, in the outside world, would be considered downright bizarre.

Word of the wise:
Strike the right balance between on-trend and crazy, and you’ll have created a look that will make the shutterbugs crazy.

Do your homework:
May be you studied the intricacies of embroidery back in college. Perhaps you were training to be an engineer before the world of design came knocking at your door. It doesn’t matter. Every season is new, and throws a new world of design possibilities before you. Off handed comments—not a good idea. Feel free to give your opinion, but do your research before.

Network, network:
The who’s who from the world of fashion will be there. Make sure you network, and network good. Don’t seem over eager to get to know everybody around. Instead, allow yourself to flow into conversations, and be introduced to people you don’t know. Then, politely hand them over your card, and introduce yourself and your line of work in a sentence or two. You never know you may just land up your next big assignment to job!

They say ‘beauty is pain’, but wearing heels all day can get really old, really fast! If you’ve ever mentally berated your heels and cursed whoever invented them, it might be time to switch to something a bit more comfortable.

Ditching your heels doesn’t have to mean ditching your style if you opt for a pair of statement trainers that are the perfect accessory to a laid-back, casual look.

The best way to style your statement trainers is to pick one item you can match it with, whether it’s your bag, jacket, jeans, leggings or t-shirt.

Make sure the rest of your outfit complements, rather than clashes with your look. Going all-black or all-white is a great way to make this happen.

Shop our top 20 statement trainers below!
