What a fabulous look from blogger, Megan. A printed knit has been teamed with a spotted denim skirt and biker boots to create an epic outfit! I adore the denim jacket with the orange faux fur trim - so cute! #ootd #meganellaby #bloggerstyle #fashion #topshop Photo Credit: @meganellaby on Twitter

Winter blues are inevitable but a boring winter colour palette is not. This entire winter is about celebrating and adding many layers of bold colours as well as sparkly elements to lift up your mood. If you're too hesitant about sporting glam on your outerwear why not on your feet? Ever since Karl Lagerfeld sent out his models on the Chanel FW17/18 show last March girls everywhere are lusting over that perfect oversized pointy pair of sparkly boots with Kendall Jenner leading the fashionable pack. Luckily for out budgets, there have been many other variations of the shimmery boot in an array of shapes, colours and sizes.

Try a knee-high silver boot over black leggings and your basic knit for a sparkly addition to your smart casual wear. But avoid clogging in material such as jeans inside the boot to avoid any undesirable wrinkly effects. For an evening party look go for a short LBD or try a long dress with a high side slit. The perfect way to offer glimpses of your favourite party boot.

This outfit courtesy of NA-KD Fashion is just something else! I adore the way that the loose fitting knit and the palazzo style trousers go together in terms of colour. This is definitely an outfit which you could rock in the Winter months and not be too chilly - I personally love it! #ootd #winterfashion #nakdfashion #outfitinspo Photo Credit: @NAKDfashion on Twitter

We're letting the buzz from London Collections Men settle as we dissect the must-have items if the next season. As with any season, this one was no different, with a great offering or Britain's finest from Belstaff to Christopher Kane, Ben Sherman and Christopher Raeburn.

ARMY COAT

Go for an army surplus coat courtesy of brands like Belstaff and David Beckham's Kent & Curwen. This is the year to invest in a great utility coat that will accompany you from casual smart drinks to the gym even on a rainy commute to the office. Its multiple occasion versatility makes it ultimately desirable and a great gift for guys by the way.

GOLF KNIT

Glasgow-born Charles Jeffrey is a designer that pushes buttons and embraces a post-gender world in fashion. He showed oversized jumpers stuffed with padding very reminiscent of golfing green, while MAN's Stefan Cooke went for a knit vest.

FAUX FUR PARKA

You would expect models to walk maybe put on a show but definitely not ice dance, right? Well, that was the case for Band of Outsiders who turned Somerset House in in a purpose-built ice ring over the weekend. What stood out was a revamped version of the teddy bear coat in a multitude of colours. That's from London Collections Men for now as we get ready to welcome all the trends from Milan, Paris and New York in the following weeks.

Hurry and be the first to sport the items straight off the runway by shopping our expert edit below!

This is the hue that sets women apart (the winter just denotes the season and warm clothing it colours). Some, who we secretly envy, can keep a bright white outfit bright white for the whole day. It suggests a certain lifestyle devoid of dirt and clumsy spills of red wine, and maybe even a private car as transport to avoid any flying pollution particles. Expensive looking and elegant head to toe or via a cosy coat that hides other colours underneath, it’s worth noting that there is more than one shade- which you’ll know if you’ve ever looked at a paint chart. They’re distinguished by warm and icy undertones so you can pick the best one for your skin tone and avoid looking washed out or ashy.

But what about the dry cleaning bills? Because the fantasy life above is just that, fantasy, for the many of us. A single stain or speck utterly ruins the effect and you’ll stress checking everywhere you sit and everything that touches you for as long as you’re wearing it. White accessories are marginally less risky to sport. In fact, maybe it’s safer to stand or stay indoors or head out armed with a spot cleaning kit for little emergencies. Which means you won’t really be enjoying your day. The way to minimise the cons and maximise the pros is to wear a pop of winter white instead- one piece that will brighten and purify the rest of your look. Say a white knit with jeans or an all black outfit with on-trend black boots.

Add winter white if you’re meticulous enough via our expert edit below.

We’ve got to give it to Gap. Getting some of our favourite instagrammers to rock their rainbow stripe styles as part in their #12daysofcrazystripe campaign pre Christmas was a stroke of genius. Monica Ainley teamed her knit with white jeans and a khaki coat; @andfinally_ founders Anna Vitiello and Florrie Thomas’ cropped shots featured eye-catching jewellery and a beret; while the @belleandbunty girls wore theirs with mini skirts. Not only did the reinvigorated brand succeed in pushing rainbow stripes back on our radar with stellar styling inspiration, they also created this winter’s it pattern.

Sadly Gap’s crazy stripe styles are largely sold out but you’ll find that plenty of your favourite brands and retailers have been lining up to push this colourful trend forward. From trophy tops to dazzling dresses, standout shoes and even activewear and swimwear- there are so many ways to lift your cold weather wardrobe and your spirits. It’s worth noting that the description ‘rainbow’ has been used rather loosely to encompass all bold and kaleidoscopic multi-colour combinations. And despite that, these stripes are just as timeless as their classic Breton counterparts and surprisingly versatile too. Trust us.

They say true style lies in the details - and it's usually accessories. It might be a cute oversized scarf, a vintage watch, a pair of leather ankle boots or a faux fur hat that makes all the difference. But this time we're talking about earrings and more specifically: hoop earrings. An accessory celebrated from women completely independent of their personal style and aesthetic, a hoop earring can truly make an outfit.

Go for oversized sleek hoop earrings for an evening look and put your hair in a high bun to show them off! Finish your look with the perfect party dress and high heels!

Opt for small chunkier pieces that look amazing for a smart casual outfIt or business attire. Again if you want to flaunt them, go for a low bun and finish the look with a white button-down that you can wear under an oversized knit, a great pair of suit trousers, kitten heels and a fab briefcase that exudes pure confidence.

We're thankfully only a few days before the new year arrives and temperatures are quite low. Beating the cold weather while looking chic and carefree is a difficult undertaking but not impossible especially if you've equipped your wardrobe with all the necessary items.

Go for an all-purpose coat that you can wear from the office to the club. Make sure the silhouette is clean and keep your eye on big pockets that can take away from the elegance of your outfit.

Opt for a great chunky knit that you can wear with confidence. Our tip is to go for an oversized jumper or even better a jumper dress for that extra length of warmth. Also, it gives you more styling options: sport it belted with tights or wear it with your favourite pair of jeans.

Extra tip: Grab an extra cup of hot cocoa and make the most of winter!

Our cure for the cabin fever that might be setting in post Christmas and pre New Year’s Eve is gathering your favourites in one place. The people you haven’t seen yet, the long-lost friends at home you’d like to catch up with, old flames, and/or the family you can still stand at yours or theirs to change the ‘eat, watch movie, sleep, repeat’ routine with fun, laughter and games. There’s nothing like a particularly competitive round of Monopoly or Charades to get your mind whirring and juices flowing plus you’ll reminisce about this in the future.

As you recharge your batteries for the new year, you’ll find this may be just what you needed. And there’s no need to dress up either (depending on the crowd). If you’re not sticking to cool pyjamas, we’d suggest a cosy knit dress you can throw on and go with little thought, or a oversized cardigan with jeans with a t-shirt or thermals layered underneath. Enjoy!

There’s few things worse wardrobe-wise than splashing out on a snazzy winter coat, loving the shape and fit, then realising it offers very little protection against the cold. When you wear it, the biting wind rips straight through you as if the coat wasn’t there; sometimes even faux fur isn’t as warming as it looks. And while layers are the obvious solution, you’d rather freeze than spoil the lines with a bulky knit. Us too which is why the gilet is your saving grace.

Essentially an insulating waistcoat, the gilet is sleeveless and ready to be worn under and over said coat. Quilted, puffa, shearling and more- you can choose how lightweight and streamlined you’d like yours to be in relation. If you don’t want anyone to know it’s there, keep it clean and smooth underneath so everyone’s still admiring your outerwear. But if you’d like to push your coat into warm, trophy territory, a fluffy gilet on top is a detachable, statement-making addition.

There's something about the elegance and the comfy factor of a leather woven moccasin. And we can't say that we always vow for comfort when it comes to footwear. But when the two elements of comfort and chicness meet we can only be happy. The 70's resurgence with its many florals denim and blowy silhouettes and overall trend for maximalism call for a solid moccasin. So it was no surprise that the moccasin was our top searched item this week.

Dress it down with a pair of tight fitted jeans, a white crisp shirt and a check blazer for a cool and understated smart day look. Add a cute trench and an oversized bag for the ultimate daywear effect. Take advantage of the hygge effect of the moccasin by wearing it with a chunky knit dress. Add a big piece of jewellery for effect and finish the look off with a 70s saddle bag. Update your business attire by sporting your fave moccasins with a pair of sleek trousers a blazer and a pussy bow blouse. Don't forget the briefcase.

Maybe it’s a clever tactic to simultaneously keep warm and spread a little holiday cheer, or just Save the Children’s genius charity fundraising idea but Christmas jumpers are officially a thing. And as it’s Christmas Jumper day this Friday 15th December, if you see one you like: buy it and put it on asap. All your favourite brands have knitted up some real festive treats from witty puns and slogans, to reindeer and gingerbread motifs, and a sprinkling of stars for those trying to limit the tacky factor. Opt for a tinsel style if you want to take yours into partywear territory. The best thing about a cosy Christmas jumper is that you can wear them everyday over the holidays, no matter your age and size, and the extra room to house an inevitable food baby come Boxing Day is a bonus. To join in properly, Save the Children only asks for a £2 donation in exchange for flaunting your delightful knit.
