You know how some things simply work well together, no questions asked? Like peanut butter and jelly, gin and tonic and of course, all-white ensembles and summer days…

There's something about nailing an all-white outfit that makes you feel and look extra elegant despite the heat. White is our go-to during the summer months and the head-to-toe look is having a moment right now, which is great, if you can get it right. Read on for our tips on how to nail the trend with ease…

White denim

A white pair of jeans is the ideal base, allowing you to experiment with a whole host of options. Opt for faithful cuts that you’d usually rock in blue or black washes and team with a white tee or a silk blouse. Too hot for jeans? Try pressed denim culottes or a distressed off-white skirt for a rock’n’roll twist on the look.

White shoes

White mules were basically invented for summer but if you don’t fancy wearing a heel for your day-to-day, opt for a cool pair of pool slides and pair them with a white summer dress or your jeans.

Plain white tee

You just can't go wrong with a white tee at any time of year. Tuck yours into your jeans or a cool white skirt complete with a wrap front or ruffles. The trick with all white is to break up your profile a little so don’t be afraid to go bold.

White tailoring

A white suit jacket is a stock piece that won’t let you down. Use yours to jazz up your jeans, toughen a skirt or give a maxi dress a little more of an edge. Nothing beats a classic pantsuit so rock the matching white pants with a cool cami top and block heels for desk-to-dark flair.

Remember 10 years ago when white skinnies were the pinnacle of cool? Well, white jeans are back and this time round they’re way easier to wear. In fact, relaxed white denim is hotter than hot right now and we’re thanking the fashion gods for their graciousness…

Rocking white denim is easy – simply team your wide-leg jeans with a classic white tee, slip on a pair of luxe pool slides and grab that basket bag. Or if a denim jacket’s more your vibe, throw an off-white number over your sundress and complete the look with oversized gold-toned or tortoiseshell-style sunnies.

Relaxed silhouettes reign but so do ruffles and a rips so don’t be scared to invest in a skirt or pair of shorts with a little extra detailing for sunny afternoons at home and on your holidays – might we suggest a knotted white shirt and shorts for your next city break and a cute skirt with mules for that afternoon drinks date?

If you feel like taking the plunge and opting for double denim, you can’t really go wrong with all white. Team cool culottes with simple trainers and a cropped denim jacket and throw in a tan leather bag for a classic finish.

Find everything you need to nail the trend in our edit below…

One of the hottest pieces to own right now is a kimono. Dating back to 14th century Japan, the robe-style jacket has been a street style favorite in recent years and shows no signs of letting up. Although there are  a wide array of lengths, patterns and fabrics ranging from casual to luxe printed silk, a kimono has the power to  instantly jazz up your outfit without much effort.

Our Editors have agreed on the four ways you’ll want to wear your kimono this summer so take note, fashion fans...

Go simple

Choose a pair of high-waisted jeans, a basic tee and throw on your kimono of choice. Pair your outfit with mules or Greek-style sandals for undeniable summer wow factor.

Go tonal

Don your favorite shade of cover-up and opt for a  tonal color from head to toe. No denim necessary, just rock your go-to hue. For the beach

For a great holiday look simply wear your kimono over a one-piece swimsuit and pair it with slides, an XXL beach bag and your signature sunnies.

Do stripes

Don't be afraid to experiment with different prints and patterns. A striped cover-up is your go-to as an alternative office jacket. Pair it with slim fit pants, a blouse, a wicker bag and sunnies for an effortlessly cool look.

Summer is one of the best seasons to show off in broderie detailing. By broderie we of course mean embroidered, lace-trimmed  tops and summer dresses in angelic white and dreamy ivory tones that perfectly complement sun-kissed skin.

Whether you're planning to attend a wedding, a festival, a big summer event or just a casual cookout with friends, you simply can't go wrong with a white embroidered piece..

Taking cues from blogger-extraordinaire and recent mummy Leandra Medine, don a broderie crop top with a pair of gold shorts and white espadrilles. Finish the look with your favorite gold-toned bangles, oversized earrings, black Ray Bans and a bold red lip.

For the ultimate beach to bar look, pair your broderie mini dress with a romantic and basket bag, a pair of espadrille sandals, oversized sunnies and a floppy straw hat. Add a pair of big gold-toned hoops, and a pendant to amp-up your summer ensemble.

If you're planning to attend a festival this summer, opt for a broderie jacket with a crop top and a pair of your favorite wide-leg jeans. Top the look off with a leather cross-body bag and an array of your most colorful accessories.

For a romantic date night try combining a classic broderie top with a sexy red mini skirt. Finish your look with a stiletto heel and your favorite miniature cross-body bag.

There's no doubt that with balmy temperatures arriving there'll be a slew of outdoor events in our calendars and the obvious winner is brunch. Nothing quite beats sitting outside a café sipping rose and munching on pancakes in summer, does it?

This is a pretty casual event, so what should one wear for a brunch date? Half lazy, late breakfast with friends, half excuse to dress up like a lady who lunches, we want something that's a mix between comfortable and chic. We looked to our Editors to select four outfits to help you nail dressing for brunch with ease…

Keep things flirty with a crochet dress, strappy sandals and a straw hat. Add a long scarf or denim jacket for those chilly mornings.

Go for a casual look by donning a pair of cut-off jeans, a cool slogan tee and a cardigan. Chanel some sass by throwing a pair of mules to the mix and complete the ensemble with an XXL bag.

Opt for muted, neutral tones with a pair of white straight-leg jeans, a relaxed tee, espadrilles and a basket bag that you'll be wearing all summer long.

Polka dot dresses are everywhere this season. Style yours with a pair of cute ankle boots, a pair of vintage sunnies and a round-handle bag.

Tailoring is perfect for any occasion, as long as you know how to do it properly. We’ve put together a few tips on how to rock a tailored look and a helpful edit to ensure you can get the look, whatever your budget. With our help, sporting the right suit for your next event should be a breeze…

Layering

Although there's no formula per se, there are a few commandments you can easily follow to nail suiting. Generally, you’ ll want three pieces. Go for a shirt, blazer and a pair of light pants. With your key item in mind, play around with the rest of your outfit combining textures, hues and fabrics accordingly.

Pattern

Update your standard office look with a check jacket for smart-casual dressing at its finest. The finished look can be dialled up or down depending on your mood. Don't be afraid to try a mismatched fabric combo... It will lend your typical look an edge.

Casual

Reaching a fine equilibrium between a rigid suit and a slouchy weekend wardrobe is an art. Achieve come-as-you-are nonchalance by combining tailored pants with relaxed sweaters and sleek white sneakers.

Evening

If you can afford to, consult with a personal tailor for an expert fit. With the customised suit at hand, opt for a buttoned-down white crisp shirt and loafers. When it comes to fabric choice we say to go the extra mile and choose something luxe.
