I love scouring the internet for interior inspo - probably inspo I'll. ever be able to act on in my rented house but fun all the same. This look is just stunning. Pastels have been such an integral part of all fashion and interior trends over the last year and it's so great to see it lasting. The contrast of pastel and bold pinks is effortless. The copper detailing is just the right amount of embellishment for these cute colours. Image: The Sunday Times online

allnof the metallics have been on trend at some point over the last year. We've loved copper, we've really loved rose gold and now silver is set to shine. I love this interiors look (Instagram @kate.lavie) because the colours really compliment the bright gold. The pop of yellow in the upholstery and mimic of golds around the room make it completely radiant. It is warm but not brash, just enough to make me want to curl up with a cup of tea and a book.

These interiors are just something else! I am obsessed with the colour scheme in this room, not to mention the tropical wallpaper - so cute! This is what I want my dining room to look like in the future for sure. #interiors #interiordesign #interiorgoals Photo Credit: @dreamsisterjane on Twitter

As we’re move closer to February, Christmas holidays seem like a distant memory. It’s only natural that we start getting that escapist feeling in order to recharge and reboot. The perfect way to relax without breaking the bank is by organising a short weekend getaway on US soil. With Valentine’s Day coming up you may want to organise a romantic weekend away with your beau or conversely a fun weekend with your  best mates. So get your travel essentials, and prep your carry on we here at Shopcade have prepared a small travel guide with the best cities to visit this winter!

Napa Valley

For your ultimate wine tasting getaway book a room near a vineyard and fully indulge yourself in what the city has to offer:  olive groves, and the Mayacamas Mountains.

Calistoga, California

Looking for a romantic getaway with your significant other? How about a secluded ranch in the middle of California offering plenty of activities outdoors and impressive wooden interiors of a classically crafted lodge.

Connecticut

If you think that romance is dead then how about going to a place where Victorian romanticism and architecture thrive? Yes, we're talking about Connecticut and its offering of 19th century fairytails in the charming seaport village of Mystic, Connecticut.

Twin Farms, Barnard, Vermont

For a truly romantic weekend of yesteryear aesthetic look no further than Vermont. There between the maple and pine trees of Barnard, lies a 18th century  farmhouse that once belonged to Nobel Prize-winning writer Sinclair Lewis. Literary getaway check!

Tennesee

To experience the true farmhouse adventure head to the Great Smoky Mountains of eastern Tennessee. You'll be surprised to find amazing farms with a few sparse bucolic hill cottages and grand, multi-bedroom homes. Fill your days  with pursuits like horseback riding, fly-fishing, and canoeing and enjoy indulgent dinners at the hotel.

This time of the year is perfect for all of those endless afternoons of hibernating. This is a difficult task if our homes are messy or don't reflect our personal taste. After you read our post on the Mari Kondo way of tidying up, think about purchasing a few items to revamp your space! Sure we might live in small flats but aesthetic shouldn't be influenced by that. Take the fashion influencers for example, as they pose for their individual ootds, they give us glimpses of a home decor that perfectly defines their style. So how can you quickly elevate your flat you ask without breaking the bank?

Here are a few items you'll need:

The Rug
Opt for a cool snuggle-friendly rug you can throw to the floor. It will give your room a sense of your style and much-needed character. Plus it's the perfect alternative to a carpet that can quickly get dirty and weary.

A Marble Table
Oh yes, that fabulous material has been the perfect sidekick to any influencer flat lay shot that appeared in 2017. Apart from your Insta snapshots though, the table is practical and looks amazing IRL.

The Throw
Remember when you used to hang paintings and posters on the wall? How drab. Go for a colourful throw instead for an artsy taste of hygge to your space.

Flower Power
Scratch that posters will do. True magic lies in fresh flowers. Just ask Pandora Sykes and Leandra Medine.

Sheets
Go for a blush pink or violet shade to bring femininity and relaxation to your bedroom.

The Full Mirror
Well, how would you take those morning ootd's without that mirror? Opt for the squiggle one for that extra character.

French restaurant, Le Gavroche, has not adapted its decor since opening 50 years ago. Whilst one would assume its interiors to have become dated they present what can only be described as an 'Instagrammable' bathroom. The antique hand mirrors adorning the wall evoke a fairytale feel. Pretty and quaint and an air of French vintage. Image: Vogue

Months after Tiffany & Co. New York opened their first in store cafe, because we all need a coffee whilst we peruse Diamonds, Gucci Garden, Florence, has opened a restaurant in the experiential store. Three Michelin Star chefs take the reigns on the creation of Gucci tortellini and even Gucci scampi. International Editor of Vogue Suzy Menkes muses that perhaps this is the demise of fast fashion. Clothing is an experience and dining on your trip to Gucci creates just that. And aren't those interiors just divine? Image: The Guardian

I am always amazed, and excited, by what becomes a coveted trend in lifestyle and interiors. Who would have thought I'd be desperate for Christmas cards adorned with llamas? And yet here we are, post-flamingo hype, seeing llamas printed on anything and everything. I suppose it is no surprise cactus has well and truly become a home foliage staple. In fact, foliage itself is a much loved finishing touch to the home. It is surprising, however, that this love for plants is spilling into other orifices of the home. Botanical prints taking inspiration from our in-home gardens can be found on duvet covers and the like. A not so secret garden. Image: Marks and Spencer

Everyone knows Pandora Sykes is my ultimate girl crush. Fashion journalist and all round style guru Pandora is one of my favourite people to follow. Pandora knows her style from her dress sense to her interiors. Everything about Pandora's aesthetic oozes London chic. She's a girl who isn't afraid to try a trend and will most likely pull it off.  You may have missed the memo that Pantone’s Colour of the Year for 2017 was ‘Greenery’ in the mist of all the millennial pink. The influential colour forecaster picks a very specific colour every year that creeps into trends, interiors and wardrobes worldwide and this year’s refreshing yellowy-green supposed to symbolise nature and new beginnings. We’re bringing this up now because 2018’s colour has just been announced: ‘Ultra Violet’. Not be to confused with ‘Love Symbol #2’- iconic artist Prince’s official hue- this dark, blue based purple is brighter and more mysterious; signalling originality, forward thinking and mindfulness. It’s actually very close to Cadbury’s chocolate purple, which is as good an excuse as any to tote and try as many flavours as possible in the coming year. And both 2017 and 2018 shades are surprising easy to wear: whether head-to-toe a la Versace SS18 for Ultra Violet or teamed with other tones if you’re discerning about the shade.

Get into ‘Greenery’ for the rest of the month then pop in ‘Ultra Violet’ from January with our ready-to-shop edits below!
