Holiday season is here and that means it’s time to pack up and ship off. Well, you’re probably more likely to be boarding a plane to your summer vacay destination, but you get the idea.

Travelling like a pro is easy if you follow a few simple rules and of course, one of the most important is to invest in the right luggage. You don’t want to be one of those unfortunate people having to unpack their carry-on at the check-in desk.

In fact, sailing through the airport looking like a star is the mark of any experienced luxury traveller. So, whether you’re heading to the south of France for a week in the sun or to Bali for a well-deserved beach session be sure to pick out the perfect suitcase for your trip.

We’ve picked out a few of our favourites – from ultra-tough cases to luxe weekend bags and backpacks – to ensure you arrive at your destination calm, collected and looking your best.

If there’s one thing we recommend investing in for wedding season it’s a decent line-up of designer shoes. Now, hear us out – when all your summer events roll around, you’re going to be on your feet for most of the day and dancing all night.

There’ll be plenty of photos, there’ll be dress codes and there’ll definitely be more than one wedding to attend. All this means that a few decent pairs of shoes that both look and feel incredible are essential.

Opting for a cheap pair of stilettos might seem like a great idea at the time, but by the time you hit the dancefloor, you’ll probably be wishing you hadn’t bothered with them.

The secret to investing in a great pair of occasion shoes is considering their versatility. A statement pair will lend any neutral dress a touch of event-ready flair, whereas a classic sandal or stiletto will complement just about anything.

Wedges are a sure-fire winner for summer weddings and heeled mules might be the hot shoe of the moment but they’re pretty much always on trend. Side note: mules are the perfect addition to an androgynous suited look if a dress isn’t your thing.

We’ve gathered our favourite investment occasion shoes to help you get your wedding guest looks on point. Browse our edit below and snap up your favourites before they sell out…

Stripes are always a good idea. They're chic, easy and complement most shapes. This year we' ve seen it all. From bold color-blocked editions, to classic Breton styles, thick bands and rainbow tones. Clashing stripes also got some buzz while oversized striped silhouettes were major winners on the runway.

We’ve rounded up our favourite ways to wear stripes this summer, so you can try them all for yourself...

Classic

Tuck your basic black and white shirt inside a pair of cool denim shorts and style them with mules to elongate your legs. Then just add an XXL bag, sunnies and a straw hat.

Ruffles

Opt for a ruffled striped shirt and pair it with fitted pants, booties and a chic clutch for an easy day-to-night look.

Skirt

Go for a long striped skirt, and style it with a silk blouse neutral heels and sunnies for an elegant twist.

Jumpsuit

Combine two trends in one by sporting a striped jumpsuit. Pair it with pointed kitten heels, a round-handle bag and a bold fedora hat, if you want to channel your inner Amal Clooney.

Ready to rock your stripes? Head to our gallery for more ways to style them and shop our Editors' picks from the exclusive edit below.

Sure dark velvets in luxe, thick textures are the staple of winter months – we see them everywhere, from the runway to our favourite influencer’s homes – but what about styling velvet in summer? Trust us when we say there’s a place for velvet in every home during the sunnier months, but there are a few rules to follow if you want to get it right…

Go brighter

Opting for blush pinks, muted mustards and pale blues is the way to go. If you can’t quite commit to full drapes or a velvet sofa, mix things up by adding velvet cushions, throws and tonal accents to your existing décor.

Get textural

Full-on velvet can be a bit much for anyone to handle so mix things up for the new season by juxtaposing your velvet pieces with lighter fabrics, like linen and cotton in light tones. Create a tactile feast for the senses with velvet cushions, woven rugs and lightweight throws.

Statement flair

Velvet is by no means the subtlest of materials so incorporating a statement piece for the rest of your interior to play off is always a good idea. Investing in a plush sofa, velvet armchair, pouf or footstool or a statement headboard is a great way to lend your space a little pizazz and get your velvet hit in one fell swoop.

Coachella may be over but we’re still totally inspired by those California desert vibes. Whether it’s our favourite bloggers sunning it up in Joshua Tree or gorgeous shots of cute stores in mountain towns, the Cali aesthetic is all over Instagram and has stolen our hearts.

We love the laid-back boho décor typically found in cool desert homes, so we decided to create an edit and a few insider tips to help you nail the look in your space for less.

How to create a desert-inspired boho home look…

Go greener

Now, the desert wouldn’t be the desert without a few cacti so the first thing on your list should be desert plants. Whether you opt for a family of tiny succulents or a statement aloe, bringing green indoors not only looks great, it’s proven to boost your mood. If, however, you’re a notorious plant killer, opt for a few plastic plants – there are some amazing ones to be found in our edit.

Mix your textures

Want to nail that boho look? Mix up your fabrics and patterns and don’t be afraid to layer clashing cushions and throws. A statement rug and a few scatter pillows can go a long way.

Go west

Desert-inspired homes always pay homage to the Wild West so whether you drape ponchos over your chairs, opt for bull-horn accessories or invest in a wall hanging, channel a little American history with your interiors look.

Light it up

The California desert is one of the brightest, sunniest spots on earth so filling your room with light is a must. Go for metallic accents and mirrors to brighten your space and clash light tones with pops of colour. Extra lamps are always a good idea too.

Last season it was black and white ginghams wherever I turned and now its colourful plaids. After Burberry’s collections of rainbow checked trenchcoats, the fashion world became obsessed with the idea of colourful plaids. Not usually a summer pattern, plaids are now big in street styles. Add the trendiest pattern of the season to your wardrobe with yellow plaid pants or pink plaid blouses. #plaid #trend #pattern #check #burberry #fashion #streetstyle

Spring is all about dewy skin, barely there shimmers and healthy glows but knowing how to help your skin look its best can be tricky. Protecting it from pollutants in the air is tough and layering up on make up doesn’t always help either. We enlisted the help of some of our favourite beauty bloggers and editors to put together a list of tricks and tools to help you get glowing skin in next to no time. So ditch the foundation, put a cross on your calendar and prepare for a night in dedicated to skincare and spa-like relaxation.

How to detox your skin…

Drink more

It sounds obvious but staying hydrated is the key to great skin. Water and tea are best for flushing the toxins out of your body but avoid black teas and stick to a green tea or a brew made from nettles, dandelion and other detoxifying ingredients.

Work out

Raising your heart rate and breaking a sweat are great for resetting your system, your skin included. Sweating out impurities that build up from snacking on junk food and exposing your skin to pollution and dirt is great but just make sure you hit the shower after a work out to avoid sweat drying on your skin.

Try dry brushing

Brushing your skin helps to slough away dead skin cells and gently help your face and body to feel softer and look brighter. Massaging your skin also helps so investing in a little hand-held massage roller is a great idea too.

Exfoliate your skin and use a mask

Using a face and body exfoliator is a must if you want glowing skin to rival a beauty blogger. Stick with something gentle and exfoliate once a week. You can also use an electric exfoliator like a Foreo – these are great for when you’re in a rush. Using a face mask will also help to nourish and heal your skin, drawing out impurities and leaving it feeling renewed.

Steam your skin

Warm steam is great for your skin so take a cleansing bath or make some time to use a special beauty steamer. Your face will thank you for it.

It's true that dressing for work everyday, especially if you work in the creative industries, can cause anxiety that you just don't need in your life. We’ve all experienced ‘decision-making stress’. It's actually why Mark Zuckerberg and Steve Jobs used to wear the same "uniform" to work every day, so they’d have one less decision to worry about.

There are plenty of times when a simple trouser and shirt combo will do, but we tend to fall into the outfit trap of looking samey, especially during the winter season, sporting the same sweater a few days in a row.

How to create the perfect work capsule wardrobe…

Dressing for work shouldn't be difficult if you simply invest in a few key items. For example, opting for a versatile suit or a few blazers is a great idea because you can change the look up with shirts, jumpers or T-shirts. Then go for a really great pair of trousers coupled with work-ready sweaters.

If you want to step outside of the usual blazer and trousers uniform, opt for a midi skirt, a pair of corduroy pants or, if your workplace allows it, a statement jumpsuit. If you own the key ingredients it should be fairly easy to mix and match in order to create an elegant outfit Monday to Friday hassle-free.

So I'm a little be late to the party, or fashion show, here but how cool is Balenciaga's S/S campaign?! The shots that first surfaced on social media capture mock paparazzi photos. It's such a fun idea - perhaps inspired by Yeezy? I love the nuance that the clothes are so exclusive we're trying to catch a glimpse through the lens. Also, I am obsessed with this outfit. I love the red tartan this is something I am always attracted to and the shoes are fabulous. Image: Agence Bestimage
