Look, we get it ok? Trying to save the world is a tough gig, especially when there are a million other things on your mind...

Making the right choices when you’re shopping, doing your bit for the environment by recycling, walking instead of driving – should you really have to give up wearing your favourite brands too?

Newsflash, you don’t have to. The idea that sustainable style isn’t affordable or cool is pretty out-dated. You only have to look at high-end labels like Stella McCartney or gorgeous high street offerings from the likes of H&M and Mango to know that conscious fashion looks better than ever.

Whether you’ve got cash to splash on a Stella handbag or whether a pair of vegan leather heels courtesy of Nasty Gal’s more your vibe, there’s no reason you shouldn’t be filling your wardrobe with a few more sustainable pieces.

We love People Tree for cool day dresses, classic Breton tees and designer collaborations, Patagonia for our active days and of course, Kowtow for easy on-duty styling that’s great for desk to drinks.

Browse our favourite sustainable style picks for every budget below…

Tassels have been a trend since Gatsby returned in 2013. We suddenly seemed to remember that fun fashion of the twenties. Tassels have adorned all of our evening wear since. Statement earrings are also on the scene and naturally the trends have merged. Tassels earrings are the perfect way to add a pop of colour to an outfit. Try coordinating them with your bag or shoes to make a real statement. Image: H&M

No one was expecting that Queen Elizabeth II would sit in the front row for the very first time, on the closing day of London Fashion Week The monarch presented the inaugural Queen Elizabeth II Awards for British Design to Richard Quinn and sat through his entire collection. But who is Richard Quinn that made Fashion and Royalty history?

BOLD PRINTS

He established his namesake label in 2016 after graduating from Central Saint Martins with the Fashion MA. He's made a name for himself for his feminine silhouettes and bold use of print.

HIGH STREET LINK

This week Shopcade turns to influencer and author of the blog 'Ninety Percent Stardust' Rachel Reaney, for an instant fashion and beauty boost. Her blog chronicles her daily life, trends, travels and enviable skin beauty treatments. We caught up with the busy blogger, influencer and Communications professional to talk about creativity, morning routines and exotic destinations.

What compelled you to start your own blog and Instagram account?

I've always chosen photography and fashion as a medium to express myself and Instagram provides the perfect visual platform to do that. Multiple accounts on the platform have not only inspired me personally but have inspired me to start creating and sharing my own content and things that I love.

What do you enjoy most about the creative process?

For me, I really enjoy and find it relaxing to edit photos. I use VSCO to add the final touches to my photos such as adding a vintage grain or warmer tones using a filter. I use an app called Mosaico to plan the layout of my content.

What are the challenges and also the benefits of being a freelance content creator and influencer?

Luckily, I already work in social media so I feel the combination of working with brands as both a consultant and an influencer is very useful, as you can really understand both sides of the equation and how they can partner together in a collaborative way.

What are your non-negotiables regarding your wellness routine?

I'm a skincare junkie and for me feeling good about myself extends to how my skin is behaving. I try to eat lots of vegetables and drink as much water as I can but once a week I'll set aside some time to have some me-only pamper time. I'm currently a fan of beauty brands including Le Labo, The Ouai, Glossier, Nuxe and Rodin.

How would you describe your personal style? Do you have any favourite brands?

For me, I aspire to look low-key yet effortlessly put together. When it comes to my wardrobe I like to mix pieces from high-end designers on Yoox Netaporter such as Acne Studios, Staud and Nanuska with high street staples from Topshop, H&M or the occasional vintage find.

Which are your staples when it comes to dressing up in the morning? It's important to me to be comfortable in whatever I put on.

I tend to favour a good pair of jeans paired with a nude top or ruffled sleeved blouse. I'll then dress this up with gold jewellery and a statement bag.

You're always travelling. Which one of your recent destinations was the most memorable to you and why?

It sounds like a cliche but Oia in Santorini is one of the most beautiful and photogenic places I've ever been to. My next bucket-list destination is a hot air balloon ride over Cappadocia.

What are you working on at the moment? Do you have any specific goals for 2018?

Keep on improving! I've recently upgraded my camera and am excited to take my photos to the next level. On a personal note, my goal is also to enjoy the little moments and joys that life brings - most often or not these aren't planned!
