Another fabulous Coachella look. This is very feminine and 'girly' but the fringing is quite heavy which strikes a great balance. I love the bell sleeves on the jacket. The pastels and pinks update a truly seventies look. A great outfit to pair with cowboy boots to totally complete the vibe of the era. Of course the round sunglasses are Annie to that seventies style too. Perfect festival wear. Image: Getty Images

This is without a doubt my favourite Coachella Street Style look of all the ones I've seen - and there are A LOT. Coachella ootds are all over Instagram but this one has to be the best. I just love how amazingly curated this looks. The double denim for starters is just great. The aspect that stands out the most has to be the crocheted shorts that perfectly coordinate with the fringing on the jacket. I mean, just wow - what a Coachella look. Image: Getty Images

Boho is set to be big this summer but if you’re not ready to go for full-on pom poms and prairie dresses, how about trying a hint of fringe instead? The sleeker, subtler sister of a full-length boho frock, fringed dresses take cues from tasselled garments from way out west.

Look to Christian Dior's collection for cowgirl-inspired pieces, Loewe for knotted T-shirt dresses and Bottega Veneta for ‘60s-style mini dresses adorned with rock’n’roll leather fringing. Want the look for less? Why not try a simple iteration from Mango, where you’ll find fringed panelling and hems for SS18 – perfect for festivals and sunny days.

An easy way to infuse your look with a touch of eclectic cool, designers are opting for fringes and tassels to elevate simple looks to new heights this season. Team yours with simple accessories like leather ankle boots, a minimalist clutch or a pair of barely-there heels to let the detailing take centre stage.

From swinging tassels on day dresses to glittering sequinned threads and flashes of eyelash lace for after dark, fringing is in and here to stay.

Shop our edit of the best fringed dresses, from high street to high end, below…

Denim has historically been one of the most flattering fabrics for both men and women. Its unique versatility factor puts it front and centre for the high street and the high end. The level of creativity for 2018 is uncompromising and can range from a pile of patches acting as jeans to exaggerated forms that can be styled in completely unexpected ways. Look out for lots of cutouts, embroidery, patches and variety in hemlines in our top picks below!

CUTOUTS
#262626">
#262626">Take your cues from Kendall Jenner by styling a cut-out midi denim skirt with a silk spaghetti strap top. Finish the look with a vintage pair of 90s inspired sunnies and an equally grungy pair of mules for an edgier outfit.

MODEL OFF DUTY JEANS
#262626">
#262626">Super tight skinny jeans have morphed into straight cut styles that are comfier and define the silhouette without being constraining. Gigi Hadid and sister Bella were spotted sporting a more laid-back option: layers of denim. To achieve Gigi’s London Fashion Week off-duty look, the model layered chambray and yellow plaid button-downs with a long, frayed denim vest, then stunned with white and light blue layered, cropped jeans.

STEP HEM

If you really want to nail the 2018 denim look then look no further than the step hem, which shows no signs of stopping since last season. You can thank Vetements for the much needed innovative twist! #262626">If you don't have the Vetements budget, why don't you DIY and give one of your pairs a makeover by staggering the edges.Look below for other affordable options. The great thing about the step hem is that you can style it as you please while showing off your shoe.

TRIPLE DENIM

Canadian tuxedo has many retro connotations that range #262626">from Dolly Parton to Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears circa 2001.Nowadays you can triple or quadruple your denim by wearing contrasting shades or denim thickness. Play with proportions and juxtaposing materials for the most impressive results.

FRINGING

For the past three years, tassels and fringes have been put front and centre everywhere from Zara to Anthropologie, without any signs of abandoning the limelight. #262626">The trend's evolved so you don't have to stick to your frayed jeans necessarily. Pick up a fringed mini skirt with fringes, a distressed denim jacket or opt for a pair of uber cool denim sandals finished with tassels. One of our favourites is a distressed denim blouse with a frayed hem courtesy of Marques’ Almeida.

EMBROIDERED

The obvious option here is springtime florals. From rock n roll roses to funky pineapples even quotes make for a super stylish way to decorate your favourite pair of jeans this summer.

PATCHWORK

You can try clashing similar blue tonal panels or play with different sizing by assembling large squares with minuscule patches on the jeans taking cues from Eva Chen and Kendall Jenner. Experiment with positioning pockets in unexpected places or colours. If DIY is not your calling, don't worry. Just browse through our selected edit of denim items and shop your favourite items now!

Camila Mendes is just as stylish as her fictional alter-ego. At every event she is elegant with just the right amount of sass. I love her outfit here, a love letter to Chanel. The coloured tweed and fringing is beautiful and the sheer modernises it and takes it to evening. The Queen of Riverdale at her finest. Image: Elle.com

My fourth chosen trend to watch is fringing. Fringe has been a trend since the seventies came back - and I don't think that decade is going to leave any time soon. Fringe is my favourite seventies trend and set to be bigger than ever in 2018. Fringe suede bags and skirts are the texture to complete every outfit. That's seventies style. With only ten days away from the New Year it's time to say goodbye not only to 2017 but to all the fashion trends we loved and welcome 2018 with open arms. Last year saw the resurgence of many brands, the return of logomania, a bloom of mid-tier designer brands, sparkles, loungewear as daywear, vinyl, reds, and who can forget millennial pink? Now a little wiser we take a look at the trends you'll want to invest for next year!

NEW TRENCHES

Take cues from Loewe SS18 and invest in a trench coat that is a bit different than your classic version. It may feature cutouts, fringing or even alternative colouring to your regular camel hues.

FRINGES ALL AROUND

Speaking of fringing, this is another trend borrowed from previous seasons that is still going strong for 2018. Get inspired by Acne Studios, Diane Von Furstenberg, Calvin Klein and Elie Saab.

CHECK, PLEASE

Yes, the check trend is not going anywhere soon, but like all things, it's growing and getting better. This year, add a few unexpected colours to your usual grey palette and don't hesitate to experiment with textures.

WHITE OUT

Probably influenced by menswear one of the biggest trends for next year will be the all-white-outfit. Think of Jennifer Lopez's outfit in the maid or a simple white blazer and trousers, as an alternative business attire. This is the perfect alternative to 2017's colour suiting.

ANIMAL LOVE

So 2017 saw a boom in animal print with leopard print taking centre stage and brushing off any previous trashy connotations. This year, the animal print expands from leopard print to include snakeskin, animal print patches and it's not only for your shoes and bags but also for trousers or jackets. Have a look at our gallery for more inspiration and shop your favourite styles from our exclusive edit below.

The details for yet another glitter extravaganza catwalk show have been announced, and we can't wait to share it with you! The Victoria's Secret show is only the most watched fashion event of the year with 800 viewers million tuning in annually. Let's break down the details!

VENUE

The location this year (as the event moves around each year, 2014 was held in London), will be in Shanghai. The brand has build a great presence by opening 26 stores in China so it would only be fitting to hold one of the bejewelled catwalks in the oriental capital.

DATE

Although we don't know yet the official catwalk date, it has been confirmed that the show will be broadcast on 28 November.

COSTUMES

There have been many themes in the past. From "sexy sportswear", to "sexy nightwear" and "sexy fairies" but always around the Angels umbrella. This year the brand will be collaborating with the ever present Balmain (seriously is there anyone he's not collaborating with?) making it the first time that Victoria Secret teamed-up with a high end fashion house. The best part? This collaboration will be available for retail! So lots of bodycon, fringing and intricate corsets for the masses!

PINK

Gowns that is. One of the most prominent markers of the show are those pink gowns that will be worn backstage by the models, prior to the event. The sating robes are already sold online for £45.

LIVE PERFORMANCES

Victoria Secret has been one of those shows where you now the headliner is going to be top league. Former performers include Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift, Rihanna and Lady Gaga. Among the top contenders is Justin Bieber after he invited almost the entire VS clan to star in his latest video "2U". Selena Gomez is another name making the possible list as she has the VS show experience-plus the current VS roster is part of her entourage. As Zayn Malik, Gigi Hadid's steady boyfriend of a few years.

ROSTER

Speaking of the coveted VS spots on the catwalk, this year there will be plenty pf newcomers ae well a few household names. Expect to see Barbara Fialho, Leomie Anderson, Georgia Fowler and Vanessa Moody. As well as supermodel status names such as Gigi and Bella Hadid!

Head to our gallery for a few Victoria Secret show moments, and shop the looks from our exclusive edit below!

It's been another great Fashion month and now with PFW drawing the curtain we can round up the best moments and predict the trends that will inform the next Spring/ Summer season!

OVERALL TONE: GLAMOUR MEETS GLITTER!

We've seen a shift from blunt norm core to glitz and frivolity and after fashion month it's evident that this trend is here to stay. Designers want to celebrate the joy of life during darker times. Dries van Noten dedicated her collection to "The Optimist", who knows how to break the rules. The sneaker gave way to its more glamorous version of the Manolo - as a nod both to the glitz and glam but also to the Carrie Bradshaw look that defined the early 00's resurgence that we're experiencing now. We also saw puffed hemline dresses at Saint Laurent, as director Anthony Vaccarello paid a tribute to Pierre Berge, Yves Saint Lauren't long time business and life partner. The end result was a beautiful show of feathers, frills, shimmer and satin. Alessandro Del' Acqua's creations emphasized on big satin separates and glittery dresses full of bold patterns and colours. At Maison Margiela, John Galliano's version of glitz was crystals, feathers and mirror embellishments on coats and dresses. Makes you want to party no matter what.

PANTSUITS AT CELINE

Tennis Club de Paris: Phoebe Philo showcases a stunning collection at a giant-tent bubble structure while Mary J. Blige's rendition of "You're All I Need", blasted through the speakers. The runway was flocked with extra wearable garments for example oversized suits with large trench coats reminiscent of an 80's power businesswoman. The colour palette was equally 80s scrumptious meaning pistachio pastel pink and fair yellow. Another element introduced by CELINE was extreme fringing on the hem of flapper-style dresses. When it came to accessories the theme was volume: oversize totes, balloon like clutches, big gold buckle belts, and chunky white lace oxfords.

HELEN MIRREN & JANE FONDA at L'Oreal x Balmain

The location was Paris Champs de Elysees and the occasion was the L' Oreal x Balmain fall 2017 collaboration. The show starred an array of stunning models like Doutzeb Kroues and Liya Kebede and two movie icons Helen Mirren and Jane Fonda. Mirren was dresses in a suit a la garconne while whipping her cane around with prolific elegance and confidence. Jane Fonda on the other hand, threw peace signs and really owned the long runway. A true inspiration seeing two ladies well into their 70s (Jane Fonda turns 80 at the end of 2017) strutting their stuff with pride.

VIRGIL ABLOH RECREATES ICONIC DIANA SUITS

More specifically, Abloh took the people's princess most wearable looks as an inspiration board just four weeks after the 20th anniversary of her death. The challenge was to re-invent those items without sacrifising them and coming up with a collection that would be in line with the current fashion climate. The result was briliiantly made tartan suits, graphic prints, prim coctail suits, polished whites, polka dot suits, and pastel coloured numbers.
