This time of the year is perfect for purchasing a few items to revamp your space. Do away with anything that doesn't work and elevate your little haven with new items that represent your style. Sure, some of us might live in small apartments but aesthetics shouldn't be influenced by that.

So how can you quickly elevate your home decor without breaking the bank?

The rug

Opt for a cool snuggly rug. It will give your room a sense of your style in an instant and warm up a space too…

A marble table

Oh yes, that fabulous material has been the perfect sidekick to the flat lay since the beginning of the year. Aside from Insta snapshots, a marble  table is tough, practical and looks amazing IRL.

The throw

Go for a colourful throw to infuse your space with a little hygge and showcase your character with textures, patterns and color.

Flower power

True interiors magic lies in fresh flowers. Just ask Pandora Sykes and Leandra Medine.

Sheets and linen

Go for a blush pink or violet shade for a relaxed feminine vibe, or brighten the space with fresh white sheets and pillowcases.

The full-length mirror

Well, how would you take those ootd's without a mirror? Opt for a unique shape like a squiggle for a pinch of extra character.

Finally, the wait is over. After months of excitement, this Saturday May 19, the most talked about couple of the year will tie the knot at St George's Chapel in the grounds of Windsor Castle. As far as we know, they've chosen a carriage and arranged luxurious catering for 600 guests including Sir Elton John and the Spice Girls. Meghan Markle will have no adult bridesmaids as she's unable to choose between her friends and will instead be surrounded page boys, bridesmaids and flower girls.

However, just like the rest of the world, what the team at SHOPCADE is mostly excited about is the dress. All bets are off when it comes to the designer though Ralph & Russo and Erdem are among the rumoured but whoever it is, the designer will go down in history.

Our Editors have a few ideas for the perfect royal wedding guest outfit, so you can join in on the fun, even if your invite got lost in the mail.

A polka dot dress would definitely make the cut, it's classic and elegant. Pair it with strappy heels and a simple clutch for a play-it-safe look. Next up, an edgier look with flats and a long-sleeved silk dress. And finally, a statement look by way of a Victorian-inspired ruffled top with flattering pants and mules. Chic and royal-wedding ready.

Wedding season is here, but if you’re not quite ready to give Meghan and Harry a run for their money – and let’s face it, who can afford to cater for 600 people? – you might want to consider a few shortcuts. We caught up with Fern Godfrey, Editor of the UK’s biggest Wedding blog Rock My Wedding, to discover her tips for planning your dream day on a budget…

What do you love most about being the Editor of Rock My Wedding? Rock My Wedding was founded by Charlotte O’Shea in 2009, when she was planning her own wedding, it’s grown hugely since then and we’re now a team of 10. I’ve been Editor at Rock My Wedding since 2015 and I absolutely love my job.

We get to share people’s love stories every single day, work with beautiful flowers and dresses, and champion incredible wedding suppliers with our directory, The List. The best bit is seeing the wedding photographs of brides who have read RMW religiously while planning their own weddings –- it’s such a great feeling.

What do you find are the most popular wedding themes?

We feature a lot of rustic luxe weddings -– industrial and agricultural buildings with lots of exposed brick and lofty beams, filled with flowers and candles. This theme works beautifully for weddings across Europe as we have so many incredible historic and working buildings to use. The weather in the UK doesn’t always allow for the amazing outdoor celebrations we feature from France, Italy and Spain, but all of the weddings we blog are amazing in their own unique way.

How can one plan a beautiful wedding on a budget?

If you want to save money while planning your big day, then the key thing is decide on what is important to you as a couple. If you chose the areas you’re going to spend on, then you can try to save on the others.

Do you really need wedding favours? Can you serve canapés as a starter and wedding cake as your dessert? Have you considered a Spotify play list rather than a band? Do you really need a pair of designer shoes? If flowers aren’t important to you, then use local foliage and seasonal blooms. The one thing we’d always recommend spending on is professional photographs and a film – these things will allow you to remember your big day forever and so they are the most important part.

Can you share any useful DIY tips?

We’ve created a couple of floral DIY’s for Rock My Wedding readers. The first is a chair back arrangement to take your seating to the next level. The other is for a classic flower crown – these are very popular with boho bridesmaids, especially at cool, rustic weddings out in the countryside, but you can use any kind of flower to achieve the look and feel you want. There are plenty of examples on the Rock My Wedding Instagram feed.

As an expert, what would you pack for a destination wedding?

As a wedding guest? A floral maxi dress, a wide brimmed hat and some sunglasses. As the bride? A soft and flowing gown, some pretty sandals and lots of Bobbi Brown Sheer Finish Pressed Powder.

Shop Fern’s edit for the perfect pieces to make your day special, whatever your budget and wherever you’re heading to tie the knot…

Having mother day just around the corner, I find this image of Sarah Jessica Parker with her daughters really lovely.  SJP looks so put together and chic as always with that gorgeous sheer dress and updo. And the girls with those flower dresses that just scream spring are extremely cute.  Love a good mother and daughter fashion look.  photo credit: @whowhatwear on twitter  #outfit #spring #look #mothersday

Now that spring is here, we’re seeing some next level nail art on our feeds and in the street. From pressed flower manis to pops of pastel colour, the new season has inspired beauty buffs to take their nail game to new heights.

While some prefer to let a professional technician work their magic, there are so many easy ways to achieve a salon-perfect mani at home. We’ve looked into some of the best spring nail looks and put together an affordable edit of the tools you need to give your nails a spring spruce up.

Florals are an obvious trend for spring but floral nails? That’s taking the trend seriously. Use flecks of glitter and pastel polishes to create nail art inspired by your favourite blooms. Or, cheat and opt for press-on nails, wraps and stickers to get the look.

Love to shine? Pearly tones and bright glitters are the way forward. Loved by Cara Delevigne for a hint off-duty chic, glitter nail polish is always a winner in our book. Swap your winter tones for bright pinks, peaches, silver and rose gold.

Shop the edit below and create nail art to rival your favourite beauty bloggers this spring…

I'm sorry if you're sick of floral prints. But now flowers have moved from clothes to accessories. As statement jewellery is becoming more and more popular flower necklaces and earrings are also becoming huge. Flower power is still strong and maybe even stronger than ever! #floral #flower #flowerpower #trend #statement #accessories #jewellery

I think that my favorite accessories for Coachella are definitely flower headbands.  I love the boho vibe that they have and you suddenly feel like a hot fairy when you wear them. They even good for other festivities like a Halloween costume, very multi-purpose.  Photo Credit: @laurDIY on twitter  #fashion #coachella  #festivalhair #festivalstyle

Erdem was one of the most talked about designers this year after his H&M collaboration. The designer is not stopping and has a new collaboration with 24 Sevres. Inspired by the British Ballet Dancer Margot Fonteyn, the designer continues to paint the world in florals. Reminding us of the walls of the Buckingham Palace this capsule collection is an ode to the tea times with the royals! #erdem #capsule #capsulecollection #florals #flower #retro #vintage #fashion

The floral prints begin to have a significant role in the streets. They do it through dresses, skirts and flashy trousers also because of their colour. Purple, green and yellow appears to be the most popular this season.Credits: Pinterest
