According to Vogue: “Denmark is like the Italy of Scandinavia”, its the new Milan and capital of Scandi chic. With labels such as Ganni, Stine Goya, By Malene Birger and Saks Potts rising up in the fashion scene, the Scandinavian brands are taking the catwalk by storm.

On the streets, the Copenhagen girl is the new Parisian: a girl that exudes effortless and laid-back style. She cycles to work, so practicality is key, wearing beautiful long dresses with flats or ankle boots. These girls can be seen in the streets of Copenhagen, photographed by renowned street style photographers. Among them are famous bloggers Pernille Teisbaeck and Funda Christophersen.

To get the Copenhagen-chic look, pair some luxury items with more laid-back t-shirts or jeans to dress them down. Do wear long leave printed maxi dresses, denim jackets, checks, midi wrap dresses and sling-back shoes. There is an element of fun in the Copenhagen style, with lots of print and colour so don’t take it too seriously, just throw on what you enjoy and feel comfortable!

It seems as if every summer there's one print that dominates the high street and ends up decorating anything from basic tees, to pool floaties and iPhone cases. Last year it was all about palm trees (which by the way are still going strong). We've also witnesses bananas, pineapples, flamingos, even burgers.

This year the print of choice is cacti. This specific motif is seasonally perfect and it looks great with most summer attire.

Pair a cactus print top with a pair of high-waisted distressed jean shorts or wide legged jeans. Opt for a cool denim bandeau top and pair it with a maxi cactus print skirt, or a festival perfect cacti print kimono.

The white sneaker is back and better than before. The good thing is that there is a huge offering of looks and variations to cover all the different tastes. A staple in many men's wardrobe allows you to dress them down for a casual look or even sport them with a suit.

SMART CASUAL

One of the freshest ways to do smart casual is to don white sneakers with chinos. Just ask Steve McQueen about this inherently preppy look that can easily transition to many different occasions.

URBAN CASUAL

White sneakers can really look amazing with any piece of clothing but there's something about sporting them with jeans in a dark denim wash. Just think of them as the formal shoe alternative. Pair them with a plain white tee, and a hoodie or even a blazer and you're ready for pints after work.

WHITE SNEAKERS WITH A SUIT

If you want to spice up your business outfit then you can definitely wear them with a grey suit. You can try to merge them without looking out of place. The key is to opt for a lighter shade like grey tones, camel. light brown or lilac if you're bold. A truly great way to give an oomph to your regular suit and tie.

WHITE SNEAKERS WITH SHORTS

Shorts are undoubtedly more casual than other types of clothing and though they're great for summer they lack some formality in certain occasions. The white sneaker amps up the shorts while at the same time staying in keeping with the casual tone of the entire outfit. Pair it with your favourite tee, baseball cap, a cool sports watch your sunnies, and you're ready to go!

You know you’re blooming in pure optimism when head-to-toe yellow is not only encouraged but considered one of the best selling trends for this summer. The great news is that yellow miraculously compliments tanned skin and extremely fair tones as well. Let's just take a moment to think of the big 'yellow' moments of this year. From Beyonce's infamous Cavalli (when she's Lemonading, of course) Emma Stone in La La Land or Emma Watson in Beauty and the Beast. But yellow is not only a big Hollywood hit (although it does remind us of gold, so Oscars and Golden Globes). The shade featured on the S/S 17 runways at Acne Studios, Chloé, Mulberry and Jil Sander. It's also very popular day wear. Let's look at the key ways to wear yellow this summer!

Yellow Romantic

If you want to emulate the ultimate European summer day outfit, look no further than the mustard yellow day dress. It is elegant and comfortable enough to walk around and discover the city. Its perfect companion is a straw basket bag and a pair of sleek and comfy mules. Finish the look with a pair of oversized sunnies for the ultimate Italian actress goes incognito look.

Yellow Blend

For the yellow sceptic, we have a great solution. Opt for the biggest trend, yellow wide legged pants, and style them with a muted colour palette top if you want to ease into the yellow trend (white, black. eggshell). If you're feeling bolder tie in the yellow with a completely unexpected and oh-so-optimistic colour like ciel blue (check Leandra Medine's version in the gallery) or a bright purple or fuchsia. Finish your look with a similar colour high heel sandal and an uber cool mini clutch.

Yellow Gingham

Why do one trend this summer when you can have two? The romanticism of the gingham pattern beautifully pairs with the pure zest for life of the yellow and the two can create some super cool outfits. From an off the shoulder top, mini summer dress, a scarf. bag or even a little blazer. Pair them with white denim jeans, sandals, oval sunnies and a basket bag. Your summer day outfit is ready.

Vintage Yellow Glam

There's an undeniable power in yellow dresses it's not by chance that most stars opt for this colour when posing on the red carpet. Who can forget Rene Zellweger in 2001 Oscars, wearing vintage Jean Desses, Michelle Williams in that gorgeous ruffle gown by Vera Wang in 2006 or Alicia Vikander's custom made Louis Vuitton at last years Oscars? Try a maxi yellow slip dress with tousled hair red lip and gold accessories. Pair the dress with high heels and a chic clutch for the perfect summer going out look.

It seems as if since the beginning of time a magic fairy godmother awarded all French women with effortless style and elegance. From 60's Brigitte Bardot to Vanessa Paradis and Jeanne Damas there's no denying that Parisian chic is very specific yet unattainable. But what does that mean for the rest of us? We here at Shopcade have aimed to dissect the authentic French style and follow a few simple rules to nail it this summer.

Beauty & Hair

The first rule of the School of French style is that there simply are no general rules. Developing your individual style is part of the process. This process never fails to involve mineral toning water, eye cream and a great SPF cream. A thorough beauty routine with quality products makes all the difference for French women as they wear minimal make up. "I only wear red lipstick everyday, "said Jeanne Damas in a recent interview for Man Repeller. French girls emphasize on taking care of their skin instead of covering it up with endless layers of make up. They wear little foundation, use hair spray for a sexy out of bed look and have a signature scent!

Show off your Pins

Baring your legs as much as possible like French style blogger Camille Charriére is another Parisian staple. Sport your mini summer dresses, vinyl red skirts, LBDs or uber chic culottes which are basically very cool and elegant ways to nail French chic.

Where Did You Get That Shirt?

All Parisian girls own a great white shirt in their wardrobe as it's ultimately versatile and oh so chic. You can literally pair it with anything that may hang in your wardrobe: from jean bell bottoms to a pencil skirt, a pair of denim shorts, with smart trousers at the office even worn loosely over your swimsuit at the beach. Go for a white crisp shirt fitted or oversized and try a Breton design - another French girl favourite.

Quality outerwear

Even though we're in July we can recognise a quality outerwear item in all seasons. From a boxy blazer, to an elongating raincoat or a simple rock n roll biker jacket the options are endless.. Take cues from French chic and really look which outerwear items will look best with your wardrobe essentials.

Comfy flats

Especially for daytime, comfort is key to the laissez-faire nonchalant Parisian look. So invest in ballet flats, chic sandals, espadrilles and white trainers to elevate your everyday look. They can really romanticise an outfit instantly.

Accessories

When it comes to accessories they should always include a great hat, basket bag, earrings, and a quality watch. Less is definetely more so "Before you leave the house, take a look in the mirror, and take one thing off", as the mother of Parisian chic Coco Chanel used to say.

Style icons

Brigitte Bardot, Jane Birkin, Vanessa Paradis and Clemence Poesy are among many of the greats. For new sources of inspiration, follow Parisian blogger Camille Charrière, Jeanne Damas, Camille Rowe, Lily Rose Depp and Louise Follain on Instagram.

Underwear is not supposed to be seen - but what if their bright hues, dainty details and wonderfully embroidery demand that we show it off? That's when the bralette replaces common underwear and becomes a piece of everyday wardrobe that can instantly give character to an outfit. It would be a shame to wear a bralette underneath a sweater - instead, it can be the main point of the entire outfit. You can wear it over your t-shirt, underneath a mesh top, or layer it in unexpected ways. Read on to find out how you can rock your bralette this summer, and which ever way you choose you'll definitely make a statement!

AT THE OFFICE

If you're looking for a way to spice up your everyday power suit, try a bralette. Opt for a pink suit and pair it with a burgundy bralette, that you can wear underneath. Finish the look off with a pair of sleek mules and a leather drawstring bag. The bralette should peak from the suit just enough so you don't feel exposed.

CASUAL SMART

For a smart casual occasion try wearing the bralette underneath an embroidered top. Pair it with straight leg smart pants, a metallic clutch and match the colour of your heels to the top. You're now ready for any summer gala!

SUMMER FESTIVAL

Summer festivals are the go-to place this season and bralette is the number one item to wear. Wear it plain with your black denim shorts and a kimono or wear it over your an old band tee. Finish your look with a black straw floppy hat, round frame sunnies, black leather boots and a floral cross body chain bag that ties in beautifully with the kimono. Rock on!

WEEKEND GETAWAY

If you're feeling bold turn the tables around on your classic button up shirt by wearing a bralette over it. Pair it with a skirt, comfy sliders, an oversized bag and oval sunnies and you're ready for your weekend getaway!

One of the things we love about summer vacation is the laissez-faire attitude of wardrobe etiquette. Assuming that you are travelling to an exotic location, island life demands a nonchalance that includes little hair upkeep, facilitated wardrobe transitions and a very basic makeup routine. Because here at Shopcade we want to make our lives easier we thought of four very simple ways to translate your beach outfit into your night glam bar look with little or no trips back to the hotel. Just add a few items in your beach bag and you're ready to rock this vacation from dawn till next dawn.

90's Baywatch Babe

In order to do the 90s justice, and to commemorate the 2017 film, try a red one piece Baywatch inspired bathing suit, top it off with a baseball cap, white trainers and deconstructed jean shorts. For night time you'll only need a mesh top and a belt to wear on top of your uber cool beach outfit.

70's Bond Girl

For the ultimate 70's Charlie's Angels look, go for a string two piece at the beach. When it's time to leave the beach leave the top of the swimsuit on like a bralette, add a pair of wide legged denim trousers, platforms and cover your beach hair with a very cool printed scarf tied carefully like a headband.

Swinging 60's

Step into the 60's with a floral two piece swim suit, a super short baby doll dress, platforms and some sunnies. When it's time to hit the bar you'll only need to belt your baby doll, add a pop of color on your lips and cheeks and add a few accessories to tie the look together!

50's Pin Up

Go for a fifties revival by pairing a polka dot one piece, Lolita sunglasses, beach bag and platforms. As soon as the sun sets and you start sipping on mojitos, add a cool denim mini over your one piece, and accessorise with a funky choker and switch the beach bag for a cool cross body chain mini.
