Denim has historically been one of the most flattering fabrics for both men and women. Its unique versatility factor puts it front and centre for the high street and the high end. The level of creativity for 2018 is uncompromising and can range from a pile of patches acting as jeans to exaggerated forms that can be styled in completely unexpected ways. Look out for lots of cutouts, embroidery, patches and variety in hemlines in our top picks below!

CUTOUTS
#262626">
#262626">Take your cues from Kendall Jenner by styling a cut-out midi denim skirt with a silk spaghetti strap top. Finish the look with a vintage pair of 90s inspired sunnies and an equally grungy pair of mules for an edgier outfit.

MODEL OFF DUTY JEANS
#262626">
#262626">Super tight skinny jeans have morphed into straight cut styles that are comfier and define the silhouette without being constraining. Gigi Hadid and sister Bella were spotted sporting a more laid-back option: layers of denim. To achieve Gigi’s London Fashion Week off-duty look, the model layered chambray and yellow plaid button-downs with a long, frayed denim vest, then stunned with white and light blue layered, cropped jeans.

STEP HEM

If you really want to nail the 2018 denim look then look no further than the step hem, which shows no signs of stopping since last season. You can thank Vetements for the much needed innovative twist! #262626">If you don't have the Vetements budget, why don't you DIY and give one of your pairs a makeover by staggering the edges.Look below for other affordable options. The great thing about the step hem is that you can style it as you please while showing off your shoe.

TRIPLE DENIM

Canadian tuxedo has many retro connotations that range #262626">from Dolly Parton to Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears circa 2001.Nowadays you can triple or quadruple your denim by wearing contrasting shades or denim thickness. Play with proportions and juxtaposing materials for the most impressive results.

FRINGING

For the past three years, tassels and fringes have been put front and centre everywhere from Zara to Anthropologie, without any signs of abandoning the limelight. #262626">The trend's evolved so you don't have to stick to your frayed jeans necessarily. Pick up a fringed mini skirt with fringes, a distressed denim jacket or opt for a pair of uber cool denim sandals finished with tassels. One of our favourites is a distressed denim blouse with a frayed hem courtesy of Marques’ Almeida.

EMBROIDERED

The obvious option here is springtime florals. From rock n roll roses to funky pineapples even quotes make for a super stylish way to decorate your favourite pair of jeans this summer.

PATCHWORK

You can try clashing similar blue tonal panels or play with different sizing by assembling large squares with minuscule patches on the jeans taking cues from Eva Chen and Kendall Jenner. Experiment with positioning pockets in unexpected places or colours. If DIY is not your calling, don't worry. Just browse through our selected edit of denim items and shop your favourite items now!

Denim has historically been one of the most flattering fabrics for both men and women. It's also surprisingly versatile, adored by the high street and the high end alike. This season we are seeing more and more denim worn on top rather than just on the bottom. Infused with a touch of Americana and 70's western films, the denim shearling is having a serious moment! For SS18 denim is super playful unexpected and comfortable. This means no boring denim jackets but, lots of cutouts, embroidery, and patches.

The cool thing about shearling is that it's your perfect transition weather jacket. It's still denim - in other words, meant for the upcoming Spring season but is embellished with touches or shearling lining for those colder nights in the city. It's also super versatile! You do a double denim look, pair it with a romantic dress for a first date, with tights and sneakers for a weekend getaway, or simply with your khaki shorts and boots for a cool day look alternative!

Check our exclusive edit of our favourite denim shearling jackets on the market right now!

Denim has historically been one of the most flattering fabrics for both men and women. It's also surprisingly versatile, adored by the high street and the high end alike. So it came as no surprise that for AW18 denim is super playful unexpected and comfortable. This means no skinny jeans in the horizon, lots of cutouts, embroidery, patches and variety in hemlines. Here are our top picks!

CUTOUTS

Take cues from Kendall Jenner and sport a sexy midi denim skirt with cutouts and style it with a silk spaghetti strapped top with detailing. Finish the look with a vintage pair of 90s inspired sunnies and an equally grungy pair of mules for an extra chic look.

MODEL OFF DUTY JEANS

The days of skinny jeans are thankfully pretty much over for our figures and most of all for optimum blood circulation. Yes, those things were tight. Bella Hadid, Gigi and the entire bunch are sporting a much more comfy solution: boyfriend jeans. For example, Bella opted for a red-hot appeal to a dated Canadian tuxedo while Kendall (going for denim again) wore a sheer bodysuit under a dark wash pant and jacket. Frederikke Sofie went for a polished jumpsuit and layered it on a duster jacket while Imaan Hammam went old school by pairing her baggy overalls with a plaid top.

STEP HEM

If you really want to nail the 2018 denim look then look no further than the step hem. You can thank French designers Vetements for the much needed innovative twist! If you don't have the Vetements budget why not try a little DIY and give them a makeover with staggered edges. Look below for other affordable options. The great thing about the step hem is that you can style it as you please, no rules apply here!

DOUBLE DENIM

Canadian tuxedo has many retro connotations that range from Woodstock, to Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears circa 2001, to Dolly Parton circa forever. But even if the trend seems dated, kitsch or unflattering it actually completely depends on styling. You can go safe, by throwing a chambray shift over your denim dress, instead of going head to toe dungarees and jacket. Try sporting a deconstructed denim shirt over your denim skirt shorts or trousers and it will instantly give a modern look to your outfit.

FRINGING

For the past 3 years, tassels and fringes have been put front and centre and they don't show any signs of abandoning the limelight. The great news about a trend sticking around for more than a few seasons is that it's been given a chance to evolve. So you don't have to stick to your frayed hem jeans, necessarily. Pick up a mini skirt with fringes, a flawless denim jacket or opt for a pair of uber cool denim sandals finished with tassels. One of our favourites is a distressed denim blouse with a frayed hem courtesy of Marcus Almeida. Thank you!

EMBROIDERED

This is the year to go for embroidered. The obvious option here is springtime florals but don't let that hinder you. From rock n roll roses, to funky pineapples even quotes make for a super stylish way to decorate your favourite pair of jeans this summer.

PATCHWORK

If you want to play with dimension design and personality adding uber cool patches is the denim path for you! You can try clashing similar blue tonal panels or play with different sizing by assembling large squares with minuscule patches on the jeans. Experiment with positioning pockets in unexpected places or colours. If DIY is not your calling don't worry! Just browse through our selected edit of denim items and shop your favourite items now!

With only ten days away from the New Year it's time to say goodbye not only to 2017 but to all the fashion trends we loved and welcome 2018 with open arms. Last year saw the resurgence of many brands, the return of logomania, a bloom of mid-tier designer brands, sparkles, loungewear as daywear, vinyl, reds, and who can forget millennial pink? Now a little wiser we take a look at the trends you'll want to invest for next year!

NEW TRENCHES

Take cues from Loewe SS18 and invest in a trench coat that is a bit different than your classic version. It may feature cutouts, fringing or even alternative colouring to your regular camel hues.

FRINGES ALL AROUND

Speaking of fringing, this is another trend borrowed from previous seasons that is still going strong for 2018. Get inspired by Acne Studios, Diane Von Furstenberg, Calvin Klein and Elie Saab.

CHECK, PLEASE

Yes, the check trend is not going anywhere soon, but like all things, it's growing and getting better. This year, add a few unexpected colours to your usual grey palette and don't hesitate to experiment with textures.

WHITE OUT

Probably influenced by menswear one of the biggest trends for next year will be the all-white-outfit. Think of Jennifer Lopez's outfit in the maid or a simple white blazer and trousers, as an alternative business attire. This is the perfect alternative to 2017's colour suiting.

ANIMAL LOVE

So 2017 saw a boom in animal print with leopard print taking centre stage and brushing off any previous trashy connotations. This year, the animal print expands from leopard print to include snakeskin, animal print patches and it's not only for your shoes and bags but also for trousers or jackets. Have a look at our gallery for more inspiration and shop your favourite styles from our exclusive edit below.

Denim has historically been one of the most flattering fabrics for both men and women. It's also surprisingly versatile, adored by the high street and the high-end alike. So it comes as no surprise that for SS17, denim is refreshingly playful, eclectic and comfortable. This means no skinny jeans on the horizon, but a variety of cutouts, embroidery, patches and hemlines instead. Denim is one of the classic symbols of the American West, representing a culture and a history of style. That's precisely why this Black Friday, Saks, the most prominent department store in the US, is offering a massive deal on denim!

Take cues from Kendall Jenner and sport a sexy denim midi skirt with cutouts, styling it with a silk spaghetti strapped top with exquisite detailing. Finish the look with a vintage pair of 90s-inspired sunnies and a grungy pair of mules for an extra chic summer look. The days of skinny jeans are *thankfully* over, so you can finally give your self-conscious minds a break and stop worrying whether or not your pair of jeans is cutting off your blood flow.

Bella Hadid, Gigi and the entire bunch are sporting a cooler and comfier solution, the boyfriend jeans. Bella opted for a red-hot appeal to a dated Canadian tuxedo, while Kendall (going for denim again) wore a sheer bodysuit under a dark wash pant and jacket. Frederikke Sofie went for a polished jumpsuit and layered it on a duster jacket, while Imaan Hammam went old school by pairing her baggy overalls with a plaid top. If you really want to nail the 2017 denim look, then look no further than the step hem.

Reverse layering is everywhere these days. The idea is that instead of layering heavier pieces to cover light pieces, you can let the layers show by wearing lighter pieces on top of heavier pieces. For instance, wearing a lacy cami on top of a button down shirt to add an extra pop of dimension. If you wanna learn how to master this look, then keep on reading!

a) Combine different aesthetics: Like the example above, you can totally mix different vibes to create a fresh and funky look. A button down is a tried and tested classic, but if paired with a lacy cami on top, it will provide just a little bit of boudoir to your look. You have to try it!

b) Play with length: The statement sleeve is everything this season, so why not make that your own! Wear a shorter sleeved bomber jacket on top of a full sleeved top for a warm and comfy outfit that's still on fleet!

c) Make friends with colour: With regular layering, the topmost piece of clothing is usually the one you would expect to shine the most. But with reverse layering, you don't have to worry about that. So go on, wear those tops with long armpits or a cutouts with bright and colourful innerwear! And if you're feeling extra daring, try a sheer top with a neon coloured bra. Nothing more empowering than flaunting yourself sometimes!

Selena Gomez looks fabulous on the cover of the Marie Claire June issue.

The actress goes glamorous in feathers, gowns, and sheer elbow-length gloves. The whole shoot is definitely worth a look, but the most wearable outfit of hers is too cute not to copy!

In this snap, Selena wears a dark-red flared dress with side cutouts and strappy embellishments. Tasseled red cord belts, body chains, and necklaces will help you reach that layered look. Finish with flats or pumps, and silver jewelry.

If you know anything about Taylor Swift, you know that the American pop star is a sweetheart, and loves to dress the part. Tay usually rocks her skater skirts, crop tops, and pastel sweaters. But at the Met Gala, she went for something totally different.

Taylor was one of the best-dressed celebs at the star-studded night, in a daring metallic snakeskin dress with side cutouts, black lace-up ribbon heels, and black lipstick. Wear this look as an alternative to occasion wear!

Prom will be here faster than you think and one of the best parts about the big event is dress shopping. Some girls get their dresses way in advance but some wait down to the last minute to see their options.

When choosing your Prom dress, color is a good place to start, What color looks best on your skin tone, with your eye color or what theme you’d like to dress in for the occasion. If you’re not into all that or you’re stuck, black is ALWAYS  a good choice.

From maxi to mini, cutouts to tube tops, all these dresses are perfect for your prom. Black is sleek, elegant and always a hit so when in doubt, black it out. The best thing about black (or one color in general) is you can play around with your shoes and accessories to add a pop of color or style, which I’ve also included in this list.

Keeping your dress to one color gives you room to use your creativity with your look! It's time to stun at prom night with our bold black dresses below!
