Warmer weather, brighter days and longer nights mean after-work drinks and dinners are now high on the agenda. There’s nothing quite like enjoying a little afternoon sun on a Friday after a long week at work.

Regrettably, going from boardroom to bar can pose a number of outfit-related conundrums, but don’t fret. We’ve put together a few tips and a helpful edit to ensure you rock your way through Friday and into the weekend via your favourite haunts in style.

Colour pop

A little colour never hurt anybody and if you’re planning on heading out after work, a statement flash of colour or print works a charm. Elevate your office-ready look with a colourful jacket, printed skirt, bright shoes or some next-level statement earrings in pink, neon yellow or coral orange.

Layer up

You won’t be able to get away with a bralette and high-waisted shorts in your daily meetings – that goes without saying – however, you can rock an off-duty summer look at work if you opt for light layers. Team a leather mini with block-heeled sandals and a lacy cami, then layer a smart shirt or cool tee, add pared-down accessories and you’re good to go.

Well heeled

Desk to dark shoes are a great investment. A classic court is always office appropriate so don’t be afraid to don those Louboutins. If it’s a warm day, opt for a heeled sandal or a platform for a more low-key approach.

Accessorise

A few statement accessories can transform any outfit. Lend your pared-down look a little flair with oversized earrings, a luxe designer bag, gold-toned bangles and delicate layered necklaces to offset your décolletage.

Sometimes you don't need an extravagant accessory to make your look pop. Often, all it takes is the right shade of lipstick. If you're feeling a bit stuck, elevating your make up routine can make for the perfect mood boost.

Bright hues have a fantastic statement effect, so you can leave it up to the lip to do the talking while keeping the rest of your make up pared down.

Choose from a bold red lip for a classic look or go for coral-orange, lavender or a brighter shade of pink, according to your mood and complexion. Red and purple shades will give you a head-turning result, while the lighter hues will catch the eye in a more subtle fashion.

For maximum effect, team a primer concealer and light blush in the shade close to that of your lipstick. Stay away from thick eyeliners and instead opt for a sweep of mascara and a great eyebrow pencil for a fresh-faced finish.

It seems as if the embroidery trend has been the focal point of many designer shows for the past last seasons. From Gucci to Kenzo, Dior, and Coach they have provided us with impressive offerings of embroidered pieces that we can finally find now on the high street! The designs range from roses, coral snakes, rockets and tigers designers are really using their imagination and taking us into their embroidered fantasy worlds.

Sheer is another strong trend and partnered with embroidery makes for a really powerful look! Bodysuits, mesh t-shirts and bralettes are great pieces to wear for festivals and really make a statement. If you are more discrete in your style then go for something more modest like an embroidered tee, a handbag or shoes.

If the thought of piling on gives you an uneasy stomach, fear not. The art of layering has never looked better. Although it's an American tic, think the Olsen twins during the mid -noughties, being enclosed in layers of bohemian fabric and oversized coatigans, the Parisians have employed it with effortless ease too. Experimental layering is a dominant issue on the fashion agenda, especially when deciding on what to wear in chilly weather.

Take Paris Fashion Week for example. Fashion editors from across the globe (not only from the US) showcased their unique vision to nailing the layering craft. We've compiled a few of the best piling-on tricks we discovered on the streets of Paris you can try now.

TONAL

Try the tonal approach by opting for slightly differentiated hues of the same colour and wear it from head-to-toe. Throw in an unexpected colour like white or coral to juxtapose to the monochrome look.

ADD A ROLLNECK

Rollnecks have many charms being one of the best options for workwear and smart casual alike. Just take cues from Audrey Hepburn's fail-proof styling in 1957's Funny Face for more inspiration.  With your key item in place strategically create the rest of your outfit.

GO FOR COATIGAN

A knitted coatigan is your best bet when layering. Just throw it over some of the season's natural fabrics like linen, cotton and hemp and style it with bold and chunky accessories.

ADD SOME LEATHER

Layering offers a great opportunity to experiment with texture. Don't be afraid to wear your leather jacket under your main coat or trench in a samey colour.

DON'T FORGET THE PUFFER

Now might be the best time to invest in a slim quality puffer jacket. Wear it in the same colour just under your coat or trench. To avoid the same shade from top to bottom add a pop of colour in your accessories like a tangerine bag or mules.

We all know I am a sucker for anything pink. Wave a rose in front of me, a salmon, a coral, a blush and I'm weak at the knees. Both of these outfits get my heart racing. The first because I love the matching hue through the whole getup and the masculinity of the suit paired with feminine open-toed heels. The second is just wonderfully insane. The sequins are bold and clash in red with the pink and violet tones of the jacket and trousers. The striped top is totally random but somehow looks like it was meant to be in this hotchpotch of colour and texture. Image: Jonathan Daniel Pryce

With spring coming just around the corner, I got an eye for pastel and vibrant colours! So this coral skirt caught my attention immediately in this outfit. I love the bow and ruffle design it's just so girly and chic and the length it's perfect for sunny weathers. What pieces are a staple in your spring wardrobe? A little color blocking don't hurt nobody and i think yellow, is the most suitable color to match with others. As we see in this outfit, the mustard yellow coat pairs perfectly with the navy, light blue and gray tones in the sweater. And in my opinion, yellow also pair well with pink, coral and red. what's your favorite color blocking combo? Photo Credit: fashionista.com #trend #outfit #fashion #streetstyle #fall

Polished and yet natural looks, are the signature of makeup artist @hunngvango on instagram. I adore how in this makeup look for actress Olivia Munn, Vango focus the whole protagonism on face and lips. Creating a radiant and healthy looking skin with a cream highlighter, bronzer and the right amount of a coral-pink blush that is the star of the show. Then, the artist pairs the colour lip with the blush. Leaving eyes, with an almost bared look by using a little liner on lash line and what it looks like a couple of individual lashes. Who says everything is eyeshadow, you can be creative with blush too. Are you a blush lover? Photo Credit @hunngvango #makeup #beauty #celebs #trend #makeuplook #inspo

#Maybelline Global Makeup Artist, Erin Parson gave Model Gigi Hadid the famous bronzed goddess look with a twist. A sleek cat eye on the lid was pair with a magenta eyeshadow on the crease, to give the makeup a little bit of fun. On lips, Erin chose an electric orangy-red shade and then Gigi's complexion was bronzed and highlighted to the sky, with her new Jetsetter Palette in collab with Maybelline, dashing a touch of a coral blush into the cheeks to complete the look.
