Take cues from your favourite poolside buddy: the shoe of the Spring/ Summer that has emerged from the sports arena to take the fashion's main trend spot this season is the slide.

You can attribute this influx of extra comfy shoewear circa 2018 to Marni who opted to style it with frayed hems to beautifully compliment step hem pants and dresses. This pair would be perfect for a smart summer day look complete with a cold-shoulder blouse an oversized bag and a pair of oval sunnies.

If you're after a great alternative to sky-high stilettos, you can go with the sleek style of Lanvin, who took the vintage option way back to the Ancient times with a style that reminds us of Greek goddesses. You can team the extra sleek pair of slides with a Grecian spaghetti strap silk dress, a low bun, and accessorize with ethnic earrings and a bold red lip.

Of course, there are always our go-to slides that are innately sporty: Fila, Nike and all the other major sports footwear companies have produced an array of styles making it extra difficult for us to choose.

Sporty sliders are an excellent option for the beach/ and or poolside along with your swimsuit, caftan, floppy hat and beach bag or backpack. The inevitable 90s throwback of the sporty slider allows for experimentation. Add a mesh blouse over a sporty t-shirt and pair it with boyfriend jeans and a baseball cap. The world is your fashionable oyster!

Scroll down for our selected edit of the best sliders around this season!

We are all glued (and most people will admit- addicted) to our phones, whether we like it or not most of use are dependant on our devices. Email, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat or Instragram, we are constantly looking for a sense of gratification on social media. But why not try switching off now and again and trying some new hobbies.#000000"> Switch off and relax. Switching off from social media is a great way to relax stop our brains going into overdrive. Why not try things the old fashioned way and channel our energy into spending quality time with  friends and family, doing activities.

Meditation and relaxation can be a great way to really relax and spend time with your thoughts.Try a new hobby- there are plenty of new ways to enjoy time away from a screen. Madeline Shaw, the health and fitness author switched off from social media after having her first child to spend time with her newborn away from the pressures of posting. She found there were some great benefits and admitted she saved hours of time instead of wasting it searching through other peoples accounts. Pandora Sykes also switched off from the fans post fashion week to enjoy some relaxation after a hectic fashion month and quality time with her husband.#000000">

It's a challenge but try it for a day and see if you can resist the temptation- go for some meditation or treat yourself to your favourite activity! Here's what to do instead: Yoga, read a book, try a new sport, do something creative, go to the theatre, host a photo-free dinner party, its time to use our imaginations! Whether its for a day or weeks, go cold turkey and try switching off, its great for some headspace!

If you’re a bit lost in your wardrobe when spring finally comes around, know you’re not alone. Cold, warm, rain, sun… difficult to understand. At the end of the day, you put on layers, without knowing what you’re doing. Or worse, you get a cold.

But this era has come to an end. Here are the 6 transition pieces to bet on for an amazing spring.

The cardigan

The must-have of mid-season, the one we all have in our wardrobe but not the funniest to wear. Pick its oversized version, a bit thick, a bit boyfriend-like. Cinched, it is now a sexy must have.

The trench coat

easy, everyone knows it. Lighter than a coat, it protects you against rain and get you warmer with style. Perfect to warm up that little dress we’ve been dying to wear.

The military jacket

a bit like the trench, but more rock. This is a classic to wear with a jean or a printed dress, for a boho-chic style. With boots or thigh high boots, worn on bare legs, you’re ready to face the storm.

The culottes

Nor shorts or trousers, this is a transition piece by definition. We skip the tights of course, the idea being to finally show some leg. We put on a pair of mules (if the weather is nice), or sneakers, and here we go!

The mules

Here, again, we have a hybrid piece, so perfect for transition. Half-sandals, half-boots, mules are covering enough to keep your feet warm, but open enough for a more spring-like look.

The thigh-high boots

Feeling like a dress, but tired of wearing tights ? Thigh high boots are made for you. Careful, you’re gonna turn heads…

I don’t know why but this season fashion is making daily life utilities into clothes. First blankets, now quilted styles. Our duvets never looked so high fashion! Quilted skirts were impossible to not see in the runways for this season. Fashion world is totally gearing us up for the cold weather. First blankets now quilts, we’re definitely going to be warm for Winter 2018! #winter #duvet #quilt #fashion #trend #style #streetstyle

Fashion is prepared to keep us warm during the winter. Huge blankets ruled the runway in the past fashion month. Many designers adapted our cozy blankets into a fashion accessory. This new ‘must’ of fashion is my favourite, because nothing keeps me warm during cold weathers and this can potentially be my solution! #blanket #winter #autumn #fall #trend #streetstyle #style #fashion

As spring inches in day by day, daffodil by daffodil, the weather gets a little lighter and a little brighter. It’s an exciting relief from the oppressive cold of winter, but poses new problems for our wardrobes, as the fluctuating temperatures of this transitional period have us choosing outfits in the morning sunshine which by lunchtime are shivering, inappropriate messes under afternoon cloud. The answer to this issue, however, is simple: layering. Now I don’t just mean adding a chunky-knit jumper to a minidress, but layering at base level - so perhaps add a jersey turtleneck under that dress. Wearing a striped long-sleeve tee under a short-sleeved block colour or graphic tee (very in right now) ensures that you’re covered for rain or shine, and protects against those pesky random goosebumps. Styling like this even works for night-out looks, like blogger Megan Ellaby’s above, as mesh tees provide a slightly dressier alternative without causing overheating in crowded bars. Try a shimmery, high-neck mesh top under a loose, black cami, or a band tee for a grungier vibe. Day to night, winter to spring, you’re covered for all occasions and seasons with a layered tee. If you don't have any spring beautiful scarf, just look at my list, and choose one! The good weather is almost here, and you will need one amazing scarf. You can combine that with your favourite jacket, or trench coat, but it's so perfect with a biker jacket, too. These scarves make your daily outfit warmer and comfortable. You won't get cold, and your daily set will be classier. You can choose a floral one, or a colourful, or just a monochromatic scarf. Always pay attention to your clothes.
