Wow. We’re going to start by analysing Lawrence’s look at a photocall for her new thriller ‘Red Sparrow’ earlier this week objectively before we weigh in on the sexist row it provoked. Because we haven’t seen such a figure-flaunting, spotlight-stealing LBD since Liz Hurley’s vintage Versace safety pin dress in 1994; a point that’s been widely made by #10;http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-5412753/Jennifer-Lawrence-steals-style-Elizabeth-Hurley.html

And even though the Oscar winner’s dress is also by Versace doesn’t have the same punkish hardware, talk about bootylicious! Lawrence defines her hourglass figure and shows off all of her assets at once thanks to plunging neckline and thigh high slit confidently and shamelessly. Kudos to her for that. Accompanied by smoky eyes, a single gold bracelet, single strap heels and unexpectedly windswept hair, she looks amazing.

The look is problematic for some, however, because Lawrence’s showing an awful lot of skin for a windy winter’s day and her male co-stars were well-wrapped up in comparison. To them, the situation seems to reinforce sexist stereotypes the #TimesUp movement is trying to dispel, despite the dress being black. New Statesman’s deputy editor Helen Lewis tweeted “This is such a quietly depressing (and revealing) image… True equality mean either Jennifer Lawrence getting a coat, or Jeremy Irons having to pose for a photocell in assless chaps” which subsequently went viral. But Lawrence herself gave the best clapback in a lengthy Facebook statement where she asserted her right to wear whatever she wants. “This is not only utterly ridiculous, I am extremely offended. That Versace dress was fabulous, you think I'm going to cover that gorgeous dress up with a coat and a scarf?” Touché. A woman after our own hearts. We’re loving Lawrence’s body confidence at the moment as this outfit follows the incredible plunging metallic gown she wore at the London premiere.

Double winner Dua Lipa, Jorja Smith, Maya Jama and Kylie all looked amazing at last night's Brit Awards. But we're now totally on board with the feather trim trend after loving the white feather details of Holly Willoughby,  Rita Ora and Adwoa Aboah’s red carpet looks. Miles away from the feather boas you may have worn to your last 1920s fancy dress party; they function as a whimsical, decadent addition to any style you can think of, fluttering gorgeously with movement. Dress trims, on coat cuffs, flourishing on shoes and bags, even basic tank tops as Miuccia Prada has chicly proved with paintbox bright plumes. Consider them a welcome respite from faux fur as well, more unusual and way less likely to make you the target of a PETA protest (there isn’t the same furore over ostrich feathers).

Obviously Willoughby, Ora and Aboah showcased how to dress these feather trims up, alongside white rose tributes that picked up where The Grammys left off. Add minimal or understated accessories and go is the key styling tip to note, to allow the feathers to be the focal point. The same thing works for during the day as these fancy details will instantly elevate an otherwise ordinary look. We’d also recommend sticking to one plumed piece at a time unless you want to veer into costume territory.

Meghan Markle has been in the fashion watch for the past few months as expected. Whether it's her Burberry coat, her welly boots, beret hat or Strathbery bag it's no surprise those products will sell out as soon as she's snapped sporting them.

And while when it comes to her fashion sense her preference leans towards British designers, when it comes to make up she goes for Italian and Giorgio Armani to be exact. In an interview with Refinery 29, Lydia Sellers, Markle's make-up artist for two years before the Suits star moved to the UK revealed her affinity for Giorgio Armani's Luminous Silk Foundation.

In that interview, Sellers revealed that Markle was very "in the know" about beauty and she could instantly tell which products she liked and which she didn't. She was also a fan of a light foundation that would let her freckles shine through. One of the ways to achieve this is by blending it with your moisturiser for an even lighter effect that leaves the skin to breathe and glow.

This product is an all-round Bestseller with amazing reviews online! Get your perfect shade from our expert edit below and let your skin shine!#222222; background-color: transparent">

If you’ve found yourself sweating in your winter coat recently or soaked through after a sudden downpour, it may be time to get a raincoat. Not an umbrella that’s easily lost on the tube and stands no chance in gale force winds; plus they’re also kind of annoying to hold when wet and sans bag to stash it in. Indeed, these lightweight saviours may be better associated with festival style but they really come into their own at this time of year when it’s still cold but slightly too warm for heavy outerwear. As lovely and cuddly as faux fur is, it definitely isn’t waterproof and can shed coloured hair all over your all-black look.

These raincoats are thin, waterproof outer layers that sit on top of all of the others- statement knits, hoodies, thermals, even a leather jacket- to keep you dry rather than warm. And better yet, some of them can even fold into small bags that fit into your handbag. We see no reason not to wear a raincoat everywhere as we transition into Spring and how we’re doing it this season is outlined below.

One of the biggest trends that emerged from NYFW was tweed. Tweed is rough, naturally waterproof and woollen perfect for that country house attire. But it's much more than traditional countryside style staples, it has evolved into an item of everyday attire. Blended with long paisley dresses or chunky knits, tweed is your go-to item that combines British heritage and modern flair. The Harris Tweed coat by Adam Lippes referencing Scotland is having a major moment.

He crafted a series of beautiful grey tweed finished with an overlay of lace. It was tweed in general that made its way across New York Fashion Week. Alexander Wang utilised a blush pink teddy bear material. Raf Simons at  Calvin Klein focused on oversized dreary old man tweed coats worn over floor-skimming dresses.

The Olsen twins referenced a school-girl look cut in long pleated skirts and matching long jackets. Tweed is not meant solely for the Autumn/ Winter period.

The tweed jacket is the perfect transitional piece for Spring. The season that bridges the gap between two temperatures presents some sartorial challenges especially when it comes to outerwear.

Pair your tweed jacket with equally adept to traditional weather clothing such as a leather skirt, leather boots, or a cardigan knit. Wear your tweed coat with a long flowy dress and a pair of boots. The breathable material allows you to stay as warm or breezy as you like according to the weather's tantrums.

Finally, sport your tweed trousers with a cropped top and a leather jacket to keep the warm/ chilly equilibrium to the desired status. Are you ready to incorporate tweed into your everyday attire?

You've seen them on Kaia Gerber, the Hadid sisters can't get enough. It’s the ultimate winter staple and comeback item from the 90’s the era of grunge and tea dresses. It’s the easy way to toughen up any girly outfit and infuse it with some much-needed edge. Even before the Chicago grunge era of Nirvana and Courtney Love combat boots such as Dr. Martens, were causing head waves across the country with the punk rock of movement in all its vinyl, PVC and fishnet glory.

For 2018, the vibe is muted and nuanced. Although we may see lots of touches from the previously mentioned punk trends, the styling now has an amazing way of looking elegant and put together though maintaining that tough, rocker edge.

Combat boots are also surprisingly complimentary to all shapes and sizes. They come with that tiny rubber heel that gives a few cheeky inches to a petite figure. Also, it has a very clever slimming effect. The chunkiness of the boot actually juxtaposes to the calf and elongates the leg as a result. Nothing wrong with that!

Go for a full 90's resurgence look by sporting your combat boots with a frilly tea dress, minimal make-up and a knit cardigan.

Try a student look and style your boots with a pair of denim shorts, a trench coat and a cool red beret.

Opt for an 80's look by adding a LBD and fishnets.

For an up-to-date take on the trend, mix a slip dress under an oversized knit and finish the look with a pair of white Dr. Martens.

Is the picture above the first real life sighting of a piece from Burberry’s AW18 celebration of LGBTQ+ communities announced earlier this week? We’re hoping so because current Burberry face Adwoa Aboah wears her technicolour dream coat magnificently and the check patch the British powerhouse shared isn’t giving anything away besides a first glimpse of the rainbow check. If you can’t wait until outgoing Chief Creative Officer Christopher Bailey’s final show tomorrow, then check out the beautiful editorial Alasdair McLellan shot for LGBTQ+ platform them. Featuring same sex couples wearing AW18 pieces, you can see the rainbow check in a baseball cap, scarf and shirt. The thinking behind the collection, Bailey explains, is that "There has never been a more important time to say that in our diversity lies our strength, and our creativity." The collection will be available to buy immediately after the show and Burberry’s complementary set of initiatives include donations to Albert Kennedy Trust, the Trevor Project and ILGA.

Apart from Burberry, the other London Fashion Week shows are still shrouded in secrecy. What we do know is that Topshop Unique won’t be showing this year, J.W.Anderson is showing his new menswear and womenswear together, and that Delpozo has decamped from New York. We can’t wait to see how rising brands Matty Bovan and Halpern progress; how Molly Goddard, Rejina Pyo and Isa Arfen harness their success; and the streetstyle will hopefully be bolder and more playful.

One fashion week down, three to go. If New York Fashion Week felt a little bit under-the-radar this season, maybe it’s because designers largely eschewed fanfare for fanfare’s sake in favour of ultimately very wearable clothes for every type of women. From the Tom Ford’s glamazons and the modern minimalists at The Row to the arty sophisticates that Nanushka and Rosie Assoulin colourfully cater for, this sentiment was backed up by the diversity of the FROWs (Cardi B seated next Anna Wintour was one memorable moment) if not necessarily the models. Even the streetstyle set seemed less dramatic in their looks, turning to the tried-and-tested winning formula of a statement coat and bag, with jeans or skirts just seen, and boots (teeny-tiny sunglasses optional) as they paraded from show to show. Caroline Issa, Lisa Aiken and Susie Bubble pulled together some of the most notable. After sifting through countless runway pics, the five shows with the looks we’ll be adding to our wishlist and Pinterest boards pronto are below. In no particular order.

As none of these were ‘see now, buy now’, shop our edit of their current collections below! The collections mentioned are in the gallery above.

Dressing for winter can vary depending on the city you’re living. Still even in freezing temperatures it seems that a motivated fashion-savvy girl will find a way to sport her favourite items regardless of weather fits. One of the trends that most fashionistas have been craving the last two seasons at least is a pair of sleek and streamlined mules.

The difference is that it wasn’t until this season that we’ve noticed influencers figuring out how to wear them in freezing climates. The styling tricks can range from adding socks to keeping the toes warm. We’re rounding up the best styling hacks to wear mules in winter.

BALANCING ACT

Although it’s essential to keep your extremities at reasonable temperatures sometimes it’s enough dressing up other parts of the body to keep warm. Go for a cosy sweater and a flowy skirt or dress and throw on a pair of sling backs with bare feet.

DENIM ALLURE

A pair of quality cut hem jeans with black leather mules is a combo made in chic heaven. Add an oversized leather bag and a trench coat for effect.

PROPORTION GAME

Don’t be afraid to go for a bare feet mule while sporting a voluminous puffer jacket on top. Fashion is becoming more practical - see trainers and dresses - to suit both your sartorial craving for a mule and your need to keep warm.

SOCK ALERT

When all less fails, sock is the best option for the shoes that are just too good to give up. For extra flair add statement socks like metallic, glitter, slogan, or fishnet socks.

We’re just as excited to discover the runaway and  streetstyle trends when Fashion Month rolls around and New York Fashion Week AW18 hasn’t disappointed so far. We spotted inspired ways to style boxy tailoring, daytime sequins, plastic raincoats, look-at-me colour and more so far from Susie Bubble, Camille Charriere et al, but we’re most taken with how ubiquitous a belted waist is. Almost, if not, every day we’ve spied a belted coat (trenches are trending), or a statement strap pulling an otherwise ordinary outfit together with polish. And if you thought we’d reach peak belt bag, think again. Only sporty bum bags have been replaced with ladylike purses.

The best thing about this easy streetstyle trick is that you probably have a belt or belt bag in your wardrobe already that you can use. Don’t be afraid to clash tones and textures, the more unexpected the better to really get in on the action; and a corset belt will give your outerwear a dramatic new dimension. Let your belt bag whittle your waist, rather than buckling it on the hip or over one shoulder, as you’ll leave your hands free and create the illusion of an hourglass figure. That's flattering on everyone.

Shop our edits of the best belts, belt bags and belted coats below so you can trial the trend now.

Show-goers at NYFW had to bare the weather tantrums including pouring rain. And maybe under any other circumstances, this would be an obstacle but for street style stars this was their opportunity to show off their raining gear. Chanel's Spring 2018 collection, heavy in PVC and see-through elements was a favourite among the stylish editors and influencers including clear plastic footwear and bucket hats.

Another NYFW street style treasure was belted outerwear. Show attendees braced the freezing temperatures by opting for stylish translations of the basic trench coat or by simply belting many different layers all, at once. One of their favourite trenches to wear was Calvin Klein's signature outerwear by Raf Simons.

Others went for a plaid version, with plastic overlay, pastel colours like mint and blush pink or they scrapped the trench completely and opted for faux fur colourful coats but added plastic details like hats and boots.

If you want to incorporate rain gear into your everyday attire go for a head-to-toe plaid look in a muted colour palette like grey, white and black.

Go for a gelato chic approach by blending pastel colours and pastel details.

Finally, go for the colour clash and opt for bold colours juxtaposed with plastic ankle boots and bucket hats. Your world is your oyster!
