One of the strongest trends for SS17 that has well moved into this Fall is the check pattern and a very vast array of its variations: from small to bigger checks, plaids, houndstooth, and gingham the pattern will be embellishing our autumn/ winter outfits as it's proving to be one of this season's must-haves. It's a pattern statement that we've found across shirts, to tops, skirts, dresses and of course blazers. There's nothing more 70's and 80's chic than a smart check blazer channeling our inner working girl.

You can opt for a wonderful Stella Coat from MATCHESFASHION.com, a Prince of Wales blazer courtesy of Mango, or an incredibly versatile Jumpsuit from Topshop. You can find them in neutral hues and earthy tones that are complementary to most wardrobes and are insanely easy to match!

Pair a checked top with denim or suit trousers, and don your check jacket or coat over a sleek smart dress. Whatever your mood you're bound to make a statement!

Browse through our selection and take your pick below!

There's definitely something about the Victorian allure of the corset. You may even associate it with the art of burlesque or those body-con slim waist garments that the Kardashian/ Jenner clan made popular on social media. Whatever the case, this tiny piece of fabric which is both vintage and modern and gives definition to the sloppiest outfits, is one of the strongest trends of the season.

Actually, many notable style setters were already in on the secret last season by cinching their jackets, dresses and shirts with corsets. In SS17 designers took notice and emphasized the waist during the collections by placing impressive corsets over dresses and t-shirts.

Take Isabel Marant for example, who took a relatively casual double denim look and elevated it by adding a white corset belt. In another look, the designer opted for a colourful corset belt to add a pop of colour to a monochrome look. Over at Balenciaga Demna Gvasalia showed uber bold and over the top shoulders juxtaposed to cinched waists. You can easily incorporate this look by adding a corset belt to a blazer or suit. While Loewe showcased one of the best sellers adopted by many editors and influencers.

How can you style it? Add definition and colour to a simple white tee by adding a cool corset over it. Try wearing a corset belt over a coat or trench to give it structure. Pair a monochrome corset over a dress for a casual day out or go for a corset sewn on a T-shirt and wear it over your jeans. Turn a blazer into a dress by adding a corset over it and you have the perfect going out look! Want the look for less?

Transitional weather periods require transitional wardrobe. And one of the transitional weather absolute favourite staples is the trench coat. From royal, Kate Middleton to reality star Kim Kardashian West and blogger/ journalist Pandora Sykes (you are seeing the expansion of the fashion spectrum here, right?) are opting for multiple variations of the trench coat. Whether you choose the Bottega Veneta one that Lauren Bacall wore in the SS17 show or the uber trendy winter floral print at Michael Kors, this piece is bound to add more than a few points of elegance to your look.

There's great variety in form but most importantly in the fabric. High gloss details or full on shiny leather trenches. Tightly cinched or left in a looser silhouette. One of the most spot on colours for trench coats this season is khaki, but get ready for some impressive numbers in red, off-white, camel and baby blue.

Check our exclusive edit of the trench coats you need to own this season!

It seems that there was an unspoken consensus amongst fashion editors of most major fashion glossies out there on the must-have item that should be featured on the cover: Fuzzy Headwear. Miuccia Prada was the source of this fixation who created feathered and fuzzy headgear for both Miu Miu and Prada's Fall 2017 runway shows.

You can opt for an ostrich feather hood of an oversized fur coat or faux fur hats in a bold and impressive variety of shocking hues. Five covers including American Vogue, Vogue Spain (featuring this year's September cover Queen Bella Hadid) Paris Vogue and L'Officiel while LOVE's fall edition took it a step further by putting the hats on Sesame street characters such as Miss Piggy posing with Hailey Baldwin for the cover - Kermit and Animal grace the editorial pages.

Fuzzy and fury hats make a big statement but also a great investment. You can start big with a hooded coat or infuse it gradually with furry footwear, fur detailed bags or even a keychain. We have included in our edit an array of furry inspired products that will actually make you look forward to Winter!

There are not many things that can make us feel excited about Fall but this might be it: More than a few of the most stylish street style stars have been sporting ruffles with vinyl and chunky shoes and lifting vinyl to super trend status. Jessie Bush made a case for a sporty, oversized coat in the material during London Fashion Week while Alexa Chung styled hers with a slogan jumper and Barbour for an ideal Glastonbury look.

Look to Gizelle who found a fresh way to add a punk edge to her ensemble by adding a biker jacket or keeping her vinyl trousers low-key, by teaming them with a casual grey jumper. Style maven Rihanna worked a high-waisted vinyl red skirt with a grey t-shirt and a long denim jacket. Finally, Bella Hadid chose the head-to-toe black vinyl - Matrix type of outfit.

Whatever your inspiration this Fall be sure to rock at least one piece of vinyl and incorporate it into your personal style! Have a look at our favourite vinyl items for Autumn 2017!

What can we do when August hits and all you see when you look out the office window is rain? Well, yes, you prep for the imminent drop of A/W17 collections.

Let’s be honest here, we have been over summer for a while now and for most we’ve already lost our tan. For the ones who are yet to go enjoy the sun, well don’t complain if when you come back there is nothing left in store. Who leaves in August anyways?

As usual it all started with Instagram when we spotted the fashion pack wearing new season pieces and suddenly we knew we would want them all. Being a woman and therefore being a natural supporter of the feminist cause it seemed normal the power-woman tailored trend spoke to us. Worn by the likes of Mira Duma and Gilda Ambrosio it is a must-have this winter and it will make us happy to go to work, or the coffee shop for that matter, just to rock that executive look.

And because our job here is to find the best of the best for you ,well we found it. Ted Baker’s new A/W17 collection truly has it all! If you want to make the trend work for you there is no better place to start.

With a wide array of tailored pieces made of luxurious fabrics, we are in love. Upgrade your everyday look with otherworldly prints with names such as Kyoto Gardens, sporting butterflies which we learn are the symbol of love and transformation, a perfect omen for a successful back to school season.

If you fancy something a bit more understated, prefer one of their impeccable jumpsuit or tailored dress coming with lace detailing or subtle ruffles, you will be sure to make the right impression no matter the occasion.

Accessories have not been forgotten with feminine heels, silky scarves and structured purses. Throw a delicate kimono jacket - super hot this season - a soft leather vest or a wool and cashmere blend neutral coat for the most perfect professional finish.

See, we told you summer was overrated!

Discover our favourite pieces in the selection below or shop Ted’s entire A/W17 collection here.

Living in as unpredictable a climate as we do in the UK, its hard to know how to dress for the weather. But one thing is for sure, the trench coat is an all year round winner when it comes to style! As far as cover ups go, the trench is excellent for rain or shine, layered in the winter or worn in the summer as a light cover up.

The trench coat is undoubtedly a fashion favourite and has been ever since it was invented in 1850. Aquascutum claim to have been the first fashion house to design the classic coat, followed by the famous Burberry trench when Thomas Burberry used garbadine fabric and designed it as an army raincoat.

This hardwearing raincoat has evolved into many different forms since the early 1900s. From the classic beige garbadine coat to satin and leopard print, the evolution of the trench has exploded from corporate to casual. Shopcade has some excellent styles available, from a classic trench to a more rogue design.

With September fast approaching, there is no better time to invest in a trench. We are all looking for that back to work uniform and the ideal coat for milder months ahead. Find your perfect trench coat below, dress it up or down and wear it day in and day out. It will remain a staple in your wardrobe forever.
