Harsh weather, fumes and the stress of city life can weaken our defences and dry up the skin so protecting it is key. Luckily, anti-pollution beauty has arrived. So, for all you city dwellers, we've prepared a list of hacks and products to save your complexion, fight free radicals and get that much-desired glow. Anti-pollution beauty consists of purifying the skin and then  reviving it with great skincare and nutrition...

Begin your routine with a great cleanser. Wash your face and then exfoliate to slough away dry, dead skin; you can use an AHA for this or a gentle scrub two or three times a week.

Follow this with a charcoal mask charcoal is great at purifying the skin and ridding your face of city grime and dirt. Next, apply defence-boosting oils and glow-activating serums for that extra luminous effect.

Finally, make sure you invest in a quality SPF and a daily moisturiser that will protect your skin against damaging UVA and UVB rays. Make-up containing an SPF is great for an extra barrier against sun damage too.

Boost your inner beauty by indulging in a diet full of antioxidants like citrus fruit and berries, nuts and delicious avocados for Vitamin E. Vitamin E is great for fighting free radicals and promoting healthy cell reproduction.

Be sure to incorporate lots of Omega 3 and fatty acids into your diet to help with this too. These are typically found in salmon, tuna and other oily fish. These vitamins and minerals are great for boosting your collagen production, giving you that healthy glow.

Everything is smocked. Blouses, dresses, skirts… This retro trend is a summer favourite. As soon as the weather gets warmer, smock styles settle in stores. If you’re going to a vacation you probably have one smocked item in your bag! Why not move this style to the city rather than waiting for the sea side? #smock #smocking #trend #style #streetstyle #fashion

Forget muted tones and sleek silhouettes, this spring designers are opting for maximalism, and the bolder and brighter the better. One of our favourite takes on the trend comes from Colombian designer Johanna Ortiz and luxury online retailer mytheresa.com. The pair have collaborated to create a statement nine-piece capsule collection sold exclusively at mytheresa.com

Known for contrasting vibrant, festive design with flattering and creative shapes, Johanna looked to the stylish city of Cartagena, Spain for the collection’s inspiration. ‘For me, Cartagena is visual poetry,’ says Johanna. ‘The essence of the place is a conductor of creative energy and inspiration. It is the hometown of magical realism.’

Oversized polka dots on silk, voluminous ruffles and striking tropical prints are the focus of this collection with thigh-high splits and deep V-neck styles adding extra flair. The collection includes maxi dresses, statement tops, swimsuits and kimonos - perfect for brightening up your wardrobe for SS18.

Whether you’re jetting off to warmer climes, getting festival-ready for Coachella this month or simply looking to maximise your new-season wardrobe, this exclusive collection inspired by sunny Spanish resorts is the one you’ve been waiting for.

The collection launches globally on mytheresa.com from April 11 2018.

On the first Monday of every May we eagerly await the red-carpet glam squad who’ll assemble at the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. The annual costume gala is only a few days away and we're buzzing with anticipation.

This year the Gala will be co-hosted by Amal Clooney, Donatella Versace and the undisputed queen of red carpet events, Rihanna – we’re still not over the train on the mustard Guo Pei gown she sported in 2015. The theme for the 70th anniversary of fashion's biggest fund-raising event is Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination; a pretty controversial subject in comparison to past themes.

China: Through the Looking Glass, Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty, Punk: Chaos to Couture and of course, last year's Rei Kawkubo: Comme des Garçons were among the iconic themes of Galas past. This time, Fashion and the Catholic Imagination will focus on religious depictions showcased across three galleries including the Met Cloisters.

The exhibition will feature 50 pieces from the Sistine Chapel – including robes, rings, tiaras and other accessories from the 18th to the early 21st century. As for fashion, guests will be treated to a viewing of 150 religiously-inspired ensembles from houses like Balenciaga, Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana, and of course Versace.

Care to jump on the bandwagon and dress to fit the theme yourself? Head to our gallery for more inspiration and shop the best accessory styles from our edit below…

Soho House is something of a 'celebrity' in the hospitality industry in London - well, as much a private members' club can be. It's the one everyone knows, but don't let one that you want to go, no, only non-members would do that. In an attempt to revive White City as somewhere you would go for more than a trip to Westfield, Soho House have opened their newest club in the area. Whilst it might not be the most coveted area this Soho House looks beautiful as you can imagine and I am just obsessed with this picture of the terrace. The all glass will evoke an al fresco feel whilst huddled inside, as will the foliage. The muted blue and black shades are chic and modern - immediately pours self glass of rosé. As we're going through the motions in 2018 many are already thinking of a summer holiday resort by the sea in an exotic location or at least enjoying a quick and rejuvenating city break. So you have organised your carry on, and your suitcase you've packed your beauty kit, your casual wear, and your evening wear. But what about your airport outfit? For the longest time celebrity culture has been associated with those glamorous looks snapped in between airport lounges and gates creating a new type of occasion: travel-wear.#000000">

If you're all about unassuming comfort go for Khloe Kardashian's or Nina Kravitz's nonchalant approach. An oversized hoodie, with a pair of black leggings, trainers and sunnies. Don't let the slouchy ease of the outfit fool you. This version is ultra chic especially paired with minimal and fresh-looking makeup.

For a more elegant and classic version follow Victoria Beckham's example and go for a pair of jeans a white crisp open-collar shirt and throw on a long waist-fitting trench coat, and oversized sunnies. Because you just woke up from your long-haul flight beauty sleep.

If you want to make a statement then go for unapologetic bold. Opt for a memorable colour like mustard or violet and pair it with white sneakers a slogan tee and sunglasses. Voila! Airport outfit sorted.

So where are you headed this Spring? Go to our gallery for now for some extra airport style inspiration and then scroll down below to shop your favourite looks!
