Pieces inspired by nature are always a winning option at this time of year and we’ve spotted stylists and designers interpreting the trend in a big way. From animal prints to floral embroidery, petal tones to runways disguised as enchanted forests – as seen at Chanel – collections influenced by the natural world are everywhere.

JewelStreet’s Fauna collection is a cute homage to the animal kingdom, with butterflies and birds adorning statement necklaces and snakes, lizards and starfish – a la Versace – making sparkling appearances elsewhere.

Living in as unpredictable a climate as we do in the UK, its hard to know how to dress for the weather. But one thing is for sure, the trench coat is an all year round winner when it comes to style! As far as cover ups go, the trench is excellent for rain or shine, layered in the winter or worn in the summer as a light cover up.

Perfect bridge between winter and spring, the trench coat is undoubtedly a fashion favourite and has been ever since it was invented in 1850. Aquascutum claim to have been the first fashion house to design the classic coat, followed by the famous Burberry trench when Thomas Burberry used garbadine fabric and designed it as an army raincoat.

This hardwearing raincoat has evolved into many different forms since the early 1900s. SS18 reinvented the classic transitional staple, when we thought we had seen it all. Layers, corsets, fringes, Céline, Christian Dior and Valentino amongst others proved that this must have was far from boring. From the classic beige garbadine coat to satin and leopard print, the evolution of the trench has exploded from corporate to casual. Shopcade has some excellent styles available, from a classic trench to a more rogue design.

With Spring finally here, there is no better time to invest in a trench. We are all looking for that back to sunshine uniform and the ideal coat for milder months ahead. Find your perfect trench coat below, dress it up or down and wear it day in and day out. It will remain a pillar of your wardrobe forever.

One of the most immediate trends to emerge from fashion month was anything and everything plastic. Whether it was see-through opac black made of PVC or vinyl, plastic interpretations were appearing everywhere during AW18. Think long practical raincoats at Burberry, moto futurism at Valentino or Chanel's chic 1960's see-through version including capes and boots.

Even Yeeze caught in on the trend and presented thigh-high tubular boots. Most designers were looking at the trend ironically, attempting to elevate the plastic fabric which is associated with food preservation to a fashion trend. Kind of like 2010's obsession with trash bags.

Street style was also heavily focused on plastic wear especially when it came to rain gear. Admittedly this trend is challenging to wear IRL even though the synthetic fabric has made its way into our mainstream attire starting from the collections of all our sartorial favourites.#000000">

It was Karl Lagerfeld who truly gave PVC an haute couture dimension not only by the artistry with which he crafted the clothes but also by styling them with modern Chanel tweed suits. They were word under feminine hooded rain capes in plastic, denim jackets and skirts were trimmed with plastic fringe while he created low-heeled boots in clear plastic as a luxury alternative to our common rain boot. Similarly, Demna Gvasalia and Acne Studios opted for sleek plastic raincoats.

This season the trend dominated New York and London alike. Philipp Plein was most experimental by layering faux fur and metallic pieces while Jeremy Scott opted for Space age and taking cues from Barbarella in the 1960's.When it comes to styling, work the trend around your everyday essentials instead of adopting a head-to-toe look.

Take influencer Yoyo Cao's example by layering a transparent overcoat over a classic camel trench, white tee and distressed denim. Try a plastic trench belted with a Gucci belt or simply invest in plastic accessories: From a see-through bag to a hat or boots, there's always a more nuanced way to incorporate plastic in your everyday attire.

Trenchcoats will never be out of fashion. During the past season trenchcoats had its moment with many upgrades. From oversized, to vinyl there were many styles and colours of trenchcoats. Just as we thought, this style was over worn, Burberry made a comeback with rainbow checked trenchs in its latest collection. So I’m guessing we’re back on the trench for Autumn Winter 2018… #trenchcoat #trench #trend #burberry #streetstyle #style #autumn #winter

This week we celebrate the style of Meghan Markle. In honour of her engagement, the bride-to-be appeared in Kensington Palace arm-in-arm with Prince Harry to pose for their official photos. And as always people were interested in her fashion choices more than the event. This time, she opted for a white wrap coat from the Canadian brand, Line the Label, an emerald P.A.R.O.S.H. dress and a pair of nude heels from Aquazzura. Just a few moments later the label's site crashed due to high demand for the specific coat.

There have been many celebrities that adopted the white coat craze this year, including Reese Witherspoon, Dunai Gurita and Heidi Klum. Even from her first public appearance with Prince Harry at the Invictus Games in Toronto, we fell in love with the actress's style. The Suits actress has been praised for her elegance and grace, as well as her kindness and beauty and is credited for her philanthropic endeavours. Similarities have been drawn between Markle and Diana the "People's Princess" and their compassionate natures.

The speculated princess-to-be has stated that she prefers wearing classic pieces and doesn't into trends. One of Meghan's fellow Suitcase cast members quoted  "She's got a warm elegance, though her style is hard to pin down. it's classy and timeless. "With a palette of monochrome and tonal looks, Markle is known for her red carpet polished perfection. She supports British designers like Burberry and isn't afraid to embrace some British high-street like M&S. We've selected some of Meghan best style moments that you can find in our gallery.

From her recent appearances to her off-duty casual style, Meghan is undoubtedly a style icon and royal in the making. Shop white coats from our expert edit below!

You have surely spotted the trend that dominated Autumn/ Winter season, but now, check coats and blazers are moving well into Spring season. Having replaced the omnipresent denim as the most wearable spring outerwear, heritage checks can be worn in many versions.

Go for check skirts, tops, two-piece suits, trousers even blanket scarves. Another alluring edition that emerged straight from Paris Fashion week street style was the vinyl check trench coat. Offered in a wide variety of colour combinations, from classic to the rainbow pattern, the vinyl touch gives check a significant 2018 update.

The heritage check craze started not with Burberry but with Demna Gvasalia's SS17 collection for Balenciaga after he presented deconstructed and XXL proportions in blazers coats and skirts. The next season, check evolved in a number of AW17 catwalks Mulberry and Burberry went for classic heritage aesthetic while on the streets, Bella Hadid wore a cropped and deconstructed version.

The great thing about this trend is that you incorporate it as you please, without necessarily donning a formal Prince of Wales look. For a simple daytime look, wear your favourite check trench over a white rollneck with plenty of monochrome and a wide-legged jean for that seventies appeal. Add the polished vinyl edition for a statement look.

As temperatures rise it might be time to get that check blazer out of storage and sport it for Spring. Even though it has fallen in and out of fashion over time, from a work-suit in the 90's to the punk era of the 80's, this season, check blazers are the perfect addition to your springtime attire over slogan tees, jeans, frilly dresses and anything that might be hanging in your wardrobe.

As Paris Fashion week unfolds, we have already spotted a few trends on the streets that have made us swoon, especially when they decidedly combine style with comfort. An evolution of the XXL scarf, the poncho is making a come back. Ponchos are amazing for layering and a great piece of transitional wear from winter to spring and vice versa.

A jacket may feel a bit confining with too many layers, and as we move through March we want to stock up on looser and more versatile options. That's why if you're tired of the blanket scarf you can change it up with a boho-inspired fringed poncho.

Look for inspiration at brands like Chloé, Burberry and Monse for a dramatic flair. Go for rainbow prints, Scandi patterns, oversized silhouettes and sequin embellishments like sparkly broaches. Try an all black poncho and let a few details shine through of your favourite knit or shirt (weather permitting) if classic is more of your calling.

There's a big winter chill hitting the UK this week, and as much as we aren't looking forward to the cold breeze, we are looking forward to an excuse to invest in a new quilted or puffa coat.

The duvet trend was massive in the AW17-18 shows, from Balenciaga to Burberry all the sartorial giants have leapt on board.
