Happy Mother's Day! To celebrate the day, we recently caught up with new mummy and fashion blogger Vaida. She is the author of the blog Fashion Addicted and the Instagram account @fashionbyvaida, where she documents her adventures in fashion, beauty travelling and of course parenting. Read her interview below and find out the best Mother's Day gifts she suggests on her exclusive list below.

What compelled you to start your own fashion & lifestyle blog?

I started my fashion career as a model but it just wasn’t for me.  Despite that I still was into fashion very much. After constantly being approached by girls and asked where I bought one or another item I decided to create fashion blog and share all my outfit details there.

What do you enjoy most about the creative process?

Even it’s hard work I enjoy every bit of it. From creating an outfit to posting it on the blog/Instagram and all the bits in between: looking for beautiful spots to shoot, posing or creating a flatlay, taking pictures, editing them. And the most enjoyable thing is to get positive reactions from my readers.

What are the challenges and also the benefits of being a freelance content creator and influencer especially being a new mum?

I love being independent, I can work cosily on my sofa watching my baby playing around. I think that’s the best thing. However being a mum and freelancing has cons too. I am limited to attend various events and sometimes plans can be changed because of my babies needs.

What are your non-negotiables regarding your wellness routine?

Having a bath with lot’s of bubbles, candles and relaxing music on Sundays is my best wellness time.

How would you describe your personal style? Can you give us an example by styling your go-to outfit featuring your favourite brands?

In one word I would say it’s elegant. I usually choose classic pieces. Mango white suit with Gucci handbag and Zara heels.

What are your new mum lifesaver products that you can't live without?

Mama Mio products are wonderful for both mums to be and new mums.

You're always travelling. Which one of your recent destinations was the most memorable to you and why?

Probably the best memories are from Mauritius (we got married there) and Thailand. Everything is so different there, nature is mesmerising, people are relaxed and the food is super delicious.

What are you working on at the moment? Do you have any specific goals for this year?

I have Build a Bear project coming up. I am going with my boy to Build a Bear workshop to create Easter bunny. I am sure we will have a lot of fun. I have also few beauty and fashion projects coming up soon so keep your eyes peeled and follow my blog Fashion Addicted and Instagram account @fashionbyvaida

Oversize blazers, trousers and laces shoes that bring that masculine side that I love Fashion allows us to play and enhance what we want to see from us take advantage! The barrier between the masculine and the feminine is becoming more diffuse in the world of fashion, and today it is not necessary to steal any garment from our boy to create a "tomboy" look. Pink shirt day started as an act of kindness that turned into a global movement to stop bullying online and offline. This year, Pink Shirt Day, is focused in battling online bullying, whether it takes the shape of harassment, spreading rumours, sharing embarrassing information or threats using the hashtag #kindnessneedsnofliter. According to the numbers, 1 in 5 kids are bullied. The problem has only escalated as it moved from the playgrounds and schools to online.

THE STORY OF THE PINK SHIRT

In 2007 a young boy showed up in a pink shirt on his first day of school and was bullied as a result by a fellow student. The next day David Shepherd, Travis Price and their friends wore pink shirts in camaraderie for the unlucky young man. This simple act stopped the bullying and fuelled a global movement that brings awareness of bullying and raises funds for community programs that help spread the anti-bullying message. Here’s more on their story. So today wear a pink shirt to work, or for drinks  and donate to the Pink Shirt Cause. Like the Pink Shirt Facebook Page a like and use the Hashtag #pinkshirtday to stop bullying online.

HOW TO WEAR

This shade of pink, the hot pink slightly more neon shade, is very much on trend also. Rihanna’s has been essential to the popularity of this hue. It was the color of the sand mountains for her SS18 Fenty show and a prominent color in the collection itself. Growing from the omnipresent millennial pink of last season, this shade of pink is bolder and more vibrant.

Scroll down below and discover the best pink shirts you can sport and support a great cause!

Everyone knows that there have been two hats stealing the season. The first, of course, is he berry. A classic European hat that we will never tire of. The second is a noughties classic that has come back into our fashion-lives quite suddenly: the baker boy hat. Structured with a small visor but fun round top. I was skeptical about this style of hat for a while, I wasn't sure if it was something only a few people could pull off. I think (I hope) I was wrong. I've seen this hat worn so many different ways, with a casj jeans outfit and with cute floral dresses - it seems to go with everything. Image: #ASOS

New York Fashion Week runs from today until next Wednesday, February 14th following the Men's collections February 5th- 8th. However, this New York Fashion Week is different than the rest. It's following on a wave of changes that was initiated last season when Rodarte, Proenza Schouler, Altuzarra and Thom Browne moved their presentations to Paris. Tome's Ramon Martin and Ryan Lobo also joined the pack of designers leaving New York for Paris. While the controversial collaboration of Rihanna's Fenty x Puma received many accolades and the quintessential American spirit brand of Ralph Lauren hosted his show in his Bedford garage. This season more designers are striking on their own accord while two are coming out of town.

THE OUT-OF-TOWNERS

Tomas Maier is celebrating the opening of his Madison Avenue store and is visiting his Bottega Venetta show from Milan to New York for one season. Maier's move makes sense since the fresh air being infused into the collection abides by the New York edgy and youthful sensibility. Esteban Cortazar - the boy wonder from Paris, formerly creative director of Emanuel Ungaro, is moving his show from Paris to New York.

THE DEPARTURES

Ever since Alexander Wang announced that he's moving #WangFest to a June/December schedule there are more designers evading the conventional Fashion Calendar. Wand staged several street parties in September and will present his final show on the official schedule this Saturday before moving with his plans. Marchesa's Georgina Chapman after filing for divorce from Harvey Weinstein and Keren Craig cancelled their runway show in favour of a more low-key event. Delpozo and Victoria Beckham are switching New York for London, Tome traded New York for Paris while there will be no Fenty x Puma show. Many others Public School and Baja East switched to straight-to-consumer, Burberry and Mansur Gavriel wanted to a see-now-buy-now model while Rebecca Minkoff and Lela Rose opted for Instagram shows instead of IRL ones.

FASHION WEEK STAPLES

But still, it's New York fashion week Marc Jacobs whose latest collection was featured on the cover of American Vogue is closing the show. While Raf Simons is presenting both his third collection for Calvin Kein and also showcasing his own menswear brand. Tom Ford is showing two separate collections Women's and Men's. We're anticipating Coach, Michael Kors, Oscar de la Renta and of course Jeremy Scott! We're also expecting a breath of fresh air from newcomers (to the NYFW runway at least) Eckhaus Latta, the powerful subversive duo, and the American - Australian Matthew Adams Dolan, a denim aficionado and Rihanna favourite.

THE FROW

As with designers, there has been a thinning of big celebrity sightings too. This time last year Katie Holmes, Jennifer Hudson and Lucy Liu sat at Zac Posen alone, for example, and by September, the significant celeb snaps were confined to those of a pregnant Jessica Alba and Jessica Seinfeld. And all for a good reason. According to The New York Times, in the practice of pay-per-pose, an A-lister like Angelina Jolie could command close to $1 million per show. As expected Tom Ford kicked off NYFW AW18 with a guest list that included Ciara and husband Russell Wilson, Pusha T and Halsey. Jessica Alba is a Tory Burch veteran so she’ll probably be there, ditto for Zoe Kravitz at close friend Alexander Wang’s show. Rashida Jones is a fan of  Rachel Comey, actress Chloe Grace Moretz has been a COACH regular in the past and may even show up to the Victoria Beckham show (she’s currently dating Brooklyn Beckham). Olivia Culpo and her New England Patriots player boyfriend Danny Amendola are scheduled to make an appearance, according to E! Online. And from the music scene: Solange Knowles Tinashe and Teyana Taylor may all show up. As far as street style trendsetters are concerned: Yasmin Sewell, (heavily pregnant) Leandra Medine, Lisa Aiken and Linda Tol are all safe bet sightings and women to follow on Instagram if you’re not already.

New York Fashion Week starts today and will run until next Wednesday 14th February (aka Valentine’s Day) following the Men's collections held between the 5th and 8th of February. However, there are a host of changes, initiated last season when Rodarte, Proenza Schouler, Altuzarra and Thom Browne moved their presentations to Paris. Tome's Ramon Martin and Ryan Lobo crossed over to the French capital as well, and even more, designers are shaking up the fashion system.

THE OUT-OF-TOWNERS

Tomas Maier is celebrating the opening of his Madison Avenue store and is visiting his Bottega Venetta show from Milan to New York for one season. Maier's move makes sense since the fresh air being infused into the collection abides by the city’s urban edge and youthful sensibility. Others like Public School and Baja East have switched to a straight-to-consumer format, Burberry and Mansur Gavriel’s collections will be see-now-buy-now, while Rebecca Minkoff and Lela Rose have opted for Instagram shows instead of IRL ones.

FASHION WEEK MAINSTAYS

But one of NYFW’s biggest names Marc Jacobs, whose latest collection was featured on the cover of American Vogue, is closing the week as usual. Raf Simons is presenting both his third collection for Calvin Klein and his own menswear brand; while Tom Ford is eschewing co-ed shows by showing his new menswear and womenswear separately a few days apart. We're looking forward to seeing what Coach, Michael Kors, Oscar de la Renta and of course Jeremy Scott have come up with! And keeping a close eye on Monse, newcomers (to the NYFW runway at least) Eckhaus Latta, the powerful subversive duo, and Rihanna’s favourite denim aficionado Matthew Adams Dolan.

Fabric coats are very stylish and elegant pieces for men. In my opinion these clothes are very awesome and make his daily outfit much better. If a boy wear a fabric coat, his look will be great. It's ideal choice for a special event, for a business day, for a date night. If you're more sporty you can even combine this with your sneakers.

The general mood at Paris Fashion Week has been in line with the overall fashion aesthetic of frivolity, celebration and glam! We saw glitter galore and pretty in pink looks that marked the glorious return of the blush! Although there's nothing new about the blush the way it's applied has changed a lot. Applied in small amounts around the cheekbones the pink blush denotes to a healthy, outdoorsy look or I just finished my Zumba class face. In the 80's the blush was employed in a much more extravagant manner. The 80s pop-punk icons like Debby Harry Madonna and Boy George used ample amounts of bright pink blush giving away a more rock 'n roll vibe than a ladylike touch.

At the SS18 Paris Fashion Week backstage, the vibe was similar. The lines were drawn to create an effect going as high as the eye creases. Very different from following the natural shade and silhouette of the cheekbones which was done recently. That "buffing" effect was all the rage at Clio Peppiatt but also at Sophia Webster where cheekbones were swept up and emphasized with rosy elements. Over at Chanel, there was a clash between the blue eyelashes and the peachy cheeks, while Valentino went for that punkish brow to cheekbone technique.

You can easily incorporate this look and be as adventurous as you like with it. Take it down to an everyday makeup look by using a powdered blush on your cheekbones. Add a liquid rose blush for that extra glowing effect. For a night out go for a bold party look in tone ranging from peach to bright fuschia!

This is a great 90’s inspired look. I love the Bardot style printed top, which gives a nod to modern fashion trends. A baker boy style hat is a fabulous accessory choice too! #ootd #motelrocks #fashion #outfitinspo Photo Credit: @MotelRocks on Twitter

I have just discovered @chanel_archives on Instagram and boy and I obsessed. The account features Chanel throughout the decades from the classic chic to the outrageously fun. How insane is this getup 'Karl Hits the Mall' from Spring/Summer 1996. I can't deal with the utter cuteness. Chanel meets Barbie. Image from their Instagram
