Finally Black Friday and Cyber Monday are almost here which means it's time to splurge on a few little extra things that can put a smile on our faces for the next year at least. I’m obsessed with the way that Jenn has styled these simple knee high boots from @nordstromrack - so perfect for this season! I also adore the asymmetric vibes within the look. This shows that a monochrome look can be fun! #jennim #bloggerstyle #aw17 #nordstromrack #ootd Photo Credit: @imjennim on Twitter

'm loving the different textures in this outfit. The dress has an airy fabric that it makes him look like the perfect dress pick for summer o spring, but it's the denim frannel with the shinny red boots that transform this look into the most interesting and fun fall look i've ever seems. This is the perfect example how you can re-use your favorite spring and summer pieces for fall, by adding the right companions. NYC born, Carolyn Compres is the author and Founder the C Statement and a contributor to Taste The Style. She's a Fashion Merchandising student, wife and mama of two who feeds on chocolate and vino. She's an amazing example of a young mum with an exquisite sense of style and our Influencer Focus this week! We caught up with Carolyn and talked about current go-to items, her personal style and all that behind-the-scenes-work that goes in maintaining a blog today.

What compelled you to start a blog?#500050">

I had always wanted to do it but it wasn’t until I gave birth to my first daughter and had to spend a lot of my time at home that I did it. I didn’t feel like I could be at an office from 9-5 because my daughter was too young and I just couldn’t do leave her (first baby problems). Doing this really made me think of things I could do from home and that I was still passionate about, and it occurred to me that I had always wanted to blog. I had a lot of fears, especially the fear of being judged but I got passed them and did it. I am extremely glad I did because I couldn’t be happier with what I have accomplished in a year.#500050">

What's your relationship with fashion? How did it start and what motivates you to keep at it?

Ever since I was a little girl I was extremely passionate about dressing up. I guess it started by seeing my mom and looking at her dress up, it just made me really interested in fashion. I used to collect Vogue Magazines back when I lived in the Dominican Republic and I knew I wanted to dress like those people I saw on the magazines. It’s not hard to keep motivated at it because I feel it comes naturally but sometimes I get a ‘fashion block’ just like writers do and that’s when it becomes a little harder.#500050">

How would you define your personal style? Do you have any icons people accounts that you follow?#500050">

I don’t have a definition for my personal style. I would like to think I am a chameleon, I am willing to try anything at all and I guess that what makes my style. When it comes to inspiration, my biggest inspiration is everyone and everything I see on the streets of NY. Instagram accounts that inspire me are @alwaysjudging and @mirandamakaroff. Both very different styles, but they inspire me in so many ways on a daily basis.#500050">

What do you enjoy most about mixing and matching high street with high end clothing i.e. from YOOX?#500050">

To me, it has always been about the clothing. It doesn’t matter what brands I am shopping or how much does it cost, all that matters is that I like it and I think that’s what I love about it. Using clothes that you are genuinely proud of wearing and not because someone is paying you or because it is socially acceptable to wear it.#500050">

Can you give us 3 styling rules that you abide by?#500050">

I don’t think there are any rules in fashion and that’s what I love about it. You should wear whatever you feel like wearing and forget about the rules.#500050">

What are your current go-to items when getting ready in the morning?#500050">

My current go-to items in the morning are my white Mango boots, my Gucci belt, and my Tory Burch sweater (Its freezing in NY).#500050">

What's the biggest misconception about having your own blog?#500050">

I think the biggest misconception about having a blog is that you need to wear certain items, or that you need to follow certain rules. Be yourself, be confident, and don’t give a shit about what others think.#500050">

What's your morning routine? (makeup beauty styling breakfast)#500050">

I love skin care, and it’s something I want to talk a lot more about with my audience. Although it might sound vain, but your face is so important because everything you do with it people will see. There is no covering up, although makeup helps it isn’t magic. That’s why having a good beauty routine is important, I am still learning about my face therefor not claiming to know anything about it but the most important thing about my morning routine is my skincare routine, I wash my face with Avène : Cleanance Gel, then I tone with Caudalie: Beauty Elixir, then I essence with SK-II: Facial Treatment Essence, then I use a serum from the Glossier 3 pack and then moisturize with Avène: Cleanance Expert, and finish with Milk Makeup’s: Cooling Water for under eye puffiness and  Sunshine Skin Tint which contains both SPF and a little bit of preservative free foundation. I am not a breakfast person but I always have a Starbucks Grande Nonfat Capuccino to go!

What projects are you working on now?#500050">

There are many exciting projects on the works. A lot of brand collaborations coming at the end of the month and then there are other personal projects I am little too superstitious to tell just yet.

#VivienneWestwood has been a designer I have loved for as long as I can remember. Her kooky but clever nature is reflected in her designs. These boots are beautiful. The greens and blues evoke ideas of the sea, mermaids but there's also a subtle suggestion of snakeskin. The block black heel completes the boot in a chic way with the gold detail on the zip giving it a slight edge. Image: Instagram @viviennewestwood

After a year in which she has opted for her film career, Cara Delevingne returned to modelling in a campaign for the British firm Jimmy Choo. Cruise 2018, is the name of the advertising campaign, in which the 25-year-old model appears again with her long hair and wearing a very sequined dress, in addition to Choo's matching boots. As we move closer towards winter months and brace ourselves for chilly weather, less daylight and more time indoors sipping a hot cup of coffee or wine - our wardrobes also transition. During this time of changing seasons we want to feel comfortable, yet elegant and stylish - oversized sweaters and all of that hygge feeling!

Winter is really about individual style, as more materials require greater stylistic flair. The good thing is you can find the best selection of premium quality products all under one roof. YOOX, provides without fail a wide choice of hard-to-find clothing and accessories from the most prestigious designers.

From beautifully crafted mules and cross-body bags at Prada, to party dresses at CELINE, to a plethora of bold patterns at Emilio Pucci, to severe diva vibes at Balmain and all your athleisure essentials at Rick Owens and Stella McCartney.

PARTY LOOK

You can pair a sleek Alaia dress with a faux fur leopard print coat, high stilleto heels and a bold lip for a night out with the girls.

COMFY LUXE

Cashmere, velvet and leather as well as luxe chunky knitwear are very on trend for this winter. You can dress them down with a classic pair of denim jeans and ankle boots or pair a chunky knit with a leather skirt and thigh high boots for party look that is both chic yet relaxed.

STATEMENT COATS

This season it's all about statement coats that keep us warm and are utterly chic at the same time. Think a long streamlined brown CELINE coat for a trenchcoat alternative, a cool bomber jacket from Emilio Pucci or go for a romantic cape from CHLOE.

SUITED UP

From Stella McCartney to Victoria Beckham the suiting trend is inspired by power women especially Hillary Rodham Clinton and has made a serious comeback. From checks, to white sleek suits from Moschino and Jil Sander to buttoned-ups with tie at Roberto Cavalli, there's no way you can go wrong with the 2017's version of the power working girl.

Winter is all about spending quality time with loved ones and we think it's time to treat them to a little gift. We're pleased to announce that from Sunday October 29th through Tuesday October 31st, YOOX is offering up to 25% off your favorite designer styles.
