If like us you’re green with envy at the sight of your favourite influencers’ homes, fear not because we have a few quick hacks to help you style your space.

An easy way to lend a room a touch of luxe is to style your surfaces. Whether you’re working with a desk, a shelf or a coffee table, styling up a surface will instantly make a room look high-end and considered. There are just three simple rules to follow…

Books

Stack your books and stack ‘em high. This is an opportunity to display a mix of your favourite reads and beautiful coffee table titles. Stack according to size and stick to one color palette for a deisgn-led look.

Quirks

Houseplants and flowers are your friends so be sure to include at least one in your set up. Unique objects add interest and luxe scented candles are always a winner.

Space

Be sure not to overcrowd your surface and keep your arrangement minimal. Play with high and low points across the table or shelf and have fun mixing it up.

Ever spend hours scrolling through gorgeous homes on Pinterest wishing you could totally transform your space? You’re not alone. Whether you rent or own your home there’s always room for improvement but nailing that luxe look can be expensive.

Any interior designer knows that it’s not about the space itself but how you dress it so to save you time, money and to spare you those jealous feelings, we looked to our panel of design experts for five fail-safe home hacks to elevate your space in a matter of minutes…

Monochrome

Black and white colour schemes are considered classic for a reason. Sleek, simple and enduringly stylish, opting for striking furniture, artworks and accessories in fresh white, grey and black tones is an easy way to make your home look luxe.

Metallics

Equally, a few shimmering accents in gold, silver and copper have the power to lift a monochrome colour scheme and lend a room an opulent feel without being too over the top. Keep things pared back and opt for metallic lighting, picture frames or accessories like vases and candles for a luxurious finish.

Artwork

Never underestimate the power of art. No matter the size or style of your space, a gallery wall can totally transform a room. Group a few framed prints of varying sizes that play on a single palette together and dot a few around the room for an effortlessly polished look.

Accessories

If your furniture’s a little on the boring side, you can luxe things up with a few well-placed accessories in no time. Stack beautiful books on your coffee table, fill stylish vases with fresh flowers and scatter plush cushions on your sofa.

Minimalism

Finally, remember the rule that less is more. It’s easy to assume that filling your space with beautiful things will make it look fancier, but in reality, the sleeker, sparser and tidier a space, the more luxurious it looks. Keep things minimal always.

It’s amazing what you can do with a simple photo. A little editing, a forgiving  filter and you can create the perfect shot. Apart from the odd OOTD, flatlay, food snaps and gorgeous travel shots, the focus on Instagram has shifted massively towards home decor and interiors this year with the shelfie replacing the selfie.  Here are a few ways to create the perfect shelfie...

Speak your style One of the most obvious ways is to look at your shelf as a curated IRL feed of your favorite items. Books, memorabilia, plants and artworks are a great place  to start.

Mix and match

Be playful with your shelves by arranging a random array of bits and pieces you have collected over the years and arrange them by similarities in color or by general aesthetic. Then opt for cool clashes to make your shelf stand out.

Symmetry and asymmetry

It's all about striking the perfect balance by opting for at least a few items with clean lines and opting for a visually striking display by playing with symmetry and asymmetry.

Color code

Find a main tonal theme to follow; dark, moody, warm or colorful? Take your pick.

Go green

Adding a few plants here and there can really set the mood for a great shelfie. Add a few white posters and candles for effect.

Ready to create the perfect shelfie? Find all of your essentials in our edit below...

Whether for business or pleasure, we're flying more than ever and our questions for the women who board and disembark each flight looking nothing less than exceptional only keep growing.

There are models, editors and industry mavens who are more than happy to share their in-flight beauty tricks but to keep things simple, we've summed up some of the most efficient:

Cleanse your skin before starting any beauty routine.
To avoid dehydration, sensitivity and tired skin, don't forget to cleanse. Your skin will thank you at the end of the trip.

Don't load up on make-up to wear throughout the entirety of your flight
Once cleansed, moisturise to stay fresh-faced with supple, hydrated skin. Treat your lips to some first-class service Moisturise often your dried-out air-con lips with a rich lip balm.

Save bag space for things that'll stave off boredom
If you're on a long haul flight, choose what you pack with care (we recommend iPad, headphones, books etc), avoid bringing your entire make-up collection to touch up with before reaching your destination. Load up retractable brushes with bronzer and brush prior to leaving home!

Give your hair the care it deserves
Compact Tangle Teezers and dry shampoo are your new best friend! Get some help for a stress-free flight Essential oils can help you restore your energy and sleep better, for a natural glow at disembarking.

And last, but not least... Drink all the water you can!
Aim for at least 1/2 liter per hour on board.

With all products available in 100ml or less, shop below for everything from cleansing wipes to heavy duty moisturisers and dry shampoo to quick-fix make-up items!

As we keep our track on our New Year New You content organising and planning for a more fruitful and productive year, we couldn't leave out the amazing Japanese organizing consultant and author Marie Kondo. Her bestselling book "The ", had helped myriads of men and women to tidy up their house, environment even their personal and professional lives. Here are a few of her secrets to success:

Lesson 1 Tackle Categories, Not Rooms

Even though we tend to take on one room at a time Kondo's advice is to tidy by category and deal with each category separately, for example, tackle all your books at once. Begin with clothing, go through more emotional items later such as books and old photographs.

Lesson 2 Respect Your Ownership

One of the best ways to avoid messiness is to truly value each item. You wouldn't leave that dress on the floor if you really respect it right?

Lesson 3 Get Over Nostalgia

Make two categories of things that are worth saving such as your sentimental memorabilia and the ones that are kept by habit or laziness. Throw the second category away and start storing the first.

Lesson 4 Purge is Good

One of her best rules is to keep only what gives you joy and it's much easier than you think. Start by putting on some music that makes you equally joyful.

Lesson 5 Go for the fold not the hang

Once the purge session is over it's time for storing. Rather than folding Kondo thinks a lot of our clothing would be "happier" folded in a dresser.

Lesson 6 The Fold

Her vertical folding technique makes everything easy to spot and hard to mess up. FOlded this way clothing looks like fabric origami ready to line your drawers in neat rows.

Phew! Christmas Day falls on a Monday this year which means you still have the whole weekend, as in three days including today, to get, wrap and give all your gifts. So if you’ve left it to the last minute, waited until pay day, been procrastinating or simply had no idea what to get certain people- no one else needs to know. Fingers crossed everything you want is still in stock, although you may have missed delivery times for online orders unless you’re willing to pay extra for next day delivery. Some retailers thankfully do click and collect and if all else fails, print off your online order and give that instead as indisputable proof you got them something. Just remember to hide/remove the price.

To help you on your gift mission, we’ve put together some quickfire jewellery, books and music edits to shop now below. And here are the rest of our gift guides for added inspiration!

SECRET SANTA GIFTS (these are stocking fillers as well)

This week Shopcade profiles Giorgina Clavarino, the influencer with the very poignant blog name entitled “Giorgina With an Eye”. The former Business school student talks to us about her dream closet, her collab with the playful Mira Mikati brand as she takes us through her morning routine and the elements that define her eclectic sense of personal style.

What compelled you to start a blog? I’m a hyperactive person, so unless I have 100 things to do I am not satisfied with what I have accomplished at the end of the day. The search for new challenges is what made me start my Fashion blog. In 2014, I was finishing my studies at Cass Business School in London and had lots of spare time, so I decided I would actively fill it up with something I was passionate about. I knew my studies at Cass were important because I’ve always dreamed of starting a business of my own one day. I also missed being more creative and having an outlet where I could just share what I loved, which is what my blog became. I had been following The Sartorialist for quite some time, and I loved how he shared photographs of street style in NY and loved how inspirational it was. I think this is what gave me the inspiration and the courage to test myself by starting a blog of my own, to share what I loved too!
#222222">
#222222">What's your relationship with fashion? How did it start and what motivates you to keep at it? I grew up in Milan, so fashion flows in everyone’s blood there. When you grow up in a city which is one of the world’s fashion capitals, you are indoctrinated with fashion from a young age. This probably explains why I was so into fashion since I was about 5. There is always the expectation to be flawless and up to speed with trends all the time. #222222">I think that the person that influenced my style the most however, has been my mother. She has always been a bit of a hippie, which is why since I was 10 I’ve loved wearing Minnetonka, boot cut jeans and have messy beachy hair. #222222">I remember my mother always used to buy stacks of magazines we would flick through together and rip off everything we loved and then make huge collages that I still have hanging in my bedroom in Milan. This then led to me creating my own scrap books, which I considered to be my own bespoke ‘Vogue’ editions, that my friends loved flicking through. The blog was then the evolution #222222">of the scrap book – a virtual version that I could share with more people. What keeps me going is my love for fashion. I know it sounds cheesy but it’s the truth. The creativity, the work, the influences that go behind the fashion industry, the way that you brand your products, the packaging, how you photograph it, the visions of the designers, the styling of the stylists, all the processes from beginning to end inspire me daily and are what motivates me to turn on my blog for a couple of hours a day and write something personal that made me think, laugh, smile, inspired that I want to share with other people.
#222222">
#222222">How would you define your personal style? Do you have any icons people accounts that you follow? When I moved to London my style changed a lot. I love Italian style, but it’s often too timeless and never too daring. Exactly the opposite of what I am, I always love wearing flamboyant clothes, whether it’s wearing a funky hat, a colourful pair of trousers, glittery shoes, or socks. In London you are more liberal, you can experiment with styles and are constantly influenced by different street styles, which in fact are my major influence. I love what people are wearing in the streets, I look at photographs and often attempt to recreate with my twist on what they are wearing. I love doing lots of stuff myself too, whether #222222">its dissembling an old pair of Levi’s, or sewing things onto jackets, designing my own jewellery. My other influences are Frida Kahlo, because I loved how colourful and exuberant her style was. She wasn’t afraid of being different, or better, of being herself. Jane Birkin, as she taught me how to look effortlessly cool with a simple pair of jeans and blouse. Kate Moss, because she always risked and wore the sickest clothes, from leather pants to colourful coats. And finally, to be more contemporary, #222222">I love ‘The Man Repeller’ and Leandra Medine. It’s an account I closely follow on Instagram, as I love how she combines clothes and never takes herself too seriously.
#222222">
#222222">What do you enjoy most about mixing and matching high street with high-end clothing?Proving that style goes beyond the brands you are wearing.
#222222">
#222222">How did the collab with Mira Mikati come about in Winter Wonderland? What are your favourite items from the latest collection and how would you style them? When I saw the collection I immediately imagined them to be captured in Winter Wonderland. Her clothes are so colourful that I wanted to put them in a fun and #222222">cool environment, that I could camouflage myself in. Every piece of Mira Mikati is very exuberant and colourful, so I would style them as I did on Instagram, with a simple pair of jeans to make the coats and jumpers stand out. I love colours in winter, but you must find a balance, so that the focus goes on the hero piece you are wearing e.g. the faux rainbow coat, or a yellow coat.
#222222">
#222222">Can you give us 3 styling rules that you abide by?
#222222">
#222222">1. Mom jeans

2. A pair of ‘70s converse that will go with almost everything

3. A lipstick that lifts every outfit
#222222">
#222222">Whose closet would you raid if you had the chance? Probably Leandra Medine.
#222222">
#222222">What's the biggest misconception about having your own blog? That it’s easy!
#222222">
#222222">What's your morning routine? I never wear lots of make-up, as I am too lazy and always too late to spend too much time on it. When I wake up though I always wash my face with Clinique Anti-Blemish Solution face wash, then clean my face with Kiehl’s Cucumber Herbal Toner and apply Clinique Anti-Blemish hydrant visage. I then add a very thin layer of Light Wonder by Charlotte Tilbury to give that fresh glow for the day and a bit of waterproof mascara by Eyeko. To finish I spray a bit of Twilly d’Hermes to be perfumed all day. I usually then have breakfast at work, which is either salmon on toast and a cappuccino or bread and Nutella. Life is too short to eat healthy all the time, especially in the mornings!
#222222">
#222222">What projects are you working on now? Big projects are still TBC! So stay tuned to discover more in 2018!

It's a well known fact that even if you are one of those people that the world wellness and healthy eating make you cringe. But, after the holidays and for the first few weeks of the new year we all turn into wellness junkies. "This is the year I'll lose the love handles or this is the year I'll reduce my gluten intake and up my hours at the gym", we tell ourselves. That self-righteous health nut voice is probably our own consciousness but also it's that friend -  the year long wellness fanatic who releases more happy hormones whilst running than eating chocolate.

So this list is dedicated to them and to our January resolution self. We've compiled the most comprehensive list that includes athletic gear, crystal healing books, recipes, and beauty products.
