Whether you’re still gearing up for the holidays or you’re already in the fast lane, Hugo Boss will keep you on the right sartorial track come evening. So many invites, late nights and tight deadlines mean time is of the essence so making an instant impact will drive your clothes choices. Dress lovers and tailoring devotees will rejoice at the modern classic styles on offer and the covetable accessories to team them with.

To set the wheels in motion without any outfit U-turns, you’ll need to decipher the dress-code and choose the optimum pieces to win the race for best dressed. If anything goes, you’re golden and you can use the opportunity to experiment with elevated everyday wear - say a paisley print bomber, slim trousers or twinkly blouse. Go down the cool route for ‘smart casual’ by topping statement separates with a leather jacket; and think of decorative dresses and sharp suiting as speedy formal and black tie attire.

The devil’s in the details and the final touches to push your look into entrance-making territory are standout accessories. A tonal rose gold watch will keep you on time and on-trend, while clean, patterned velvet bags add opulence to any occasion. A pocket square and sleek cuff-links will make all the difference with a suit, and rather than a necklace, drape a fringed scarf round your neck. You won’t want to take the minimal shoes- high or flat- off as they really shine and boast eye-catching details.

Rihanna’s hit ‘Work’ is pretty much the soundtrack to their life but they wouldn’t change it for the world. The CEO(s) in your life, aka people who live, breathe and love their work are always super busy and supremely organised. Meeting up with them requires a flick through their diary or a scroll down their e-calendar to settle on a faraway date where they don’t have a prior engagement. Which doesn’t mean they aren’t fun, just the ratio of their work-life balance is a little different to yours, and secretly you envy their productivity.

There’s two tacks you can take when finding a CEO’s gift. Pick something chic or useful that they’ll use often like an umbrella (which sounds strange but you know they’ll mentally thank you if they get caught in a downpour en route to an important meeting) or a luxe notebook to quickly write their eureka ideas into. Or upgrade their power wardrobe- a statement shirt will slot in seamlessly, helping them stand out among the suits and pencil dresses; along with a pair of 18 hour boots they’ll prize. Sophisticated flourishes like geometric jewellery or a structured bag should also gain their approval and gratitude.

I tried wearing red head to toe for a day. And it was so much fun. Red is one of my favourite colours so the all-red trend of this season was the most beneficial for me. Everyone was turnig their heads to see my look (maybe because it was too od but still I can say I turned heads!) I opted for a different cokour sneaker to break the huge blob of red but I still got compliments on my bravery. As a fashion student studying in a school of people wearing black from head to toe, red was quite a statement. I loved this trend and I think I will be doing it even when it is out of fashion! #red #trend #headtotoe #allred #headtotoered #fashion #streetstyle

Chrissy Teigen is known for her insanely witty sense of humour, especially in her tweets - who remembers her recent fascination with British TV? She is also stylish as hell. In this pink velvet she looks gorgeous. The slit at the front, slight pull around the waist and off the shoulder tailoring accentuate her fabulous figure. The dress itself is a statement, accessories are barely needed but Teigen completes the outfit with loud earrings and a matching clutch. Image: Elle.com

There's never been a more decisive 2017 trend than checks. That mid 80s allure of the powerful businesswoman (thankfully minus the shoulder pads) has met the equally British heritage aesthetic and gave us many amazing fashion moments this fall. For winter we move from the check blazer to the check coat and we assure you you'll spot it anywhere. This time we spotted it on The Duchess of Cambridge.

Yesterday Kate appeared in a lovely belted L.K. Bennett grey checked coat with a hemline hitting just below the knee, with four statement pockets on the front. You can snatch it now from the namesake brand or try any other high end to high street versions from a lush Balenciaga number to sleek versions at Topshop and ASOS.

"You do not understand; this is an Alaïa!", Exclaimed Cher Horowitz (Alicia Silverstone) in a scene of the classic nineties Clueless. Azzedine Alaïa, was one of the most influential designers, precisely because of its unique ideas. He was an artist adored by divas like Naomi Campbell and Lady Gaga because her pieces were always more than objects of clothing: Alaïa made an effort to make his creations a statement. Contrary to popular belief, socks are not boring or a rubbish male Christmas present. We can see how they got a bad rep, given how practical they are and how plain they used to be, but thankfully that is no longer the case. In fact, as trouser hems have got higher, revealing more than just an ankle bone or slither of calf, they’ve got bolder and brighter. Designers and brands have been letting their imaginations run wild so men can literally dip their toes in colour and print. These new socks are one thing that’s guaranteed to upgrade a grey winter’s day and an otherwise unremarkable look.

Of the sock tribes spotted among the well-dressed men among the streetstyle set and on our morning commute, three stand out. Vivid single shade colour is the minimalist’s choice- adding interest and catching the eye when styled with neutrals and monochrome. And designers socks are a great gateway purchase- hype beasts use them to signal their love for the brand, especially the ones peppered with logos and recognisable motifs. Then there are the maximalists who dive feet first into the rainbow- clashing shades and patterns at will.

It’s simply a matter of taste so shop our edit of the socks worth gifting and adding to your collection below.

All you’ll be able to fit into a teeny tiny bag are some coins, a key, a credit card and a lipstick if you’re lucky. If you can squeeze in your iPhone- say 6 and up- then it may be too big. And an umbrella, notebook and/or snack is out of the question. But doesn’t that defeat the purpose of a bag- to carry everything we need? Yes it does but these doll-sized accessories are just too adorable not to tote.

Case in point: Rihanna in Barbados last week when she attended her street-naming ceremony. As bright as the superstar’s head-to-toe yellow outfit was, the teeny, tiny bag from Jacquemus (a French brand known for it’s quirky proportion play) was the ladylike touch that made a much bigger statement. Downsizing to these levels was previously reserved for parties and yet the streetstyle set have been showing off shrunken cult styles from Chloé, Fendi, Chanel and more for a few seasons now. If you’ve ever said you weren’t attached your material possessions, here’s a stylish way to prove it.

The curtain's up this party season so take centre stage and give your best sartorial performance yet in Ted Baker. Whether it's a dreamy dress, statement separates or you go into full-blown magpie mode with metallics and sequins, we all have our favourite party fashion formulas and they’ve been given glamorous seasonal updates to ensure you steal the spotlight.

First things first: all leading ladies need a dramatic dress to ensure all eyes are on her and Ted Baker’s tick all the boxes. Flattering fits? Check. Dazzling details? Check. And switching up your accessories with every wear will give each one much more milage. To ramp up your star quality even further, mix and match tactile textiles- the plusher the better. Velvet is big news this season anyway in any colour and its understated lustre has great instagram appeal.

The new lines to learn are co-ords, as in coordinating tops and bottoms worn together, to help you stylishly stand out in a crowd of dresses. Trousers or skirts, plain or printed, they’ll slot seamlessly into your work and weekend wardrobes too should you wish. This ‘two of a kind’ trend also extends to accessories with gorgeous matching bags and shoes that look best together.

Last minute looks are sorted with the ultimate party dressing trick: the jumpsuit. The only things needed to set off these chic, one-and-done pieces are complementary accessories and a nonchalant attitude.
