Lakmé Fashion Week Resort 2017 is all about sustainability, and Day 2 was a great embodiment of that brief. Here's our roundup of our faves!

Sanjukta Dutta
The "Mekhela Chador" collection was all about ethnic Assamese motifs like peacocks, butterflies, and lions, and they truly brought this collection alive! And we couldn't have asked for a better showstopper for this show than the lovely Preity Zinta.

Amrich
This label's Resort 2017 collection was titled "Chiaroscuro", meaning the use of contrasting light and shadow. And that's exactly what this collection did, with monochromatic colour schemes and geometric prints.

Naushad Ali
This designer's collection hits the sweet spot for us since we love neutrals as well as brights! We adore the maxi length outfits that combine the two colour families effortlessly. Indigene Indigene was all about effortless summer layering this season, and we absolutely love the easy quality of this collection. The handwoven jackets with patchwork detailing fit the sustainability brief perfectly.

Sailesh Singhania
Every Indian girl dreams of owning that one beautiful, breath-taking sari that stands the test of time and can be passed on to the next generation. That's the dream Sailesh Singhania's collection embodies, with its gorgeous, rich tones and intriguing animal motifs.

Lakmé Fashion Week is always a super exciting time in the fashion world in Mumbai, and this year is no exception! The Summer/Resort 2017 edition kicked off on 1st February—a great way to start a new month indeed. Here's the roundup of Day

AM.IT by Amit Aggarwal
Amit Aggarwal's collection, titled "Seamless", paid homage to the daily casual Indian woman style with loads of tunics over skinny salwars. Jewel tones ruled the roost during this collection!

Dev R Nil
This designer duo loves their eye-catching, bright prints, and this collection sure reflected that, with loads of primary colours and cinched waists in the mix.

1111 Clothing
At 1111, it was one heck of a neutral party! Their collection featured numerous matching monochromatic outfits which combined chic and comfy into one fashionable package.

Urvashi Kaur
If you love neutrals and pastels, this collection is right up your alley! Think dusty mauves, pinky beiges, and pastel mustards. We absolutely loved the simple-and-comfy-yet-high-fashion vibe here.

Eka
This season, Rina Singh's brand, which is known for its fluidity and focus on Indian handwoven textiles, swept us off our feet with comfy-looking linen pants, flowy dresses, and neutral jackets, all layered expertly to look fashionable and oh-so-casual at the same time. A pastel lover's dream!

Ka-Sha
If you constantly find yourself torn between your love for your neutrals and your attraction to bright hues, there's no way you wouldn't fall in love with Ka-Sha's collection this season. Bright red and yellow were effortlessly combined with muted beige and navy, and we have to say how much we love the final result.

Presented by the 'aLL' label and creatively curated by Little Shilpa, this year Lakme Fashion Week saw a colourful look at fashion for the plus-sized. Well, we were all wondering when that was going to happen and it finally has! We wish you could see the excitement on our faces! The designer showcased high street casual and daily athletic wear which we loved, loved and loved!

The collection proudly boasted a hooded checkered monochromatic shirt and a printed summer dress teamed with an edgy leather jacket -- yes we can't stop thinking about that look!

The denim on denim look was given a twist by adding a pop of neon to make the rend look different and more modern. If you're wondering how all this fell perfectly in place, LFW had held auditions for plus-sized models last month where over 160 models across India auditioned.

Well, we hope this refreshing and much needed trend is here to stay! In case you're wondering, we don't like the word plus size and we always like to replace it with the term 'healthy'. You're you're healthy and proud, here's a well-curated list of everything you need in your wardrobe.

Sabyasachi

Doesn’t every girl dream of marrying in a Sabyasachi? Well, we did too when his collection walked the ramp right in front of our eyes! Glorious, gorgeous and breathtaking is how we’d like to describe Sabya’s work which was beautifully detailed with fur and exquisite handwork embroidery on shift dresses, velvet slip dresses and kaftans. Even though the collection had a modern twist to traditional clothing, the girl in us squealed with joy due the excited he evoked on the ramp.

Style inspiration: Intricate embroidery

Amoh by Jade
Jade’s collection called Itvara, meaning traveller, boasted traditional craftsmanship and handloom fabrics on feminine silhouettes. The garments were all silk, linens and cottons which spread a soulful vibe in the audience.

The gorgeous Pooja Hedge was seen showstopping towards the end in a monochromatic outfit which made her look chic and uber stylish.

Style inspiration: Embroidered silk

Ridhi Mehra
Heavily infused with indo-western vibes, Ridhi’s collection paired ghagra with crop tops and gowns with dazzling gold embroidery. We’ve seen the indo-western trend a lot, but Ridhi gave us a fresh collection which boasted traditional embroidery patterns, perfect for the modern day!

Style inpriration: Traditional ghagra and crop tops

Swati Vijaivargie
The designer’s collection looked like ancient paintings on fabric and it was gorgeous! Upon inspecting further, we learned that it was inspired by the Pichwai paintings of Nathdwara in Rajasthan. It was a beautiful compilation of patchwork and applique with antique marodi embroidery on pure silk. Well, you’ve got to see it love it!

Style inspiration: Big embroidered prints!

Fashion weeks are always tons of fun, but not just for what we see on the runway—we also love to check out what outfits celebs rock as they pose on the red carpet before and after shows! Here are our favourite red carpet looks from the latest LFW.

Lisa Haydon
Lisa looked like a glowing summer goddess in her usual bronzy makeup and a shocking pink maxi dress.

Pernia Qureshi
Pernia gave us major vacay vibes in this resort, sky blue maxi dress!

Sayani Gupta
We couldn't help but love Sayani's risqué yet super sleek look—a blazer top with a plunging neckline, a mini skirt, ankle boots, a basic black choker, and slicked back hair.

Kriti Sanon
Kriti looked super cute in a boho maxi dress (we love the maxi lovin' on this list!) and a fringe.

Malaika Arora Khan
Malaika went full femme fatale in a gorgeous black sari and a super vampy lip. We adore it!

Jacqueline Fernandez
Jackie graced us with yet another midi dress—but we can never get bored of seeing them on her fab figure!

Shraddha Kapoor
Shraddha kept things fresh in a rather androgynous outfit that was a cool change from all the feminine looks.

If you missed #LFW day 3, worry not as we’re here for your rescue. While this day almost seemed like a long party, we went home with immense inspiration for design and fashion. Here are some best designers who shone bright and emerged as winners at the show.

Doodlage
If frayed patchwork and prints is your game, then you’re sure to love Doodlage. Comfort clothing with elaborate layering has always been a unique selling point of the brand and Kriti Tula aces the modern hippie vibe. Her collection this year boasted a beautiful art that is colour patchwork which blew our minds away. We’re totally inspired by the energy we saw on ramp yesterday.
Style inspiration: Comfort clothing + colour blocking

Gaurang
Gaurang boasted his signature style last evening by showcasing a vibrant collection of traditional Indian wear including benarasis and bandhani. Seeing his collection was a pleasant break from new-age clothing as the zari work and prints made us feel proud of the stunning waves and textiles of India. His vivid colour palette and elaborate lehengas have geared us for the next festive season. We can’t wait!
Style inspirations: Vibrant saris

Rimzim Dadu
Rimzim’s collection, titled ‘The Maze’ explored the symbolic relationship between fashion, textiles, installation design and performance art to create a unique interative experience for the audience. A collection like this easily helped us boast about the art and science that is fashion as these garments played with his signature metal wire and leather hand weaving techniques that would keep you stunned for the entire season! Wondering what garments in the future would look like? Well, give your thought a break because your answer lies right here.
Style inspiration: Metallic ensembles

Rajesh Pratap Singh
Season after season, we have seen some beautiful yet minimalistic constructions from Rajesh Pratap Singh and he delivered the same intensity this time around. He gave his collection, ‘The Punjabi Suit’ a twist by adding high tech futuristic treatment to his Indian roots. The collection included salwars, capri pants, denim-waistcoats and striped dhoti pants that took our breath away! Style Inspiration: Indo-western

Catch the best looks and hautest trends straight off the runway! Here's what you missed on day #2.

Hemang Agrawal
A little metallic jazz in your life can go a long way and Hemang’s collection proves just that! Hemang has used zari to create full-blown metallic ensembles which despite being a difficult art, looks breathtaking and worthy of an applaud. Without the use of printing or embroidery, this metallic collection showcased shirt dresses, skirts and saris. Yes, we want! Style inspiration: Everything metallic!

Kallol Datta
Kallol, pretty much like always, kick started the show with his trademark baggy silhouettes. We love that his clothing looks as comfortable as it feels with the use of velvet, graphic polka dots and blacks flowed into dark inky blues. His asymmetrical tops paired with crushed metallic give us a feel of futuristic fashion. Bring it on, Kallol!
Style inspiration: Baggy, comfortable silhouettes

Runway Bicycle
If you’re the kind who is all for organic fabric then you probably already know Preeti Verma’s collection showcased a healthy collection that favoured the likes of Khadi. This wholesome collection featured designs for different professions which were not only youthful but also relaxed, easy and vibrant. What can we say, feminine-androgyny is going to take off like a rocket and how! Style inspiration: Organic fabrics

Sanjay Garg
We’re big fans of Sanjay’s work and we know he loves silk just as much as we do! However, this time around he broke free from traditional designs and showcased a more westernized catalogue of clothes. He used silk to create chic, well-tailored seperates with lots of palazzos, slip dresses and long coats with a touch of metallic goodness. When we say fashion is truly an art, this is exactly what we mean!
Style inspiration: Silk, silk and more silk!

Anavila
Sari fans, behold. Our favourite garment in the handloom section of the closet just got revolutionarised by Anavila. This season, she showed us how to style gorgeous plain saris with sleeveless cropped blazers, tops and flimsy long coats. We’d like to call it power-dressing of the season!

By the looks of it, Arjun Kapoor seems to have developed something of a penchant towards black leather jackets lately!

Not only did he don it while returning to India from South Africa, but also rocked another one when we walked the Lakmé Fashion Week runway for designer Sahil Aneja. If you ask us, we absolutely love it!

You can't get more classic and fashionable than a sexy black leather jacket, right?

Sleek, stylish and super functional, slings bags and clutches are a major trend at Lakme Fashion Week this season. Though we swear by the mantra ''It's not about what you carry, but how you carry it.'', a bag which does not complement your outfit is a big NO!

Accessories play a key role in your look and what better than a statement sling bag or a clutch? They not only highlight your personal style but also are the best accompaniment to any possible outfit. You can go for bright or subtle colours or even stunning contrasts and make your dull outfit pop!

Sling bags and clutches are the best when it comes to utility and are a practical add-on, which provide just the perfect space for all your necessities like phone, wallet, keys and even miniature perfume bottle.

So a good sling bag or a clutch is totally worth investing in. Flip through our gallery to check out some of the best bags we loved at LFW this season.
