After all the glitter and sparkles of Christmas and New Years Eve, it can be refreshing to completely tone down your make-up look and opt for a fresh-faced, glowing barely-there style instead.

Watch the video above as Carli Bybel shows you how she achieves her simple, everyday make-up look that’s perfect for your first day back in the office after the holidays.

One of the most surprising new trends on the Spring 2016 runway was the “hungover” look.

Yes, the baggy and reddened under-eyes, smudged mascara and greasy hair combo that you might have experienced after a night of drinking is now gracing the catwalks!

We don’t know how you might feel about sporting this look while sober but, if you’re actually hungover and don’t want anyone to know, the tips below might help:

1. Moisturise: Alcohol often leaves skin feeling dried out. Wash your face well with an exfoliating scrub, then apply moisturiser for that fresh, dewy look. Use tinted moisturiser for some extra colour. Also remember to drink plenty of water, starting with a full glass when you wake up.

2. Dry Shampoo: Give greasy hair a lift with plenty of sprays of dry shampoo. Aim towards your roots and massage the product in with circular motions (getting a bonus scalp massage in the process!).

3. Sunglasses: Hide baggy, red eyes with large, tinted sunglasses. Note: This tip might become awkward once you get inside.

4. Wear comfortable clothes: While you might not be in the mood for anything other than PJs, make the extra effort by slipping into something casual but put-together. Slouchy boyfriend jeans, trainers and a loose-fitting t-shirt should do (add a cardigan and snood for colder weather).

5. Mouthwash and Mints: Get rid of any lingering smells with plenty of mouthwash and pop in some mints on your way out of the house.

After putting in lots of time, effort and love to buy the perfect Christmas present, it can be disheartening if your present is messily wrapped. If you’re all thumbs when it comes to wrapping presents, our guide below is just what you need.

It’s easiest to work with a square or rectangle when wrapping presents, so if you have an irregular shaped present it might be worth finding a box to put it in first. A great tip is to snuggle shredded tissue paper around the present once you’ve placed it in the box. This adds a special touch and provides a cushioning effect.

Now that your present is boxed and ready to go, we can start wrapping:

1. Gather your materials: You’ll need wrapping paper, scissors, tape and, of course, your boxed present.

2. Find a large, flat surface: A table or the floor is best as they’re a stable surface, but your bed could work in a pinch.

3. Measure out your wrapping paper: Roll out the wrapping paper slightly, just enough to place the present along one edge. Make sure to place your present towards the centre, leaving enough space at the top and bottom of your present. Take the unrolled section of paper up over the present so it joins with the opposite edge. This will make sure you have enough paper to cover the entire present.

4. Cut the wrapping paper: Make sure to check all four sides of your present to ensure the paper can cover everything.

5. Centre the gift on the paper and bring each side of the paper up and halfway across the top. Tape in place. For a neater finish, fold over the last half-inch of the second side of paper and tightly crease in place.

6. Turn the box 90 degrees and fold down the top flap of the remaining paper. This should create two wings on each side. Flatten the wings against the box and you should be left with a triangle of paper. Fold this triangle up against the box and tape it all into place.

7. Flip the box over and do the same on the other side.

8. For an extra special touch, add some ribbons or decorative bows.
