We’re over the moon that coat season has finally come to an end but we’re not quite ready to leave the house without an extra layer. It’s time to relegate winter coats to the back of our wardrobes and be on the look-out for cool jackets and simple blazers.

My last Coachella look had to be this pastel peach dream. Again a co-ord proves it can't be beaten. I am obsessed with the colours here - the ideal summer combo. The style of the slightly structured two piece with the boho scarf thrown over is a beautiful summer styling technique. The scarf brings the co-ord into the laid back festival vibe perfectly. YouTuber Danielle Peazer is a fitness guru. However, she is showing us that she also has great everyday style with this outfit choice. This camouflage printed shirt is the perfect choice for Spring - the layered jewellery and shades help to create a strong boho vibe, which I adore 😍 #ootd #daniellepeazer #youtuberstyle Photo Credit: @DaniellePeazer on Twitter

Spring doesn’t have to mean floaty boho dresses and voluminous shapes. In fact, sleek tailoring is making a big comeback for the new season in fresh spring colours and prints. As seen on Kendall Jenner, floral suits are set to be on your workwear radar from now until winter.

Perfect for the office to drinks or for cool guest looks as wedding season approaches, floral suits put a spin on traditional tailoring. Think big, bold patterns from Dolce & Gabbana or chintzy florals in vintage-inspired shapes from the likes of MSGM.

Whatever the cut, be it skinny leg, wide-leg, with a cropped jacket or an oversized blazer, the trend – excuse the pun – suits everyone.

It was just a year ago when Prada showcased seashell necklaces during Fashion week and we have to admit it's a very ambitious trend. Although other nautical-inspired themes have taken off it's difficult to take seashells seriously without making connotations with Australian soap operas.

However employed with the right outfit and the right style seashells work wonderfully and transition us to the new Spring/ Summer season. It's one of the biggest accessory trends of the season even though they might still carry some of that 2000s surfer vibe.

How to wear sea shell jewellery in 2018?

Avoid anything plastic and faux in colour or pattern. Instead look for delicate, and refined shells in gold or silver. There are a number of smaller brands that are driving this trend so don't be afraid to try them. Pair your accessories with boho-inspired dresses, striped tops, or simple white tees. The key is to keep a nautical, vacation inspired theme that will host your seashell accessories.

Editor's tip: For extra shine that lasts add a bit of naked nail polish on your accessory to prevent damage and tears.

It’s no secret that we’re fans of Alexa Chung. The model, writer, IT-girl and now designer is always ahead of the curve when it comes to her style. Her influences are myriad, from punk to Victoriana, and we love the creative references in her own collections too.

Alexa’s latest collection is inspired by Bloomsbury Set – a group of artists and writers – and the wild, eclectic decor at their Sussex country retreat, Charleston House. Alexa Chung launched her eponymous label ALEXACHUNG this year and was keen to honour her British roots with the new designs. The label combines Parisian chic with a New York edge and a British sense of humour.

We’re head over heels for the dreamy images on the Alexachungstagram feed, shot at Charleston for SS18. The Virginia collection, inspired by Virginia Woolf, features white boho dresses, statement floral prints and illustrated silk scarves and tees in Alexa’s signature quirky style.

Practicality seems to have been a winning trend for the past two seasons. Reaching a happy medium between comfort and elegance is not that much of a stretch and our feet thank us for it. Street style is no longer about stilettos; now the cool crowd is wearing trainers, brogues, loafers and mules –  a big relief if you ask us.

Sure, heels are great for parties but we must admit, we’ve been swapping our spike heels for chunky styles from designers like Gucci –  the perfect way to add a few inches without compromising on comfort.

When it comes to cool flats, why not opt for a pair of boho moccasins, or a classic brogue? Our personal favourites? Trainers with a chunky sole for extra height. Alexa Chung and Olivia Palermo are proving the power of a well chosen flat for day and evening. Even Victoria Beckham – queen of the court shoe – has been spotted in spring brogues, sneakers and ballet flats.

How to wear flats and look cool?

Opt for an office-ready look by styling your flats with a tailored suit, a sleek leather backpack and a low bun.

Don a pair of embroidered slippers or embellished ballet pumps to put a fresh spin on your evening party dress.

I think that my favorite accessories for Coachella are definitely flower headbands.  I love the boho vibe that they have and you suddenly feel like a hot fairy when you wear them. They even good for other festivities like a Halloween costume, very multi-purpose.  Photo Credit: @laurDIY on twitter  #fashion #coachella  #festivalhair #festivalstyle

Boho is set to be big this summer but if you’re not ready to go for full-on pom poms and prairie dresses, how about trying a hint of fringe instead? The sleeker, subtler sister of a full-length boho frock, fringed dresses take cues from tasselled garments from way out west.

Look to Christian Dior's collection for cowgirl-inspired pieces, Loewe for knotted T-shirt dresses and Bottega Veneta for ‘60s-style mini dresses adorned with rock’n’roll leather fringing. Want the look for less? Why not try a simple iteration from Mango, where you’ll find fringed panelling and hems for SS18 – perfect for festivals and sunny days.

An easy way to infuse your look with a touch of eclectic cool, designers are opting for fringes and tassels to elevate simple looks to new heights this season. Team yours with simple accessories like leather ankle boots, a minimalist clutch or a pair of barely-there heels to let the detailing take centre stage.

From swinging tassels on day dresses to glittering sequinned threads and flashes of eyelash lace for after dark, fringing is in and here to stay.

The past few years  Alicia Vikander has been going from strength to strength both in her acting roles but in her style evolution as well. Her break out year was 2015 when she released seven films, won an academy award for her role as Gerta in the  Danish Girl and landed her first Vogue cover, too. This Oscar winner obviously knows a thing or two about style. She sports unapologetic vibes in her new movie as Lara Croft in Tomb Raider after gaining six kilos of muscle and donned combat shorts and double revolver's to portray the action heroine.

Apart from her action star wardrobe, her fashion credentials are more aspirational including a gig as a Louis Vuitton spokesmodel. It doesn't hurt that Vikander is graceful and poised due to her rigorous dance training at the Swedish Royal Ballet School. She continues to carry that Scandi chic factor working with stylist Victoria Sekrier taking her through awards seasons, premieres and appearances, striking a balance between fashion innovation and nonchalance. Even though her looks are timeless, Vikander likes to blend muted minimal options with sleek tailoring and neutral colours with a few boho details creating her own unique style (a mix of the Marc Jacobs and Chloe girl).

As a model and muse for Nicholas Ghesquiere's Louis Vuitton, she always looks flawless on the red carpet with diverse outfits from high-necked gowns or strapless finds. Other designer favourites include Gucci, Rodarte, McQueen, and emerging brands like Barbara Casasola. If you want to infuse a bit of her everyday style try a long boho skirt a top denim jacket and mules. For an evening look go for the GANNI lace black dress paired with strappy sandals and a crossbody tiny evening bag.

If you’re a bit lost in your wardrobe when spring finally comes around, know you’re not alone. Cold, warm, rain, sun… difficult to understand. At the end of the day, you put on layers, without knowing what you’re doing. Or worse, you get a cold.

But this era has come to an end. Here are the 6 transition pieces to bet on for an amazing spring.

The cardigan: the must have of mid-season, the one we all have in our wardrobe but not the funniest to wear… Pick its oversized version, a bit thick, a bit boyfriend-like. Cinched, it is now a sexy must have.

The trench coat: easy, everyone knows it. Lighter than a coat, it protects you against rain and get you warmer with style. Perfect to warm up that little dress we’ve been dying to wear.

The military jacket: a bit like the trench, but more rock. This is a classic to wear with a jean or a printed dress, for a boho-chic style. With boots or thigh high boots, worn on bare legs, you’re ready to face the storm.

The culottes: Nor shorts or trousers, this is a transition piece by definition. We skip the tights of course, the idea being to finally show some leg. We put on a pair of mules (if the weather is nice), or sneakers, and here we go!

The mules: here, again, we have a hybrid piece, so perfect for transition. Half-sandals, half-boots, mules are covering enough to keep your feet warm, but open enough for a more spring-like look.

The thigh high boots: feeling like a dress, but tired of wearing tights ? Thigh high boots are made for you. Careful, you’re gonna turn heads…
