If you’re the sort of person who’d rather rock a pared-down tote and tee than an IT-bag and a sweater with logos plastered all over it, just hear us out…

While we’re not making a case for logo overkill, there are some pretty chic ways to rock a designer logo – see ‘90s-inspired Calvin Klein tees and iconic Gucci bags.

Plus, plenty of our favourite brands have put a contemporary twist on the trend too – see Off-WhiteTM and Moschino.

The phrase ‘less is more’ is a good one to bear in mind here so consider pairing your bold logo-adorned pieces with neutral separates for the weekend and smart tailoring for on-duty.

Want to try the effortlessly cool logo look for yourself? Browse our edit below and shop our favourite pieces from the likes of Balenciaga, Karl Lagerfeld and Givenchy…

So… Honestly, I’ve had enough of luxury Croc’s. Personally, Croc’s is the last thing that comes in to my mind when I think of luxury. That is why I don’t quite understand Christopher Kane and Balenciaga. After the oversize platformed Croc’s that Balenciaga released last season, the brand has now created a stilletto Croc’s shoe. Why? I really don’t know, but I really don’t adore it! #crocs #balenciaga #fashion #trend #streetstyle #style #christopherkane

Isn't this the most summer chill outfit you have ever seen? The Balenciaga sneakers are the star of the outfit but even though those shoes could look a lit bit bulky, it's really cool to see how the girl pair them with that big sleeve top and the white overall. It makes the outfit a little more stylish but comfy at the same time. photo credit: @telva on twitter #fashion #outfit #balenciaga #look

Though we’re loath to say it, for a handful of occasions, a designer tote isn’t the ideal choice of bag. Take your trip to the airport for example. A teeny tiny Chanel number might look incredible, but it’s not the most practical option…

Seasoned travellers know that for a relaxed trip through customs and a comfortable flight, it’s all about organisation – think compartments, clear wallets for your make-up and plenty of space to fit your essentials.

Plenty of luxury and affordable brands have cottoned onto the fact that travelling can be stressful and that the right prep can make or break a long-haul flight.

In fact, MADE.COM has recently launched a selection of slick accessories that make travelling a whole lot easier and the likes of Burberry, Balenciaga and Gucci have gotten on board too with roomy backpacks and luxe splash-proof wash bags.

So, before you jet off on your summer holidays, consider travelling smarter and packing that designer shoulder bag into your suitcase. Opting for an airport and flight-friendly accessory will see you arriving in your destination looking stylish and ten times more chilled.

Introducing the LOVE LIST – a round up of the pieces we’ve been crushing on, shopping for and wearing in the SHOPCADE office…

Lately, we’ve been loving cool, minimalist trends with contemporary twists – see streamlined all-white looks with a little ruffle here and there.

For this, we’ve looked to Nanushka for simple shirts, dresses and skirts in neutral tones and the Off-WhiteTM and Browns Fashion collection for breezy androgynous silhouettes.

Our summer shoe line-up is composed of fresh white trainers, soft suede mules and statement pool slides. We’ve been wearing a mix of high-end and high street, with McQueen sneakers, block heels by Dear Frances and Mango mules making regular appearances for equal parts comfort and style.

In our opinion a designer bag is what makes an outfit. Our summer heroes? Balenciaga and Cult Gaia of course. It’s all about those oversized totes, pop-bright shades and cool boho basket bags.

Investing in a pair of designer shoes is the ultimate treat. But sometimes, throwing your cash at a trending design may seem frivolous. So, we put a question to our editors to help you make a decision about your next investment: are those Balenciaga sneakers worth our hard-earned cash?

SPEND

Ok so the fact that this is a sneaker means it’s not a ridiculous shoe that will only work for certain occasions. You can literally wear sneakers anywhere. The comfort factor is a big deal here too – the Balenciaga iteration of these chunky shoes is well crafted and built to withstand the test of time making it worth the investment.

Then there’s the branding. If you want people to know you’re rocking an IT-shoe rather than a designer dupe, these sneakers are worth splashing your cash on. Just make sure you get your cost per wear and figure out how many outfits they’ll complement before you make your purchase; thinking about color combos is key.

SAVE

Balenciaga’s iconic panelled sneakers have been re-imagined and re-produced in many affordable versions. Most recently River Island has created a copycat design that bears an uncanny resemblance to the original. The great thing about investing in a high street iteration is obviously that you can enjoy the look for less, but there are other benefits too.

Being able to rock your kicks without fearing for their safety is liberating. With an affordable pair, you’ll be able to wear your sneakers all season long, maxing them out with as many outfits as you like – no matter the occasion or the weather.

What's your verdict, spend or save? Shop our high-end and affordable picks in the edit below and browse our gallery for inspiration...

This summer is all about the humble polka dot – the classic trend is having a moment and we’re not mad about it.

Polka dots ruled last season’s shows with the likes of Jacquemus, Louis Vuitton and Givenchy showcasing dotty pieces in Paris. We saw beautiful ruffled tops, silk dresses and A-line skirts adorned with spots and now, the polka dot trend is still going strong with Balenciaga, Self-Portrait, Mary Katrantzou, Dior and Giorgio Armani rocking them for SS18.

Street style favourites like Farfetch’s Yasmin Sewell and blogger Camille Charrière have taken to stepping out in dots and we’ve taken a few style tips from them on how to wear the trend this season…

For after dark

Follow Rodarte’s lead for spring and opt for dainty polka dots on fluffy tulle gowns. Soften prints and patterns with swooping silhouettes, sweetheart-neck dresses and soft fabrics in classic black and white. Just add stilettos and gold-toned accessories.

Get shirty

Pair a slip-style dotty dress with a fresh white shirt for an office-ready look. Opt for a ruffled Victoriana style or mix it up with a menswear-style piece or off-shoulder design. Add cool mules and a smart tote to finish the look.

Maximalism

Channel Jason Wu vibes by going for asymmetric silhouettes, ruffled styles, wrap-fronts and cold shoulders. Clashing spots and bright colors are great for elevating your look too. Polka dots don’t always have to be black and white.

Go oversized

Opt for XXL spots with a punk-rock twist á la Junya Watanabe and dial your dress down with a pair of cool sneakers, a basket bag and a stack of cool bangles.

The edition of the Ocean's 11 franchise hits theatres tomorrow across the US. We're expecting stellar performances by an all-female cast including Rihanna, Sandra Bullock, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, Sarah Paulson, Mindy Kaling and Cate Blanchett an award-winning actress who thanks to her many accolades, has had plenty of opportunities to hone her red-carpet style.

Cate Blanchett often avoids the safe route and goes with pieces from the likes of Balenciaga, Alexander McQueen, Christopher Kane and Armani. She always put her unique stamp on a look by making structural silhouettes and bold detailing work to her advantage.

Her most memorable looks?

Hands down the lemon Valentino design she rocked when accepting her Oscar, the intricately-designed John Galliano dress that she sported at her first Academy Awards and more recently, her killer pastel suits at Cannes Film Festival.

We love Cate Blanchett's style so we’ve put together a few tips on how to recreate it, whatever your budget…

Red carpet

Go for a sweeping evening gown with an exposed back and gold-toned detailing. Finish your look with delicate sandal heels, a simple clutch and a set of drop earrings for pure elegance.

Off duty

To copy Cate’s  her off duty look  keep it classic and practical. She usually goes for a pair of fitted pants, a blazer and shirt paired with a neutral  mule or sneaker, so try muted separates and tailoring with a sports-luxe twist for yourself. Want to get more of Cate's style?

Head to our gallery for more snaps of her red carpet and off-duty look sand shop our favourite Cate-inspired pieces from the edit below...

On the first Monday of every May we eagerly await the red-carpet glam squad who’ll assemble at the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. The annual costume gala is only a few days away and we're buzzing with anticipation.

This year the Gala will be co-hosted by Amal Clooney, Donatella Versace and the undisputed queen of red carpet events, Rihanna – we’re still not over the train on the mustard Guo Pei gown she sported in 2015. The theme for the 70th anniversary of fashion's biggest fund-raising event is Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination; a pretty controversial subject in comparison to past themes.

China: Through the Looking Glass, Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty, Punk: Chaos to Couture and of course, last year's Rei Kawkubo: Comme des Garçons were among the iconic themes of Galas past. This time, Fashion and the Catholic Imagination will focus on religious depictions showcased across three galleries including the Met Cloisters.

The exhibition will feature 50 pieces from the Sistine Chapel – including robes, rings, tiaras and other accessories from the 18th to the early 21st century. As for fashion, guests will be treated to a viewing of 150 religiously-inspired ensembles from houses like Balenciaga, Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana, and of course Versace.

Care to jump on the bandwagon and dress to fit the theme yourself? Head to our gallery for more inspiration and shop the best accessory styles from our edit below…

Whether you’re pro or anti yellow, there’s no denying the colour is everywhere this season. From Prada and Ganni to Balenciaga and Christopher Kane, the pop-bright tones of sunshine yellow, deep mustard, egg yolk and pale lemon dominated the runway for SS18.

Even Beyonce put her spin on the colour in her custom Balmain stage outfits at Coachella this month while celebs from Gal Godot to Emma Stone have been spotted rocking sunflower tones both on the red carpet and off duty.

We wouldn’t blame you for being hesitant to take the plunge into head-to-toe yellow – it’s an acquired taste after all – so our Editors have put together a round-up of the best pieces to help you nail the trend.

From cool yellow accessories to simple stripes and statement jumpsuits, these are the best ways to rock the yellow trend day or night, whatever your style.

Scroll down to shop our yellow edit and try the look for yourself…
