We never thought there would be a time when we yearned for more snow but, after seeing some star influencers frolicking on the slopes via their instagram feeds, we are. It’s ski season and the uniform du jour? Perfect Moment skiwear. Now the #jetaporter and #thenetset hashtags captioning the pictures of Linda Tol, Alice Casely-Hayford and co make it clear that these images are part of an elaborate and very enviable marketing scheme. In other words, these women may have been paid to wear this brand on what looks like one hell of a press trip but we don’t care. These graphic styles look so great we’re sold and others like Jane McFarland and Monica Ainley have given Perfect Moment their own stamp of approval by wearing it organically.

Statement coats are all the rage so a Perfect Moment jacket definitely wouldn’t be out of place on the street. In fact, you’d be positively toasty, and maybe even a little smug, that your bold puffa is made from a superior, insulating material and few other people will have the same. Ski jumpers are also trending so why don’t you wear a real one by a specialist ski brand with fresh motifs rather than a purely fashion-y one? The ski trousers or salopettes are best left for ski trips but don’t overlook those wool jumpsuits- they’re the chicest, sleekest luxury onesies we’ve seen and ideal for lounging around at home.

Shop the best Perfect Moment styles of the season in our edit below.

Move over ‘Dry January’, it’s all about Veganuary this year judging by the column inches and social media hashtags. As in going completely animal-free for the whole month and thankfully vegan alcohol isn't hard to find so there’s no need to give up your favourite tipple either. The reported benefits are pretty awesome: kickstarting a healthier lifestyle following an indulgent festive period, reducing the risk of heart disease and diabetes, cutting out cholesterol and lowering your blood pressure according to the website. And there are the animals themselves, of course; if there is less demand for animal products- food and clothes, then their suffering and supply should theoretically decrease. It’s also better for the environment as you’ll reduce your greenhouse gas emissions- released by farmed animals- more than you would by giving up your car if you drive. No wonder people are taking the plunge, especially now there are amazing vegan restaurants and products available- as it won’t necessary cost you any more. Beyonce did it, Made in Chelsea's Lucy Watson is doing it and so can you.

To be honest, though, nothing beats the smell of cooking bacon or the texture and taste of a perfectly cooked steak. No matter how ‘real’ the fake meat is. And if you’re doing this to drop a few pounds, be mindful that you don’t fall into the comfort carb or chocolate trap as sometimes vegetables may not be filling enough. More cooking time may be needed, as well as carrying snacks to keep you on track if you happen to be somewhere that doesn’t have a vegan option. It’s worth doing some nutrition research to ensure you’ll be getting the vitamins and minerals you need in lieu of the ones that occur in animal products. Finally, if you’re are going animal-free then your mindset should probably feed into your wardrobe and makeup bag as well. That means no real leather at all, head to toe. Or wool and fur. When it comes to beauty- mink eyelashes are out or any products containing dairy, honey or beeswax too. Which may mean relegating some of your go-to outfits and products for the month or buying some new ones.

Here are our ready-to-shop vegan food, fashion and beauty edits to get you started if you’re doing it.

1. Adidas
2. Gucci
3. Christian Dior
4. Chanel
5. Rolex
6. Louis Vuitton
7. L’Oréal
8. Burberry
9. Versace
10. Hermes

We’ve all dreamed of having a perfect Instagram feed with thousands of followers, but realising that today Instagram can quite literally be a full-time job, many of us have given up.

Luckily, we have a few simple tips that will instantly make your feed look amazing.

Choose a theme
Sticking to a theme is very important to make your Instagram feed look good. Some of our favourites are the minimalist theme (very bright with a lot of white), sticking to a particular colour, or even having only quotes in the left-hand-side column.

Have a consistent filter
For a neat looking feed, you should stick to a specific filter. We recommend using apps on which you perform the same edit every time and our favourites are vsco, after light, and faded.

Vary your posts
Be creative and play with different angles and subjects to keep your followers interested. No one wants to follow an account that posts only selfies… If you’re looking to switch it up, trying adding a photo of your style icon for example, they usually perform really well!

The ensemble must look good
The key to an aesthetically pleasing feed is making sure your new photo matches the 1st and 3rd photos. For example, if you feel like they are quite detail heavy, the newest photo should be clean and simple to balance it out. A quote, a scenery picture or even a empty coloured photo will do the job!

Keep captions brief
The trick is to have a short caption and to hashtag selectively. Be sure to skip the trending hashtags, adding #girl #cute #tanktop #blog #love #followme is never a good idea. Firstly, those hashtags don’t work, secondly, they’re annoying to everyone and thirdly, they don’t make any sense.

Tag brands
If you post a lot of photos with clothes, be sure to tag the brands. If you’re lucky, they’ll repost your image, and even if they don’t, you’ll still be in their tagged photos section.

Now let the followers roll in...

It's always inspiring to talk to like-minded, creative people who are constantly trying to make a difference in this industry!

Creative visualiser, stylist, model and blogger Monalisha Mahapatra of The Greyhalfway spoke to Shopcade recently about her personal style and nuances of the blogging world, and as fans of her work, we asked her for a few tips so as to help every budding blogger out there.

Shopcade Headquarter (SHQ): What is the story behind the title "The Greyhalfway"
The Grey Halfway (TGH): "There is no story as such, though i was just researching at my workstation with few of my friends on cable knit sweaters on Pinterest and somehow got connected to bright colours and muted colours and that's how this name came into the picture."

SHQ: Describe your sense of style in one sentence
TGH:  "My style is easily adaptable"

SHQ: What is your current favourite brand on the block?
TGH: "It has to be Zara, Oh i am in love with the new Zara Patched denim jackets!"

SHQ: How hard is it to sustain in the blogger industry?
TGH: "I believe that content is the king and i keep on creating a lot of editorials on my blog TheGreyhalfway now and then. We work on a lot of pet projects as well, which includes styling and playing with light and shadows where photography plays the most important role. Creating content is where everyone struggles so i think that's about it."

SHQ: 3 Tips for Newbie Bloggers
TGH:
TIP 1: "Just work on the content you create and stay truthful to your own self."
TIP 2: "Style according to new trends."
TIP 3:  "Instagram is one of the most socially active applications, make your Instagram as attractive as you can. Instagram posts don't necessarily have to be HD, but try creating good frames with your phone camera and post process it to make the pictures look attractive My secret editing software is VSCO and its a free app and I always use hashtags, Instagram permits 30 hashtags for one single post, so make full worth of it."

Whether we admit it or not, we all love that feeling of seeing loads of notifications after posting a photo on Instagram, right? It's only natural to feel happy seeing many people liking that photo you took.

But sometimes, even the pictures and posts we love don't get as much appreciation as we feel we deserve. Here are some tips to get more likes on your social media posts!

Make sure the photo is awesome
Don't post stuff just for the sake of posting—post a picture only if you truly think it's great! If content is good, it automatically attracts more likes.

Don't over-edit your photos
If a photo is already great, it won't require more than the slightest bit of editing. If the photo has a ton of filters and effects on it, it's not a good picture.

Collect some quality photo editing apps
For those small changes that can make a good picture a great picture that gets loads of likes, you need some awesome photo editing apps in your arsenal! We recommend VSCO, PicsArt, and Afterglow.

Post as often as you can
When you appear regularly on your followers' feeds, you tend to get more double-taps. It also helps your posts to show up on non-followers' Explore sections, which is a great way to gain more followers and therefore get more likes.

Use hashtags wisely
It's key to find a balance when using hashtags. Use enough relevant hashtags to make sure your picture gets noticed and rakes in the likes, but not so many that it looks messy and puts people off.

Keep your account public
If you post photographs that aren't personal and are looking to get more likes, keeping your account public will definitely help you gain more likes and followers than having a private account.

We hope these tips help you take your Instagram game to the next level!
