Start off with a short briefing from a qualified instructor who will talk through track driving techniques. Next the instructor will drive round the circuit in a sports saloon for five minutes of familiarisation laps to demonstrate the racing lines. Then take the driving seat of the fantastic 183 mph, 400 bhp, 0 - 60 mph in 4.5 seconds Ferrari 360. Have just enough time to get your breath back before pushing driving skills to the limit in a rally prepared Ford Focus. With an instructor alongside, try handbrake turns and power slides and put this car through its paces on a purpose-built rally course. Corby, Northamptonshire Availability: At least one Saturday per month throughout the year. Dates fill very quickly, so we recommend booking several at least six weeks in advance. Weather: Driving may be cancelled or curtailed in extreme weather conditions (e.g. snow, ice, heavy rain or high winds) which would make driving at speed dangerous. Please call the venue if in any doubt. Duration: Expect to be at the circuit for around two hours, including your briefing, six miles driving the Ferrari and 15 minutes in the rally car. Please arrive 30 minutes in advance of your booked time to ensure a prompt start. Numbers On Day: All in-car tuition is on a one-to-one basis. Briefings are held in groups of up to 30 people. There might be other vehicles on the race track at the same time as you. Spectators: Friends and family are welcome and there are excellent spectating and catering facilities on-site. Please note that animals are not allowed at the circuit (with the exception of guide dogs). Dress Code: Wear trousers, a long-sleeved shirt and flat-soled shoes. A helmet is provided. Guidelines: Exit the A14 at junction 7 onto the A43 (Kettering/Corby/Stamford). At the roundabout take the A6003 (Corby/Oakham) and continue over the next two roundabouts (the second has a BP garage) still on A6003, then turn right at the next roundabout towards Corby and follow signs to Rockingham Circuit. Restrictions: Minimum age is 18. Maximum weight is 18 stone. Minimum height is 5'0'', maximum 6'2''. You must have held a full British or international manual driving licence for at least 12 months which you must bring with you on the day in order to participate. Other Info: The race circuit is MSA (Motor Sports Association) approved for quality and safety. The organiser was established in 1978 and is a founder member of The Association of Racing Drivers' Schools. All instructors here are ARDS qualified.
