A perfect way to spend some quality time together as a family -novice or experienced, riding is a brilliant way to introduce the kids to a new hobby where parent also get involved. After being introduced to their ponies the instructor will teach the youngsters how to tack up before heading out for a half hour to one hour lesson within the grounds and an assessment of their abilities in order to best plan a follow up activity. Then adults can lead the children on a hack (including walk and trot) in countryside or woodland (cantering is not permitted outside the arenas during initial visits). The children have an hour and a half riding time, followed by soup and sandwiches for all of you. At the end everyone has the opportunity to groom a horse. Reading, Berkshire Availability: Seven days a week throughout the year. Weather: Riding may be cancelled or curtailed in extreme weather (e.g. heavy rain or snow) for your safety as well as that of the horses. If you have any concerns about the weather, please call the venue before leaving home. Duration: Your experience lasts around three hours. Total riding time is around an hour and a half. Lunch lasts approximately one hour. Please arrive a few minutes in advance of your booked start time, to ensure a prompt start.
